    Thanks for posting such an honest review. So many people hate this car because it isn't fast! Its not made to be a race car. I'm getting this car for the same reason you did, economy and fuel efficiency. Oh and also because its cute lol Can't wait to get my yellow baby on the road! 😁

      I liked the car allot, the dealer offered to buy it back because they ran out and demand for the car was high. They paid me almost what I bought the car for or I never would have traded it. I was skeptical at first so I went to their lot when they were closed and saw they had no sparks. When I bough mine they had over 20 sparks in front of their lot. I traded for Trax wich I like well to. I don't think the car will disappoint you. Thanks for the nice words on my review. Once I put a few thousand more miles on the Trax I will review it as well.

      Alot of the hate was related to the CVT crapping out early in the 2014 Spark models. I would get one with a 5 speed no problem though.

    We bought one new & my wife is pulling 40+ mpg with her 2014 and we live in the mountains, lol It's all about driving style in these gas savers. We love our Spark... no issues thus far.

      When your CVT craps out get a Mitsubishi Mirage next time. Same Jatco CVT, but better programming and reliability.

      Hi, yes sadly I let mine go because the Chevy dealer wanted to buy it back. I got a really good trade in on a Trax. I loved that one too! A year later I had to have a Chevy Colorado. I love this truck allot! It gets way better mileage than the Nissan Frontier I had a few years ago. 22 mpg in the city. I love this truck! I am getting near 20k and nearing 2 years. I'm delivering food for Uber Eats now. Before I hit the 60k left on my warranty I'm thinking seriously about buying a Chevy Bolt. I'm pretty well sold on Chevys now. They have all been good cars for me. I am wondering, how many miles do you have on your spark?

Im all about great products for less money then most guys my age buy and looked into the spark, but thinking im going for sonic as I build em....the tourer was a great priced motorcycle and reiable...unfortunately owned it only few months as decided since im debt free I really shouldn't of financed that bike even though was affordable an I sold it in one day with only 300 miles on it!! keep vids coming and continue ur health journey and Gods speed!!

      BTW I did actually end up purchasing one... very happy with it overall. When looking at it on a cost per value ratio it was the best "bang for the buck" I've received on a used car in a long time. Only "complaint" I have is it seems repair costs (parts prices) are a bit higher than I expected and most shops seem to have some difficulty sourcing parts. Fortunately reliability is high and all my repairs so far can be considered normal wearing.

    funny, i got rid of my Directions and Connections plan for a GPS with voice commands. i saved $100 a year with a GPS rather than the D and C plan, but i kept the OnStar Safe and Sound Plan, they have answered my dashboard alerts on several occasions (schedule appointments etc.) and have got me roadside assistance for a flat tire when I was 19 miles from nearest town, 57 miles from nearest Chevy dealership, 250 miles away from my hotel reservation with 6 hours of daylight and 125 miles from home. without OnStar would've got to hotel by midnight (ruined vacation) instead got there one hour after sunset. it's a lot harder changing/buying your own tires in a strange area when you don't know where you're going to sleep for the night. what's the point of sightseeing in the dark?

    18 grand for a SPARK :( Man, go BASE. These are meant to be an economy car. $9500. If you are going to spend 18 grand, a Fit is a much better car that will last longer. Shoot, I could get a Subaru Impreza, a Mitsubishi Lancer for less.. the higher end AWD one is only a hair more. $18000 is more than the EV model, that after incentives (depending on where you live) is $12,000-14,000. I am pretty sure all the same one could negotiate one of these higher end ones for under $14,000. $18,000 is NUTS.

    • @ScratchinMyAss
      @ScratchinMyAss  7 років тому

      Firstly, it's none of your business how much I spend on a car. Secondly, we have two fits in my family, one for each daughter. My spark has electronics including OnStar that Honda can't touch. Finally, when I sold the Spark a year after I bought it my Chevy dealer gave me back every penny I paid for it because they were in such high demand in it's my area. It was the same story when I bought this one. I paid a premium because I wanted one, period. So, you don't know as much as you think you do. Thanks anyway though for your input.

    • @djkenny1202
      @djkenny1202 7 років тому

      Why did you sell it so fast? I will admit, 18 grand for a Spark caused a knee jerk reaction. Double entry level is a lot. I only brought it up because you brought it up. I never knew there was a $4000 premium in some areas. Wait, they gave you your money back in a year? Was it a lemon law case? Not meant to be disrespectful, sometimes people pay too much.

    I am thinking about buying a 2014 Chevy Spark LS. How does your spark do driving during the winter and in the snow? I am worried that it may be a little unsafe, since the car itself is so low to the ground.

