The video through the webinterface is really sluggish, BUT, when viewing the RTSP stream remotely, it's pretty good!

If you another firmware you can't use the wyze app.
@@KenVersus not really true. you can load the wyze rtsp firmware and it will works with the app and with VLC player. I just did it.

Does anyone have any luck with Xiaofang 1S (latest firmware 5.6.2.138) specifically? I tried a few times, but no luck in retrieving the RTSP video. I managed to get into the local IP settings etc but failed in video retrieval. Maybe there are some parameters need to be changed? Thanks.

I followed the instructions and it worked until I opened the browser (many different) , loged into the wyze cams IP and on the first page it says UNABLE TO LOAD IMAGE.
What am I missing?

Does not work with v2 as the cam will not update the firmware. Holding setup and powering on the camera does not produce the same blinking/color sequence you describe.

@@Bk13kvi Not yet. I'm running stock firmware right now. Wyze is working to enable RTSP so eventually, it will be enabled.

Argggg.... so I have a v2,... i found an rtsp demo.bin on wyze and also this one from openip. i try to flash but i get a single blue blink while trying to flash (it does some orange blinks, some solid orange,... a quick blue blink... then back to orange and some blinking and then says 'ready to connect'. funny part is the wyze site has a v2 link and this is supposed to work with v2 no? I can thinki of any other issue other then i'm using a 64gb sd card which i formated to 32gb fat32 and 4gb fat and still no luck. anyone else?

4s is pretty old so I don't know of wyze would support older ios versions.
@@KenVersus Went onto live chat with one of their techs and he said I could use my 4S as long as it had iOS 9, or later.

Great video. It's $37 CAD and the frame rate is horrible. if you raise and lower your hand within a second or two, it won't even show up on the video. So for live video, it sucks. Checking to see if your garage door is open or if there is snow on the ground, fine, otherwise no deal.
FPS frame rate is the number of frames the camera processes the image. I believe Wyze is 15 FPS, although good, 30 is much better, but uses twice the file size to transfer. Delay / Lag from the hand to your screen is caused by networking and the paths it goes through the internet.
I was able to get the stream working on my own but found your video while trying to solve a problem I'm having. I can't seem to get night vision to work. I'm aware that auto night vision not working is a known issue but I can't seem to get it to work manually either. We're you able to turn it on?

No it won't work. Wyze will block you from using the I cloud service

The RTSP h264 server is off on the camera controls portion. I can't turn it on. It keeps off.

@@evertonlucasflores8100 Wyze v1 was gloss while v2 was matte. I would try v1 with assumptions of them being the same.

There is no way as far as I know. Wyze can check if it's an official wyze cam.

Tried this on a "Nexht My Guard 8316" with no luck, it just erases the card. $20 Pan/zoom that looks just like the Wyze cam and I was thinking it would work...no luck.

No. It replaces the original firmware.

wyze will release an official rtsp firmware soon. It's in beta now.

Well it’s the same shape as a Rubik’s cube but no it’s not even close to that big.

For me it doesn't work. After try your way I couldn't connect annymore to my 5GHz wif. Now I can only connect to the 2.4GHz. Any thoughts?
Wyze v2 never supported 5ghz. Only 2.4ghz.

That is strange. Maybe try a different browser or test it with another device to see if you can connect. I haven't seen that error when I connected to my wyzecam.
dont use internet explorer, try google chrome or firefox. also clear your cookies

Does anybody know how to turn off 'speak' and 'listen' function?! It is pretty annoying that all the shared users can listen and talk! I'd like to share the screen only!!!
That is a good way of looking into this and I'm interested in the answer, if anyone has it or actually, if this can be done. Seems these Chines cameras are very powerful despite low price and it is the software that makes them handicap and disable!

Must do this and see how it goes. I've heard its harder to hack the V2 version after update and its better to buy the direct Chines one that are easier to hack. Is this correct?
Then My router (Warner / Spectrum combo modem-router) does not give me a list of client or list of devices used.@ 6:27 . How do I find the IP of the camera? Can anyone help me with this and is there a third party app that can show the list or do I need to hack that router too or figure out where they have hidden that list? Thanks,
Every router should be a DHCP assigned IP list. Or download an an android app called network IP scanner.
I have the xiaomi dafang ones as well. Both just as easy. But I prefer the wyze v2 since I can have it shipped to me in a day vs a month from China

NO, the audio doesn't work. Not even one way. Open with OBS and VLC, no audio.

after doing this mine seems to have a 30second delay.. its ridiculous and unusable
@@dreded7961 when i loaded it up back in september it was garbage then too. must be still garbage. i already threw my wyzecam away. i am going to just suck it up and buy PoE cameras. at least ethernet offers a better connection than wifi.
