@TRIBULATION IS COMING You are preaching to the choir. I already submitted a reply to the OP talking about about ACTUAL racism in East african countries by Arabian powers. As well as the hereditary sex/child labour of spiritual servitude. Y'know, REAL racism and contemporary too. But Jade and the other idiots in the thread would rather talk about imaginary racism in nebulous circumstance, that people like George "kidnaps pregnant women" Flloyd put himself in.
@Jade Jene' btw thanks for reporting my comment and getting it deleted. Read a book, scumbag.

TRIBULATION IS COMING are you white or white washed? Yes, my ancestors did make deals with the Euro’s. It was ULTIMATELY exploited by the White man. I’m sure some Europeans never went to their home land but would you tell them to stop claiming their ancestors? Italian-American, German-American.... I speak on behalf of Genetics, DNA. Doesn’t matter where I’ve been or what soil I tread on. Africa is the beginning of all civilization. I will give it props, just as much as Eurocentric ideals try to steal, exploit, and perpetrate it.

I grew up in Texas and Juneteenth was always a BIG holiday growing up. I remember in 1980 when they passed it, I was 10, but even before then it had been celebrated in the community. Once I grew up it was interesting to see that it was not such a big thing in Cali or NYC where I would later live. But yes this was a great explanation - easy to digest.

Yes, agreed Mental Slavery is running rampant and it doesn't discriminate in color. To say that African Americans are still slaves in America is a slap in our ancestors face who died and were tortured for our freedom.. They would do soo much more with an ounce of freedom you currently have. There are so many opportunities that they did not have that coincided with actual laws that made it nearly impossible to get out of... If you are contained in mental slavery its now time for you to try and get yourself out of it! Don't think so low of yourself ..yes there's discrimination, racism and ignorance still in America. However the only actual enslaved people are the ones being human trafficked in our country forced to have sex and/or work as servants without pay. (This includes men and women)

Just like she said it's mind conditioning some people didn't want to let it go, some people can't let it go. To sit around now and think that things have changed then why is it that we didn't know about it until now. Because there are people who still don't want you to know the difference of freedom. They trap your mind so that you feel like you can't be free from them. This ain't just physical slavery this is also mental slavery. Stay woke was a saying for a hot minute seems like people are being lured back to sleep. Pass the message along don't be selfish and keep it to yourself. We have to completely rearrange how we teach children the history of this country because no one ever taught me anything about this in New England back in 1982 onwards. This is clearly messed up. It’s also dangerous to forget or rewrite history because it has a good chance of repeating again and again and again. Black Americans of the Northern, Central, and Southern hemispheres have largely been robbed of their history just as most Native Americans have been. The Jewish Holocaust survivors understood this and have been hammering this point home since the end of WW2. And still there are deniers. It’s still not something many students get to under in a full and intelligent way in public schools. Now try to see how much you don’t truly know about racism when it is taught as a past tense solved problem in school. It’s mind blowing how much we don’t know and how many dark secrets and amazing tales of heroism we’ve yet to discover on a national level.

@@joelquinn2037 Well, whatever you turn up, you have to ask yourself what you're trying to do with that information. If you're trying to somehow discredit Lincoln, I'd want to know *why*. We all know that "things were different back then" in many ways. But, in judging the men of the period you need to look at who was willing to buck the status quo, which at the time was perfectly OK with the idea of keeping certain men in bondage, and profiting from it. Lincoln is known to have been somewhat conflicted, politically if nothing else. But, unlike his fellow southern Americans, he was willing to use the power of his office to *change* it. They, meaning the southerners, on the other hand, were willing to go to war NOT to change it.

There is a reason that our GOD allows us to go through the horrendous trials and tribulations.
(Read the entire book of Jeremiah, especially the middle chapters and also the 28th Chapter of Deuteronomy).
If we truly are GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE. We have to do things HIS WAY.
FOCUS on GOD--and NOT our problems.
GOD'S message to ALL BELIEVERS IS---and herein lies OUR POWER:
      2 CHRONICLES 7:14:
THEN if MY people, who are called by MY NAME [belong to ME], will HUMBLE themselves, if they will PRAY and SEEK ME and stop their evil ways, I will HEAR THEM from heaven. I will FORGIVE their sin, and I will HEAL [RESTORE] their land.
(HE DID IT for the RIGHTEOUS Kings in the OLD TESTAMENT.) (KJV )

You cannot discredit the effort and the value that the man had in the continuing of the movement toward’s freedom and equality. Did you even hear what she said about how they tried to keep us enslaved? That was through Jim Crowe and Other unfair laws. These two major events, are extremely important. There’s absolutely no need to limit ourselves to a single holiday, and minimize the efforts of one our great leaders.

