      That's fair! I'm a huge fan of traditional brick-and-mortar schooling too.

    Hey Daniel. I'm looking forward to starting at WGU this June. This video is really helpful for setting my expectations!

      P.S. Would love to see this channel take off. I think setting your camera down or getting a tripod would be worth the investment 👍

      Hi, thanks so much for your comments! I wish the best for your WGU program. Thanks for the tip on tripod! I have one though I'm often too lazy to set it up 😂 I definitely need to do that more, though. I appreciate it!

    7. IMO BSCS it's a paper to get past the AI, I don't think the bot is looking for Harvard or MIT keywords.

    I do agree on many of the points myself. However, my mentor has been very supportive of accelerating and I have not personally ran into obstacles to having classes added. I just send him an email. In regard to perception, it is unfortunate because many of the courses at WGU are actually more in-depth and challenging than some brick and mortar courses I have seen. The operating systems class material went to more depth than UMass or University of San Diego. Also, with the competency based model it can really be challenging and you really have to know the course in and out. Ultimately, I do think the computer science program is a fully suitable program. It is unfortunate if that level of perception is out there. I will say, there are many anecdotal experiences of people having no issues with perception.

    I wish I would have never signed up. My mentor is terrible. He won't answer the phone yet sends me emails saying I didn't answer the phone. He won't reply to my emails. I am panicking.

    Did you learn enough to build a startup?
    Are classes taught or structured via video vs books?

    • @daniel.gallegos
      @daniel.gallegos  6 місяців тому +1

      Since I haven't built a startup, I can't say with any confidence whether I learned enough to build one. Classes are mainly structured through online, interactive e-Books and videos.

    Is cs50 (w/o math) vs bscs enough prep for a masters+, computational science program?

    • @daniel.gallegos
      @daniel.gallegos  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi again, could you clarify your question? If you're asking whether CS50 is enough to prepare for a master's in computational science program, I would say no. CS50 is an introductory computer science course.
