- Man... did this one get us
We knew going in we were going to get a more fleshed out Bill and Frank storyline, but we stupidly did not prepare ourselves for what we actually got
Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett gave incredible performances and offered a perspective in story telling I will never forget.
This episode was perfect for us, 10/10

Both Murray and Nick play piano well; in fact, Nick is classically trained.
Fun facts: one of the soldier's voices when Bill is in his bunker is Craig Mazin.
🍓
The production was happening during the COVID pandemic so Murray Bartlett auditioned via Zoom. He did the "one last good day" monologue and brought Craig Mazin and the casting staff to tears over Zoom.
I held it together until Bill said "and you were my purpose". Then I cried like a baby
... a kindred soul, because that is the point where I lose it too!!!
And that was then followed by the "keep Tess safe" follow-up when you're still trying to get yourself together again...
Everything Bill said in this episode honestly made me tear up, Nick is just so good!
Definitely one of the best love stories ever told in the time the episode had.
An FYI on Franks condition. I watched a video that was a reaction by a medical Doctor. He said that judging from Frank's symptoms, and the fact that Frank seemed to be aware of exactly what was going on with him, it was probably either MS or ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), both nerve/muscle disorders and both can be hereditary so Frank evidently already knew the symptoms and what medications to take from memories of possible family members who suffered with one or the other.
on the HBO podcast, Mazin and Druckmann said they purposedly left the condition vague but they wanted it to be a muscle degenerative disease like MS/ALS so you're spot on.
No, he said it was Parkinson’s. You can also tell by the decline in his painting ability. My dad died from it and I knew what it was immediately.
@@judeless77 Don't tell me what I saw and didn't see. I know what the doctor said and he did NOT say Parkinsons. You must have seen a different video. Check your facts before being so quick to contradict someone....
I've also seen it posited that Frank may have had some medical training, perhaps as a nurse or EMT, due to the quick and calm way he treated Bill's gunshot.
This episode is definitely sad, but it's more sweet and beautiful in my opinion. Imagine getting to spend over a decade with the person you love most and when life is finally too much to bare, the both of you decide to peacefully end it together, in the arms of the other person.
17 years of living like kings compared to anyone else in this world, I'd say they won the apocalypse.
The meds are traded from Joel & Tess. They were trading goods that they smuggled in and out of the QZ.
Talk about representation! Finally a beautiful and poignant love story about middle-aged and senior gay men who weren't just background characters or comic relief. Thank you HBO & TLOU writers. I feel seen and hopeful. 🥰
4:51 He's reusing jokes... like a dad
They had a beautiful ending. They went out on their own terms.
You're the first reactors I've seen that caught the parallel between Frank's fate in the game vs the show. And I fully agree that this is quite possibly the best episode of any TV show I've ever watched. There's a two hour director's cut that they trimmed down to this masterpiece. Hopefully, one day they'll release the DC.
We need the DC!! I could do 10 more hours of Bill and Frank
I balled like a baby with this episode. It was really beautiful ❤
16:30 "A few more days.." [time jump three years later] 21:51 ALS.
I love this episode. Stop trying to sell love as special. Just realize love is special. I’m not gay but I want what they had. So tired of being told a story I have to buy.
Absolutely beautiful love story. There it is. And it’s all it is.
it was probably one of the best episodes in my recent memory of any show. Cant wait to see the next one with yall.
Agreed!!
I'm sure this has been answered, but at the garden party with Joel and Tess, Joel mentioned that he could get things they didn't have, like medication.
Never played the game but I have heard about Bill and Frank from the game, I am happy they made these changes, this was really good, although I would have liked to see Offerman and Ramsey together, that sounds like fun
The game version is great. It's a lot of fun. But did the show need even more bitterness? I don't know. Both takes are great in and of themselves. But the cool thing is that only one change caused the story to diverge: Frank and Bill finding a way to get passed their biggest disagreement. That changed everything.
Just an outstanding job of acting and story telling in this episode.
This was one of the most perfect episodes of Television, I’ve ever seen.
Absolutely one of the best episodes on tv ever.
My cousin played bass on that song for Linda Ronstadt.
No way! That's Awesome! Its become one of my favorites since this episode lol
I just have to say, since GOT...you two are in my top 10 reactors (music or tv series) the chemistry, the banter, the perspective. I really f$(ks with y'all 💙💙
That's super kind of you! Thanks for hanging with us all this time!
