I saw the post and at first glance thought…. Great, finally an accessible sound engine for the Osmose…. This is where the focus should be. not more MPE sounds via plugins. Yes we have some good presets in the original engine but it is clunky AF to edit and even just get working. Lots of people have invested in this product and it would be really positive to hear that this is a priority for the company. I’m sure you’ve sold way more Osmoses than the haken continuum ever sold and some good news that you are talking to Haken about stepping out of their white coats would be wonderful. Love the keybed…. The rest atm hmmmmm….
Hi there! We are working on both topics but as you can imagine, reworking/revamping the editor requires a lot of time and resources. Stay tuned, you'll hear from us :)
Amazing. Sorry for the tone of my feedback. This is an amazing product and I do love it. Thinking about the perfect way to impliment this for my workflow would be to have an iPad app where you could edit the sound parameters of a patch with simple sliders and knobs or pair with an app developer like metagrid pro to create a layout for the osmose editor. Thanks for your reply.
Hi there! Do I have to buy the Phase Plant plugin separately before buying the Phase Plant Expressive Suite? Also, I’m a visually impaired musician. So is the plug-in accessible for visually impaired users? Because I wouldn’t want to purchase it if it is not accessible. Or is there a way I could test it?.
Does this have some expressive acoustic like instruments? (horns strings) How about keyboards for playing jazz? I like the built in osmose sounds but they definitely have a particular flavor.. can't wait for some more traditional sample based sounds with the expressivity of the osmose!
You'll find the stuff you need in the Phase Plant Expressive Suite. We designed it to be complementary with Osmose's factory bank. If you take a look at the Delicious, you'll see a lot of e-piano and keys sounds in there!
Hi Chris, The demo and the product looks incredible and promising. I just made the purchase and I don't have any MPE controller. Maybe I am missing something, but the sounds played on normal midi keyboard are totally different. Is there a way to utilize the presets just like a normal synth presets.
Thank you! We are sorry to say that PPES won't make much sense when used without an MPE controller. While the missing per-note pitch bend might be acceptable for you, you will lack all the continuous Pressure and MPE Timbre/Slide information. With MIDI velocity only, the sounds can hardly work as intended. You can get in touch in our website's help section should you want a refund according to our 30 days moneyback policy. Sorry that I don't have better news for you.
Awesome that you working with Phase Plant. Just so cool. One question: which port should be used? Port 2 works better than 1 which is strange. can you confirm?
You would always use Port 1, which is the External MIDI Port of Osmose. The messages sent can be adapted in the config menu of External MIDI Mode. Port 2 should be used exclusively for the Haken Audio EaganMatrix and doesn't send correct velocity messages to begin with.
This is designed mainly for Osmose, but will work with other MPE controllers as well. Unfortunately, Touché is not an MPE controller and the interactions won't work as intended with it, so Phase Plant Expressive Suite doesn't pair with our Touché controllers.
@@ExpressiveE Thanks for the reply.! Still a fantastic price for Phaseplant - but the expansions don't sound like they will be useful to me. Some Touché Phaseplant presets would be welcome, of course. Any plans for that? Or do we just make our own?
Great expansion presets for Osmose! It works perfectly out of the box with Logic Pro X. But I can't figure out how to make the expressive mpe to work in Ableton Live 11 or 12. I only get standard midi 1.0 without pressure, pitch bends and aftertouch. Can you explain how to set it up in Ableton please? Thank you!
Hi Pierre, glad to hear you can make good use of PPES. :) For Ableton, the regular workflow as described in our help article works fine: expressivee.happyfox.com/kb/article/265-setting-up-osmose-in-ableton-live/ Don't forget to right-click on Phase Plant to enable MPE Mode.
Hey! These presets are for Phase Plant. They will not run without the plugin. When we say "made for Osmose", we mean "meant to be controlled by" as these presets really interface with Osmose's expressive keybed.
I have the Osmose and these banks but from what I can tell there's no polyphonic control in Phase Plant - can you explain how to get individual notes to respond to PB and AT independently? Sure, if you press down on the keybed you can control timbre or pitch or whatever, but not per note. If not, then that's not MPE. There's an "MPE Timbre" control in Phase Plant but it applies whatever is input there to all notes. That's also not MPE. I've seen a few UA-cam videos discussing MPE in Phase Plant but they're not actually demonstrating polyphonic control, so they're also not MPE. I haven't seen any demonstration of MPE in Phase Plant and I can't figure out how to do it.
When I buy I get API error with CC ... also the price is pretty good. But only if you don't own Phaseplant yet. Also my coupon doesn't work. I dislike phase plant's price policy. I always feel tricked somehow. But anyhow - guess I want this pack :D
Hey there, there's also an offer if you own Phase Plant. It's live on our website too! But we don't want to tempt you or trick you into trying the pack ;)
@@ExpressiveE thanks for the quick reply! Everything seemed to work, however i do not have the 4 preset banks...just the base program!? NVM i made a ticket :)

Forgive me but you’ve been promising updates since early 2023. The Osmose doesn’t synchronise properly with editor. Doesn’t update when you change patches on EaganMatrix. I saw an answer you gave in January 2023 saying this was a priority. Nothing since. You have a as great synth which I love but still it’s software development is way behind. No new patch libraries from third parties is a clear indication that nobody has really got their head around the EaganMatrix. My Kyma system has made some effort with its Nord editor like features. Love it’s sound but it’s too impenetrable and confusing. Get the bugs fixed and improve the usability of the EaganMatrix otherwise sales will fall off as people tire of the one factory set. Please don’t answer with its a priority and there will be exciting new announcements this year. Or blame the EaganMatrix being an independent editor for Continium and out of your control. You shouldn’t have used it if it’s a dead end. It will come back to bite you. Extremely frustrating. Especially because I really do find it an exciting expressive synthesizer. Hire someone to get the software side together. Best of luck!
@100haymaker Hi and thanks for your various comments! We know you told us that we should not say to you that reworking the EaganEditor is "a priority for us" but it still is. Given its architecture and the size of our team, things take time to work on and we apologise if that has created frustration on your end. We do not think working with the EaganMatrix is a dead end as what it unlocked sonically was worth the sweat! People love the playing experience and now that we now the physical design, we're simply working on the software side. Osmose is a new kind of instrument so further developments logically take more time than what you'd have in more classic instruments. Bear in mind that Osmose is not a tech gimmick or cash grab: we fought for 10 years to develop it and we're still pushing hard to make it stay on the long run. We are collaborating closely with Haken Audio to tidy things up and make the preset editing experience as intuitive as playing Osmose. As we said above, these things take time but in the meantime we'll be working on smaller updates (browsing and external midi improvements,...) and MPE preset packs for other hardware and software synthesisers. We kindly ask you to bear with us for future updates! :) Thanks for being an early adopter and for supporting us.
