What a nice video! I'm amazed at how much stuff you carry on your bike - so well organised. Inspiring but at the same time it makes me realise how much stuff is needed for a long trip like this. 👍
Just discovered this channel whilst I’m planning my first bikepacking trip to Europe next year (a long one, since I’ll be visiting from Australia). There are so many amazing tips here! Your other videos are fantastic too. These videos are very good quality. Thank you 😊
Thank you very much for your comment☺ I hope you have a great time in Europe next year! There are many beautiful places to explore by bike. I will keep posting videos of some new routes I am planning to cycle in Europe. Let me know if you need any tips.
@@Buzzalong.cycling Planning to ride from Barcelona to Amsterdam, including the Via Rhona and the Rhine Cycle Route. I estimate about 100km per day. What do you think of that riding pace? Is it too much to then have energy to enjoy walking around the destinations each day?
@@SydneySlowRider that sounds like a great plan! I did Via Rhona and is beautiful, with plenty of nice places. I think 100 km a day is a good pace, it gives you enough time to do plenty of stops and still have time left when you arrive at your accommodation or if you decide to camp outside :)
in regard to 5:27 pocket bike bag; In Belgium you dont need to pack your bike on IC trains, just an extra 4€ fee (via the nmbs app), in France you can get your bike on TER trains without packing and free of charge. On the TGV trains packing is needed.
Many thanks for your comment Sven, when I checked they wanted to charge me for the bike because of its dimensions, it said only if is a foldable bike is for free. Maybe is just for long-distance trains. As luggage was for free with the bag dimensions in all cases.
@@Buzzalong.cycling in Belgium its 4€ on all kind of trains, but i guess touristst will use IC trains ( longer distances) in France free for all bikes on TER, but not on TGV, on the TGV trains packing is mandatory
Hi, Where did you purchased the arrow bar in your bike. I like the way you setup that because I noticed the arm rest is movable according to your position. How did you do that. Can you pls send me a link to purchase the same setup?
UA-cam just recommended your channel and I subscribed. I found the tip about the bag for public transport particularly helpful. It is a bit late now and work tomorrow, so I will come back to this one again as am also interested in the Apidura frame bags. They are a good match with your channel name with the 🐝logo! And your logo design looks really cool 😎. Keep up the good work and I look forward to checking out your other videos!
Just watching you makes me smile. You’re so silly. You have inspired me to do the Eurovelo 15. I am currently in a hotel room in Worms, Germany. Thank you for your inspiration. I think you said you were from Colombia. It is such a beautiful country as well with (for the most part) very lovely happy people. -Ben, from Alaska 😊 👍💥
Item 16: the pocket bike bag (@5:25). I didn't know about that. You have to pack your bike into some sort of bag in order to be allowed to carry it on a train or bus or even to take it into a hotel room? Very good info. Thank you for that.
yes, this is one of the most useful items! the bag fits exactly the requirements of most buses and trains in Europe. I believe you can also use it if you travel by train in Japan :)
Thank you for this video! It's a bit overwhelming how much stuff is needed for bikepacking :) but you''re doing it like a pro! If you don't mind me asking, as i also want to gear up for bikepacking trip, what would be the budget to acquire all these essential items?
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your comment. You don't need to get all these things at once, I accumulated them over time and after a few bikepacking trips you would get a feeling for what you need. Depending on if require camping gear or not and also your budget, I would say with no camping gear between 200 euros and 500 euros for the essentials. I like to invest in good quality products because long term they are cheaper as they last longer, I found sometimes when you buy cheap you pay double ^^ You also have the option of buying second hand bikepacking bags which is significanlty cheaper, here is the link to the Apidura revive program revive.apidura.com/. Hope its helpful :)
Very useful and interesting, thank you. Btw, maybe a silly question, but how do you do the washing of the clothes if you go for longer trips? I suppose in Europe this is easier.
Thank you :) I actually booked an apartment with a washing machine for 1 night, it was enough to wash all my clothes as cycling clothes dry normally overnight, but you can also wash them in the sink and a little TRICK roll the clothes into a towel and squeeze them, it really helps to dry them quicker
Thanks for the tips! I got a question about the top tube bar. How do I know what will fit my bike? are they normally standard size or they come in different ones?
Thank you :) in the case of Apidura you can go to their website and select the bag that you want, then they have a size measurement option where you introduce the size of your frame and maybe the brand and they will tell you if it fits or not. Apidura also has an illustration with the measurement of the bags so you can measure the triangle of your frame and check if it fits. That's how I did it.
Virginia Tech University does a bike helmet ratings and the specialized evade III ranks only at 41, whilst the evade II MIPS and s-works evade II ranks at 130 and 170 respectively. Not a good score. Best part was the slow motion hair brush 😉
You could be talking about a bucket of dried up paint and I'd still watch your videos, amazing 😉
thank you! :)
That's fantastic. I thing that your glasses are as expensive as my bicycle. I love bikepacking.

What made you choose to go with a saddlebag that mounts to the seatpost as opposed to a bike rack above your rear wheel?
Many thanks for your comment, I chose this saddle bag because it is lighter than the bike rack ones and it is easy to mount :)

Many thanks :) yes, I am planning to a video about my bike set up soon.
I tend to take way too much.
Like towing a caravan.
^^
Have you got the kitchen sink in there? Tell me, what’s your thoughts on a handlebar bag? L
Nearly ^^ I think they are useful, good for items you want to have at hand. However if you have aerobars I prefer the aero bar bags :)
I’d like to go
On a trip if you can lead.
Thanks :)
