Hello! Who would've thought I'm an Electric Callboy fan too. Though my comment might not be as long (spoiler: it was). EC are in my top 3 along with Babymetal and Rammstein (and Hollywood Undead). The name change was actually started after they applied Pump It for this year's Eurovision. This gained them a lot of traction and so many pointed out the name. Esk*mo is a slur against the Arctic Indigenous, but in only recent years it gained more awareness. EC was founded in 2010 in Germany so quite a few years ago. At that time there was also a German ice cream brand named Esk*mo so yeah no one really thought of it as a slur back then. But they changed it. Pretty sure around the time you recorded your video they posted one talking with an anthropologist who explained why Esk*mo is a slur and a harmful word. Then another video announcing what name they'll changing into. (Also in the same video they said that David their drummer was helping Ukrainian refugees here in Poland, taking them back to Germany which I think is really sweet and says a lot about them). As of 2020 they have a new singer Nico for clean vocals. The previous one nicknamed Sushi left and started his own career as GHOSTKID. Nico's first song is actually Hypa Hypa which I really recommend. And recently released Spaceman featuring the German rapper FiNCH. Now to comment your video. Yep, they are intense and different, but so fun. I watched a cam from their concert in Cracow from last week and they go hard and so fun. Their genre can be described as Partycore/Party Metal with electronics, heavy riffs and dance-y MVs. They don't take themselves as seriously, but I can agree that Pump It video is very distracting with well. Lots of Ass. They are meant to be colorful with that 80's vibe to them. But they do have serious songs! Hate/Love and Crystals are some of them. Pump It was deemed to Radio Unfriendly for Eurovision, but still managed to play live on German TV (It is Very Conservative). I do hope you'll come around to listen to at least another song like Hypa Hypa, We got the Moves or Spaceman. (Pump It isn't my personal favorite tbh. Best Day and Calling are) but there are a few live versions of songs on their channel.
Actually the name was already a thing long time before the ESC application. This song is a pretty hard sell for me as well. If this is your first song with this band, I can truly understand the mixed feelings. It's just not as good as some of the others they've made. Watch/listen to "Hypa hypa", then come back to this one, and you may have a lot more appreciation for the music, style and humor.
Not to find your distress hilarious, but… yeah, seeing you go all “is this the real life” was pretty funny. As an 80’s kid, I find them pretty fun to listen to every once in a while, but not more than that.

They changed their name because the people that live in the Arctic consider the term racist. It was applied to them by Europeans; they didn't know other, neither did I. But when they did they changed it. Ok so it's supposed to be humorous. Think of it in the same sense as Leo Morachioli . They are in fact excellent musicians that choose to be silly. I've actually seen them try to be serious and while still good musicians they aren't as creative. Obviously I disagree with you in this one, but first time I didn't care for it either. To some extent I get what you said about the video, but it's what they do. I'd have given a score in the 8s, but taste varies. It's not for everyone (see the comments about Eurovision) Anyways honest reaction!(I actually agree about videos in general they can be distracting. I'm from the pre MTV generation. I do think they try to take atrocious genres and forcibly stick them in your head and hopefully like it. Some will and some won't.
@@carstenhedwig4423 I don’t agree with you, but that’s ok. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
EoD

@@obud3777 and i dont agreed with you, its all about the woke Cancel Culture, If they changed the Name, they will be canceld eberywhere. Like some other German Singers before. I called it censorship and non democratic.
Cool)
The video is funny. Music is good.
Eskimo - derogatory to indigenous people, they decided to change their name.
Leo has a habit of covering the worst earworms and doing the same thing, but it doesn't always work and I"m a big fan of his. Shrugs)
Oh, did the Inuits write them a Letter? Or is it more the cause the left extreme and Woke Cancel Culture want it and they dont have enough nuts?
Its considered racist by white middle class college students in america.
Literally NO ONE else on the planet, including Eskimos btw, think so.
Really should have watched We Got The Moves by this band first

Du gehst bestimmt auch zum Lachen in den Keller!
Honestly i thought you'd give this a 5.0. 🤷
Dude you have no idea 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
More electric callboy please lol, this is probably one of my least fav of their songs
Lighten up man.
What's the matter, can't handle someone's actual honest opinion?
@@THEDavidHeretic What i'm saying is just to laugh it up and not taking it so serious 😂..
You make me laugh instead.
I apriciate your honest opinion. So you are a pure metalhead. Nothing wrong with that. Sad thing is. EC Fans are really annoying and will get on your nerves to do more EC. Hahaha. Like me. 🤓 More more EC. 🤣
whats wrong with the 80s dude did something happen to you back then 🤣
Very 90s to me
Dr Acula did it better
Is thgis an actual band or some video models fronting a record company gimmick. Absolute garbage
