UPDATE ON THE TAGGED SNAPPER: "It was originally tagged by one of our samplers on August 8, 2023. It had 93 Days at liberty before it was recaptured by you on November 24, 2023. At the time of tagging, the snapper was 14.9 inches to the fork. The fish was caught over natural bottom at an average depth of 35 meters and presented with mild barotrauma. It was vented via a syringe style venting tool and swam away without issue. The reef you caught this snapper from is approximately 10 nautical miles from the spot it was released with a tag." They are sending me a Shirt, Hat, and Coozie! Still thought it was good info. If you ever catch one, be sure to measure it, and write the tag info down but leave the tag in the fish (if you release it). Then report the tag at www.outdooralabama.com/swtags. It really helps with research that greatly increase our fish populations and is very beneficial to the fishery and funding! (not sponsored by any one mentioned in the link above)
Hey Steven I don't know if you post shorts or have considered it, but the YT algorithm really likes shorts for boosting views. If you post that barracuda moment it might just go viral just like another commenter said. Great video man!
Been a long day, started to watch when I first got that bell ring notification this morning, but got too busy, so now I’m gonna sit and watch this before I crash for the night. I appreciate the privilege. 👍🏻🎣🐟
Best UA-cam fishing video ever! OMG! This is better than anything I've watched on TV. You do such a great job....with both your fishing and commentary!!!!
Steven, my husband and I LOVE your channel, you and your sweet Mom. I wish I had a shirt like hers, Got Bait❤️ Thank you for bringing so much knowledge and entertainment to our house. By the way, we are Subscribed again!
Hey my name is Jim. I live on the Mississippi coast. I love watching your videos. I learn a lot even though I’ve been fishing these waters my whole life. Thanks for the tips and advice. Love your channel.
Saw a lot of comments about your homecoming but could never get a good look at that GREAT 1st Cav hat. Thank you for your service and let me add another "welcome home." Ret. USAF E-8.
Those micro jigs are straight fire!! Mustad makes a 30g that has an assist hook and a treble. Cast it or drop it down. It doesn't matter. It's gonna get eaten!!! That cuda almost got you in the process. Cool video, keep pumping them out! Just bought a new 87" MK Terrova to go on my Saltwater boat.
This was a great video. That Cuba was amazing. Thought he was landing in the boat. I took your advice and checked my subscription and I was no longer subscribed? What ‘s with that? I re-subscribed. Keep these videos coming. Happy holidays to you and yours!
Just found your channel and I love it. I live in IL and wish I had your saltwater access daily. I also love that it's strictly fishing and cooking your catch. No silly gimmicks or click bait like the other guys I have found.
Hey man! I have a random question about taxes. I’m trying to become more savvy with tax write offs and I was curious if, as a UA-camr, can you write off expenses and gear when you travel and make UA-cam videos if you have an LLC for your channel?
@@BamaSaltwater yes for sure I definitely planned to do everything legally and through a cpa I was just curious before I started anything or asked them.
Stephen, I really like that you give us your rig for the day. I noticed that you often have a different rig on each video. Do you have a warehouse full of gear? Some of those rigs are several hundred dollars. Are you sponsored by someone who supplies you with equipment? Keep up the great work.
Another great video, thanks for taking us along for the ride, you’re the best!!! I watch your videos on the way home from work they make me feel good after a hard day!!
Always a great day when I see another post from you Steven! Love the channel and that Cuda was insane! We had one jump into the boat one time and they are scary when they are still green flapping around with an open mouth! Actually did some damage to the inside of the boat too! Glad you weren't injured and have a cool story and video for the memory! Love the catch, clean, cooks too! Keep up the awesome work!
Wholey crap Stephen! I was actually unsubscribed, and that ticks me off being that you're one of my favorite channels to watch. Thank you for the heads up! And that barracuda action was INSANE! Awesome video as always! And yessir, i re-subscribed! :)
I love watching you! just fyi, it says please subscibe, the r ran away like the barracuda! That was awesome!! Thanks for sharing your time with us!! Tell mom Hi!
I believe I would have had to change my pants when that barracuda slammed into your rig😂 I had to give up fishing in the gulf as the old bones just can’t take the beating any more. Strictly inshore and lakes Nowadays👍 enjoyed the video ole boy! Looking forward to your next. Have a great upcoming weekend. Tight lines! 👍🙏🇺🇸
Spectacular Barracuda attack I did some stop footage and I can't see how it didn't fall in the boat it certainly did some aerial maneuvers to get back in the water / You mentioned about getting hit with the Barracuda it has happened and there was a bite and it was extreme! I now would include more bandages even a pack of tshirts for severe wounds just in case of that fluke moment / That's just me and I'm not getting caught short of aid
I do not currently run charters but I do have a few friends that run charter trips I can recommend: 1) Southern Sun Fishing Charters (251) 714-3098 Capt. Love your videos! Loved the way you cooked the fish. It’s how we cook most of ours. We do our veggies straight on the Blackstone. There is a seasoning by Fiesta called Uncle Chris’s Gourmet Steak Seasoning. It is amazing on everything including meat or veggies. They have fish seasoning I bought but haven’t tried yet. You should try it. Amazing.
I have you in my subscription list but when I looked to see if I was subscribed I wasn't. Made sure to subscribe again. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.❤
I have been looking at those Daiwa jigs in the tackle shop but haven't bought any. Too cheap I guess. You are right about those hooks. If they had just put triple x hooks they would be fine. It is strange the Almaco's didn't go after the banana jig. We have had good luck with them. I slowed the video down to .25 speed and got a great look at the cuda. You were very lucky. On Sammy Hitzke's channel he had a wahoo chase a popper and from the bow the wahoo cleared the center console and landed in the stern of the boat.
Definitely some lite hooks for sure. I didn't work the banana jig too quick, I believe that's why. and these speedy fish like kings, cuda, and wahoo are amazing to see ! Thanks for commenting !

Our winter flounder fishing isn’t very good. As the females trickle back in from offshore spawning they don’t go to specific places so they are spread out and hard to target.

Another super enjoyable fishing trip. Thanks ! I played the barracuda attack in slow motion...he was almost in the boat. This footage should go viral
It was definitely epic to see and unexpected. Amazing how fast and aggressive they are
I also watched it in slo-mo and was an inch from being in there with you