But I can always tell on the people of different communities for some type of encouragement and support. And I know I'm just rambling on at this point but I feel like I should put this out there for those who might be giving up hope. The moment we let go of hope is the moment when all hope is lost. So I'm not giving up on fighting for Social justice reform, police reform, and civil rights and justice for all. One of these days we will get there. Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 is a beautiful Island with a strong culture, and loving people. I have been all over the Island. Once I was at look out mountain in Coamo were the Island natives would watch for the Spaniards and when they saw them coming they ran and hid.
Being young and dumb I laugh it off. Then one day in San Juan I looked at the Fort and the light bulb lit up. I said the Spaniards didn’t build this with their labor the used the natives through slavery. The Taino Indians.
There is also a town in the southern part of Puerto Rico where escaped slaves from the Caribbean were allowed to live.
Puerto Rican’s were given Citizenship so they could be drafted for WW1. At a funeral in PR I could not believe all the Veteran Graves in the Cemetery.
I use to say you’re in America speak English. Spanish is the First Language learned in PR. I now say if you fought for your Country (America) you can speak what ever Language you want.
PR is under going Gentrification. Don’t loose your home land.

He was OPPRESSED, and your disrespect to a MaN who went through struggles, and yet tried to hold his head to fight for so called Blacks was totally disrespectful. He was still considered a YOU KNOW WHAT although he was of a mixed race. They didn’t make that “1 drop rule” just to be cute. FREDERICK Douglass went through the struggle...for without struggle there is NO progress. You better check yourself and RESPECT your elder trails blazers.

Thank you for sharing! It's sad that they don't teach this in school. They don't see anything wrong with showing videos and Books to high schoolers that hold the graphic beatings and lynching of black people. Did they even ask how we felt about seeing that while sitting next to a white friend who happens to be our best bestfriend? Well the way I felt was like I was the scum of the Earth and embarrassed and somehow owned. Those horrible teachings of the white man's history on black people toppled with the bullies I had been dealing with at the time was just overwhelming. Let's just say I am glad I chose life! July 4th isnt really America's independence day. Just like Emancipation Proclamation isn't slaves independence day.
Declaration of Independence was only a declaration. It wasn't reality. Britain didn't recognize that declaration like the Confederacy didn't recognize the Emancipation Proclamation.
    Freedom is fought for.
Thank you for making this video. As a white person, I never learned about Juneteenth until last year.

@v. w. I have a lot to learn about everything. I don't know everything about even one subject.
I'm not aware of Black Wall Streets. I do know Tulsa has a history of being extra racist.
May I ask why you all caps BLACK AMERICANS?
This is my thoughts about naming. It's not right or wrong.
I say Blacks like I say Whites. Not African Americans because we dont call some whites Russian American or Nederland or French American or European American. And not all blacks have ancestors from Africa.
Nor do I care to say Asian American. Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, they all have unique culture and identity. I don't like to bunch it up in just Asian. Like Africa has many cultures. Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya, Namibia. All have their unique culture, why just bunch them up in African Americans.
Also, we are all Americans. America is a melting pot.
Juneteenth is specifically American. But when talking about black racism as a whole, its world wide. Europe had huge slavery. And yes, they abolished it 30 years before America. Neither did they have such a huge war to do so. Europe also had civil inequality after slavery.

The "enslaved Africans" who were set free on Juneteenth are the real Biblical Israelites. Negroes and Africans are not the same people. Negroes are from the seed of Shem and authentic Africans are Hamites. Negroes who were enslaved and scattered throughout the four corners of the Earth by way of slave ships are the Israelites that you read about in the Bible. Deuteronomy 28: 15-68 and Leviticus chapter 26 outlines the curses that fell upon the children of Israel for breaking the covenant with The Most High; Psalm 83 exposes the nations who hid our identity; Joel chapter 3 details what will happen to the nations who scattered and sold the children of Israel; and Genesis 15: 13-14 talks about our final 400 year captivity (also cross-reference the reading of Genesis 15 with Congress Bill H.R.1242). Shalom.
