Fire Department Connection Full of Debris.

  • During the five year internal check valve inspection I found a significant amount of debris. This indicates the FDC caps where found missing and where replaced without inspecting inside the pipe. Always inspect inside the pipe prior to replacing missing caps. You can use an inspection camera if needed.

    On one occasion while inspecting an FDC missing it's caps, as I looked into the connection, a sparrow happened to be looking out at me.

      This comment had me laughing then I realized I really should stop sticking my hand in there to clean them out. I used the putty knife, but it has made me rethink sticking my hand in there at all. Thanks for the laugh and reality check.