I thought I was done crying over this episode, then watching Addie, had me bawling my eyes out. 😥😥❤
Ive seen it through reactions so many times and its always tough to get through
The new Hodor episode lol
love the ending where yall realize this is episode mfing THREE. You guys are in for quite a season. LESS GO
"Do I ask for things...ever??" ... takes a drag LOL
Beautiful storytelling
Who needs a Mother of Dragons when we have a Mother of Dogs? Great reaction guys!
Hand's down the best episode of any TV series, anywhere, anytime.
This episode made me hope that they go off the beaten path a bit more often in Season 2. They did a great job of adapting the content of the game this season, but this episode was almost entirely a creation of the show, and it's arguably the best one.
Thanks, Dan! Thanks, Addie! 💎 This is my favorite of the first season. I'd say it ranks in the top tier of any storytelling, any medium, any genre. Unlikely love in the eye of a hurricane of chaos, no better tale to tell, especially nowadays. #DanWorrell #TheLastOfUs #TLOU #TheLastOfUsHBO
LMAOOO this episode fucked everybody up it’s crazy. We all cried 😅🥹
So excited for this one
If someone told me the most painful episode of television would be a show they make about The Last of Us... id say yeah probably.
If you told me the most beautiful episode of television would come from the same show... id call bullshit.
This was the most painful and the most beautiful episode of television i have ever seen.
I binged yalls GOT reactions and am so glad you two are doing TLOU together. This show was exquisite. I have not played the game, it's always fun to hear people who have played it give their opinions and see their excitement.
Someone give Addie a medpac...🙏😘
These women are free bleeding out here 🤣
Best episode of the show!
6:18 That is the question that has divided the fandom. Is the Fungus dominate are you -gone- or are you trapped in your mind with no mental escape. In the game you can find an Infected female softly weeping as she consumes another person; presumably a friend or family member. There is a real life condition called: Locked In Syndrome; truly sad. Bill & Frank an Epic Love Story we didn't know we needed. Thank you HBO & Naughty Dog.
I was waiting for this watch. It still wrecks me. Heart rending. And this is supposed to be about a video game…
Beautiful and hilarious edit @16:24. Chef's kiss! ❤
Great job you guys.
Thank you! This one took a while cuz I couldn't stop crying while editing lol
WHERE THE HELL DO I SEND THIS MED PAC😳
It's never stated outright if they're still in there. But there are several hints in the games that they are.
Here's a medpack
Most changes from the game, credit to Craig mazin. You should listen to the hbo podcast, more insight for each eps
As much as I would have loved Bill not killing himself so we could get the whole action sequence from the game, I have to admit this had more emotional impact and better reflects the emptiness of the world. They arrive to a town where nature is all that's left, much like the world.
@ 5:05 Be right back, going to rob a medical supply factory
Where do I mail the med pack? ;)
5:06 - What is a Med-Pack
& where can I get one STAT!!!
Ellie blames herself for Tess's death. Accusing Joel he would blame her is just her coping mechanism. This is Ellie, attack is the best defense for deeply hurt, insecure souls. Of course, she's still right at the moment, but Joel blames himself more than blaming her.
Ellie is not hostage either. It was not put in chains because of this, but to see if she changed. She goes along voluntarily or have you ever seen her protest against it? Nor does she make any attempts to escape.
Marlene has enlightened Ellie and she has made a decision.
5:06 I volunteer my med pack
This episode should, and likely will, go down in history as one of the most beautiful and painful episodes of television....ever.
*Throws a thousand med packs her way
i know shes watching it before
HOW DID I NOT KNOW that was the guy from White Lotus??? I watched them both at the same time and NEVER knew. He was so disgusting on WL
Not really watching the reactors that have already played the game. Just not as fun when they already know what's going to happen. But of course this episode is the exception!
Why does Addie have when I Cambridge University sweatshirt?
⚕🎒
Women's toiletry. You got your "new" material.
Great video, although that face on the pillow (Pedro Pascal?) between you guys is very jarring/distracting whenever it cuts away from the show.
I just feel like they put this episode just please some folks, but it seems to me to be a wasted episode. It really has nothing to do with the main story. Happy they had tie together tho.
