      Nice! I haven't finished the videos yet, but were the parts that were chosen mentioned at some point? I'm curious what rotating assembly you went with - there are so many options! Do you have much piston slap on cold starts? I assume the pistons are 2618 alloy?

      JonnyCap if you have an Instagram I’d be more than happy to send you the entire build sheet to give you some ideas. Not all the parts are mentioned at least not all by name. No slap on startup to the coolant reaching 150, no knock or detonation either only tested that up to 4,500 rpm still operating on the tune for the old engine until July 30th.

    • @SavageProductionsCars
      @SavageProductionsCars  Рік тому

      @rerun4144 I believe it ran high 10s when we built it the first go-around. The big rebuild was a lower-budget rebuild of the same 416 just swapped into another block, then he sold it. So we didn't hear of any times from that rebuild.

      @rerun4144 Рік тому

      @@SavageProductionsCars would you happen to know the parts list on the second rebuild by any chance? By being a lower budget, i'm just curious as to what might have been skimped on, and what i may need to address in the future..

    • @SavageProductionsCars
      @SavageProductionsCars  Рік тому

      @rerun4144 by "lower budget", I just mean no extra new parts were put in it. We reused everything except for the pistons since they were all good parts. We also went down 0.005" on the pistons for the new block, so it's more like a 415 now. But there's nothing much to look out for.

    • @SavageProductionsCars

      An "actual" 416 or 427 is just a block that a machine shop bored out and put a stroker kit into. It's the same thing we did here.

    • @SavageProductionsCars
      @SavageProductionsCars  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah that's usually fine. It's better if you have a wideband o2 sensor and can confirm the car isn't running lean, but if you just bump up the fuel pressure or lower the timing to be safe, it should be fine for startup and light revving. This is what we did when going from the 331 to a 363 in my fox body.
