December 2019 - I came upon this series quite by accident. I am American born, have no connection with Korea - except that I am in love with the culture, and have Korean colleagues at my former University (I am 71). This delightful series has compelling characters, and really touched my heart. The leading actors are all excellent. We get to see this girl as she comes of age, and the things she endures, and her triumph. The 'house mother' is also a fine actress. And the intrigues and plots all kept my attention. I watched it until the very end. How great to find it on You Tube again!!!
You need to watch "dae jang geum" as some one who loves korean dramas and stuff. That drama is the best korean drama ever been created, i watched that maybe 7 or 8 times .

kihyonii....Yes, I agree with you. In fact, I already watched it 3 times and now will be the 4th time. I keep going back to the dramas of Ha Ji Won because I admire her so much. Empress Ki has 51 episodes but I watch it every year just like Whang Jin yi, Secret Garden, Damo and King of 2 Hearts.
