Excellent, detailed discussion. This discussion addresses specific passages in more detail than I did. I went for a more casual gloss of his ideas focused on the overall perspective of his thought.
I am also planning to check your channel for Pythagoras. Interesting figure from an ideological point of view. I am not an expert in all these. But sometimes I think is that most of the western world, is Greek. In a sense, all westerners are Greeks. Classic Greece to me was, is, and will be an idea and I think most western societies originate from these ideas, especially the Americans. Although I am not an expert to have a decent opinion, this is what I think.
The Americans took from Europe, that had taken from Greece. But it's the western Europeans that really took ancient Greek thought, analyzed it and came to conclusions. Greek sperm>West Europe>USA
I had a near death experience many years ago. I was told many things, and I asked, but will I remember any of this? I was told- some- and it would help to read Heraclitus! I had never heard of Heraclitus before.
There is life and there is death. There is no "experience" in death or near death of any "spiritual" kind, don't deceive yourself. NDE's are practically brain functions when the Nervous System is sub-optimally provided for. Some strange things can be experienced when it comes to the brain. Just weeks ago I was actually "dreaming" while not being asleep at all, seeing the constant changing of imageries and sceneries rush through my mind. Curious and probably the consequence of a lack of sleep the days before it.
@@jannieschluter9670Try as hard as you may but you are fooling yourself if you believe that science has the means to disprove the existence of spirit. Science is based on observation, that which is unobservable by nature cannot be proven or disproven
I also thank you for your opinion. I mean no irony or injury. I regularly try to think about this statement from David J Barrow (RIP 2016) Theoretical Mathematician and Astrophysicist at Cambridge: "A universe simple enough to be understood could not have created a mind capable of understanding it". I went to a talk he gave once, in Ely, Cambridgeshire. A man of extraordinary humility.
He seemed to have a instinct for the real nature of the world. The positive and negative the proton and electron. The numbers on the number line is the same The next number to come in the sequence are the change. One even one odd.
Brilliant discussion and examination of Heraclitus and his way of thinking about the world. Many thanks.

Thank you for these lectures.
Hello from Ephesus!
But is it the same Ephesus that Heraclitus came from?
