Today we share with you one added feature that you haven’t seen on a Texas Pride Dump Trailer before. We’re talking about the Honda GX 240 gas engine. The front steel locking box is where you usually find your deep cycle marine, and hydraulic pump along with a hydraulic fluid container, and 5 amp charger and a 110 power outlet that's on the side for charging your battery overnight, but this box is empty. The reason the box is empty is because the trailer is equipped with a Honda GX 240 Gas engine with eight horsepower along with the foster’s hydraulic power unit. There are a few benefits you get by owning this gas engine. First, having storage space. You’re used to having your box hold the brain and the heart of the trailer, but now you’re able to use it for storage space. Second, is going to be the battery. You will not have to worry about waiting till it's fully charged because you’re running off a gas engine. Lastly, being able to control how quickly your bed tilts up.
In more detail, let’s talk more about the Honda gas engine. Normally in order to start your gas engine you always have to pull on the cord but with this trailer the engine actually comes with a start unit. To start up is pretty simple, all you’re going to do is turn the key from off to start and it’s going to crank right up. To lift your trailer, you’ll have to go ahead and engage the foster hydraulic power unit. To get your power unit engaged you’ll start by looking by the engine to locate a yellow handle that’s facing towards you. Turn the handle to the side and you’ve engaged the system. Now on the battery system you will see that we always have a 15 foot power cord that’s used to power up and down to operate the hydraulic system. On a gas engine you would take the handle (looks like a joystick) and lift it by pushing up and lowering it by pushing down on the handle. Remember, the engine does not have to be on in order to lower the trailer. On cold mornings when it's harder to start the engine you’re going to need the choke. You can also control the speed that your trailer is being lifted at. On the motor you’ll see a hair that shows max and if you want to slow it down you see the tortoise minimal. If avagave speed is what you're looking for, just move the handle in the middle of the hair and tortoise. Furthermore, I know we are here for the awesome Honda GX 240 gas engine. We can not let you forget about the safety bar you should always, always, always have propped up when you have your trailer at lift especially if you plan on being underneath it for any reason. I hope this brief look at the Honda GX 240 gas engine rammed your engine up to get down here and G’cha one !

this would be even better with the hydraulic landing jacks. Also why not put the motor on a shelf on the lower angle of the upper neck support with a expanded metal frame and small cover / lid to keep it out of the elements.

Super cool concept, needs some tweaking though. Being a new product Im sure theyre testing the waters. I think it would benefit from a control panel. Put your valve, switches, and throttle all on one panel and put a gas tank somewhere lower. I wouldnt want to scale up onto the neck with a gas can.

I've owned different pieces of equipment that had engines and the element took a toll on them. I would like to see an enclosure around it.
Keeping batteries charged these days is really simple, keep a small solar panel hooked up to the battery and you're good to go.

Still seems a little slow...what would it take to speed it up more?

Looks like the handle might be in a spot that can get damaged. Is there a backup remote in case it does? Just a thought.

Don't like the motor on top where a bird could hit it or just out in the open where our lowlifes can see it. My luck would be it wouldn't start on a rainy day and having to climb on top to fix it. The lift handle needs to be able to turn in and not stick out. Other than that Texas Trailers are Great. I'm looking for a trailer right now....