    • @ScratchinMyAss
      @ScratchinMyAss  8 років тому +1

      +Gabi Worcester Hello Gabbi. I'm in Houston so, no snow here. There is a traction control button in my car but I have not felt the need to use it so far. I have 6500 miles on my car so far and I really like the car. I am happy I bought it. We rented a Nissan Altima for a 1200 mile road trip recently and I hated it. Very uncomfortable compared to my spark. At least in the front seat, the car is roomy and comfortable. Very easy to get in and out of. I'm getting an honest 35 mpg all city driving. Have not taken any highway trip but I'll bet this little car gets over 40 mpg easily on the freeway. At 70 mph, it is only showing 2000 rpms and just 2700 rpms at 80 mph. 1 year and 6500 miles in, the car is quality in my opinion. My wife has a Kia Soul and I think many of the parts are made by the same company. At least inside the car looks similar in many ways. Thanks for visiting and good luck with your next car purchase.

    • @kylerider5519
      @kylerider5519 8 років тому

      Scratchinmyass I'm glad you love your spark but let's not lie and say the Altima was uncomfortable. It's third best selling car in the U.S. For a reason and being uncomfortable is not one of them

    • @ScratchinMyAss
      @ScratchinMyAss  8 років тому +2

      I have no reason to lie. I also feel sorry for many who bought that car. My family and I rented one, a newer one and drove it from Houston to Kentucky and back. We all hated the car it was very uncomfortable. We owned an early 1990 Ultima with the older body style and were very pleased. The new one we rented sucked. A majority of Americnans voted for Obama, twice look how that turned out.

    • @kylerider5519
      @kylerider5519 8 років тому

      +Kyle Rider well I had a 2014 Altima and I was unhappy with the quality of the car paint job and steering was heavy handed but the seats were very comfortable in my opinion of course loved the thirty eight mpg though. But next time I'm going Honda Accord if I buy in that class or spark in the mini segment

    • @ScratchinMyAss
      @ScratchinMyAss  8 років тому

      Kyle, I owned Nissan's for the past 25 years. 240 sx, Altima, Pathfinder, Frontier, X-Terra and an earlier Altima. In fact, we've had two earlier Altimas. All great cars. The late model Altima we rented last year sucked! On a long road trip it was very uncomfortable. Very hard to get out of the drivers door at least for me. We bought 2, 2008 Honda Fits and have passed them both down to my daughters. They are both in the 100K range and other than maintain no real problems. I traded the Spark for a Trax because the dealer ran out of Sparks and gave me what I paid in Trade after 12 months. Until these two cars, my impression of Chevy quality was crap. These tow Chevy's I have owned recently are good quality in my opinion. I would purchase another Chevy, I may also purchase another X-Terra next year. Good luck. I think Honda near me is less willing to deal on price than the Chevy dealer so I have stayed away from Honda. Only because of price not quality. Cheers!

      Hey, the dealer called me about a year after I bought it and said it was in demand and offered almost everything I had paid for it. I traded it for a Chevy Trax with about 7K on the clock. Never gave me any problems. Long term, I could not say. Accelleration was not great. I traded it for a Chevy Trax which I loved. Got 30 mpg, was a bigger car, good features, 6 speed auto/tran. I don't like the styling on the newer sparks. If they had had an electric spark I think that would have been a better car and zippy as well. I would not tell you not to purchase a spark; however, I would tell you to consider a Trax while you are shopping. Trax also has a cast iron engine block, not aluminum like the spark.

Engine reved up as you always have to in this car to stay with traffic and Bang. Dead engine.

      +sw9301 Well, only 5400 K on this one and I am having no problems. Doubtful I will put 40K on this car before I trade it for a truck. I live in Houston and the traffic moves fast around here. Seldom do I have to rev the engine past 3000 rpm and average freeway speed is 80 mph around here. Roads are mostly flat and this is probably a performance factor. At 80 mph, rpms are just over 2000 rpm. The CVT does rev higher on inclines but levels off after that. I'm not saying the car is fast by any means and I would not try to compare it to a honda V6 performance. I researched the car before I bought it. Air conditioning problems and oil leaks were the two main complaints. So far, I have had neither; however, in Houston heat the A/C struggles and when you run it with a 1.2 liter engine, the performance struggles as well. I don't use the A/C that much. Interior room in this car is unreal in the front seat and I often tell people it is an optical illusion. The electronics and the 8" view screen are terrific and I can even play movies from my smart phone. Overall, I did not expect a great deal when I bought this car; however, in many ways the car exceeds my expectations. I'm glad I bought it. I think I paid $1800 for the 6 year bumper to bumper warranty and I live 2 blocks away from the Chevy dealer where I bought it. So 16k is probably closer to what I paid for the car. I have driven Nissan's for the past 20 years. This Spark has changed my mind about Chevy's. I will probably got back to a Nissan or Toyota when I buy a truck because I don't want to pay 40K for a truck. Otherwise, I would have no problems buying a Chevy truck after owning this spark. If you don't like the car, I don't have a problem with that. Either I did not makes these points clear in my video or the car does not float your particular boat. Either way, thanks for watching the video and your feedback as well.

      sw9301 why would someone who wants a new car by a used car with 30,000 miles ? Guess you miss the point of wanting a brand new economical car.
