    Thank you. Very easy to follow. If you do something like this again, a contrasting background would really help.

    I was doing this "my own way" this morning, but my way was more difficult so I searched for tips from someone else and found you. The key to your tip, for me, is the quilt ruler. I'd have never thought of that, so thanks so much!

    Thank you for the tip. Have a large sheet that I need to cut and wanted to the same effect. I don't have a bone folder but have everything else, so will improvise.

    I cannot see the edges because the paper is the same color as the background.

    Hi Amanda, is it possible to deckle edges of cardstock paper?

    • @AmandaWiley
      @AmandaWiley  4 роки тому

      I wouldn’t recommend using water to get a deckled edge on card stock, you will get a lot of warping. I would try using a ruler and tearing upward. If you have starting using a side leave the front side facing downward on the table for the best look. The look of the deckled edge can vary depending on the weight and makeup of the paper, and will probably not be as pronounced as you would see on a watercolor paper.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial Amanda! I clicked on the link to buy the paper on amazon but it looks like its out-of-stock :( Do you happen to have another recommendation to use? Or what kind of paper is needed? Thanks so much!

      You're welcome! I'm happy you found it helpful! It does seem the Bee Paper Company at the moment has no plans on restocking their paper in the 50 count packs, I'm unsure why. They do have pads available, but they aren't 100% cotton. I found a similar product by Strathmore here: amzn.to/3dIri90 that is 100% cotton, and the same size as the Bee paper.
      This technique can be used on any kind of paper. I use this method of wetting the paper with less expensive cotton papers, or anything that only has a percentage on cotton. Basically anything that has a fuzzy look when ripped dry. For higher quality papers, there is no need to wet the paper, as they will have a beautiful edge regardless.

    Sorry to report I don't find this works. If you're just making pure straight lines with the ruler, folding each edge over and tearing it off, then repeating that several times on all four edges where does the rough deckled edge come from? And isn't this making the paper smaller and smaller? I think I need someone to explain what is missing here in the method. When I tried it - the end result was paper too small and edges normal torn careful straight edges.

    his would be perfect, if only I could see what you're doing. The light is wayyy too blown out on my screen. No matter how I adjust, I can't see what you're doing. Bummer.
