I have been collecting Marvel Select since 2011. My first figure of the line was Deadpool. So far I have 100 of the early Marvel Select characters and all are still in their original packaging. I just displayed them on my shelf according to their year of release and I plan to try to complete it all. Great review by the way.
These are the best figures from select. This, hulk, crimson dynamo, these bug figures with excellent paint do so much for a display at the price.
Crazy how I dont know you from a can of paint but I trust your opinion on figures more than my own 😂
I guess I've done something right
Here's hoping diamond select makes more iron man figures like iron monger
I hope we see Iron Monger soon.
I mainly collect Legends, but I do cherry-pick my Marvel Select figures. I mainly have big characters who fit with Legends scale-wise. And this is one of the Selects I happen to own. It's a great figure
This things pretty cool they've really been improving a lot with their quality over the past year or so, Really looking forward to their upcoming War Machine release.
Both. I collect all and everything that I like. Scale doesn't matter. I even have random 1/6 scale Hot Toys stuff standing next to the 1/12 stuff.
Honestly I wasn't expecting much beyond "looks cool" when I got it, but it blew me away! It is technically limited, but there is more than enough articulation to get various fun poses, especially since he mostly needs to look imposing and throw heavy punches. The neck really sells it, though. Something this big should be able to look down, and he works PERFECTLY for shots like that!
Anthony, I’ve been watching for years and always enjoy your videos.
I used to cherry pick Marvel Legends and DC Mcfarlane but had to sell my collection after losing my job.
Even though I’m no longer collecting, your honest and objective approach to reviewing is greatly appreciated and your passion really shows in your channel. I watch all your reviews even though I’m never gonna buy any of the figures lol.
Keep up the great work and God bless!
Thanks a lot for the support. Sorry to hear about your collecting situation.
Love this figure. Paint came off the hinges day 1 and the ankles wont hold the most basic stances more that a week. Still love it compared to a lot of ML figures.
I'm a cherry picker! I only collected the marvel select danger room backgrounds, and got rogue straight out when she was discounted a couple years back, and still use that head sculpt as the definitive favorite swap (even if the white hair is very grey because I haven't bothered whiting it out more). She's just got that look.
I collect both, but they are nailing it with these Iron Man themed pieces!
Hey Anthony, push down more on the head and it’ll pop on and the head will sit better and be less gappy.
I got it on after the review
It works well if you put it with 6 inch figs. A beautifully-sculpted fig that really captures the source material. Also it's a good bang for your buck. If you are building the Crimson guard team(formerly known as the Soviet Super Soldiers), then this guy actually fills in that gap. ML has already released several characters including 2 bafs for the team. The well-made Ursa Major,(the bear) and the Crimson Dynamo that doesn't really look like the classic version. MS actually more recently released it, and it's much better than ML's baf.
I am mostly a 7 inch (1/10) scale so I mostly do Marvel Select, sometimes there's a character I want and I can fudge it I would get a Legends. They look so nice together with the Storm Collectibles too❤
QoTD: I collect both. Thanks for the effort on this one. Even in its simplistic fashion, I still claimed it to be one of my favorite characters of the years when it first came out. I wasn't expecting much in tits ability to perform dynamic posing, as the character never had much in its lore from the comics. I believe this figure to be the perfect companion to Diamond Marvel Select's Crimson Dynamo.
99% of the Marvel figures collection is Marvel Select. They always had superior sculpt, accessories and paint applications. They had other problems before, main one being the articulation, but it's not like I'm doing some crazy poses with them. I buy Legends if there is no MS option for that character and it can fit in into the Select collection.
I cherry-pick Marvel Select, usually to fill holes for larger figures in my ML collection. I do grab the occasional MS of favorite characters like Cap and Spider-Man to mix in with my larger 7” scale figures.
If the Marvel Select figs were 6 inch scale I'd be more tempted.
This Titanium Man does look rather splendid though, and being that he's hefty (11 feet tall) in the comics, he looks the part.
The select figs have a superior finish to most of Marvel Legends, so that's a big plus. I'm not keen on the limited articulation. That said most Marvel Legends have poor articulation.
Good points
I'm a cherry picker with my figures.
Doesn't matter the line, so long as its the character I like and done in a way I think looks good.
Select I will admit I only go to that line for when I want my characters to be, BIG- usually the monster characters and the robot style types.
I collect both
My only gripe with Diamond Select anymore is that they only make a few new figures a year.
I think that's part of their licence restrictions, just like the articulation.
They can only release like 6-8 new Marvel action figures per year.
i tried to like selects. i had venom and dead pool. the articulation pissed me off so i gave them away. i did have juggernaut too but i used him as a paper weight until i sold it. edited cause of the not dynamic posing comment...which i would agree for most folks...but i have 30 figures on my gaming desk alone that i screw with constantly and change them out ever so often....along with a display case next to the desk that has about 50 figures that i re arrange about twice a month..lol. i do have some shelves that i put stuff up and dont mess with it more than maybe 3 times a year.. though...im in my 40s
This is the kind of thing you mix with 1/12 scale no problem.
This figure. This figure is the reason why I hate Diamond Select, got him new in box, out of the box his crotch was broken and the skirt is warped. Meanwhile I have never had QC issues that bad with ANY of the lines I collect. Screw the price on these things if there's a 50/50 chance they'll be broken out of the box.
Hasbro should do one as a BAF
Ever thought of looking at the marvel selects venom again? Been 11 years since your old review and i still think hes an awesome venom that often gets over looked by people.
Agreed, probably the best Venom figure if you ask me alongside the Hasbro movie Venom. Sculpt, proportions, etc are great.
I cherry pick, I lean more towards Marvel Legends but every now and then I'll grab Select figures that are on the bigger side, especially villains. I missed this one when it released here in the UK but even then I'm not sure if he'd fit on my villains shelf, don't think he'd have enough headroom, then again I wasn't super familiar with the character but a good looking figure is a good looking figure.
I only collect Selects. I like the scale a lot better.
Honestly if diamond select released more variety I probably wouldn’t even bother with legends
Chonky boy.
I don’t know the character at all, but it was so huge and so cool looking I couldn’t resist at $30.
I collect, mostly, Marvel selects and pick some legends to fill gaps.
I main Marvel Legends but cherry pick the selects....this one is awesome!
I cherry pick Marvel Select, I like my big characters to be huge. So I’ll have a Beta Ray Bill, Red/Green Hulk, Titanium Man and so on to mix with my Marvel Legends. Speaking of Titanium Man, he’s supposed to be huge, even on the MS package he’s twice Tony’s size , so scaling definitely works here.
Didn't you review this a couple of years ago???
No. I've never owned this before and i don't think i borrowed it
I looked online it says he’s supposed to be 8feet and 600lbs
I just looked. He's 11ft tall originally
@@AnthonysCustomsI just checked. He's supposed to be 150 ft tall.
Is this the best Titanium Man?
I used to cherry pick Marvel Select, but I find myself getting more and more select figures.
QOTD: I kinda cherry pick both but Marvel Select are FAR superior IMO
are you gonna review the tears of the kingdom link figma
yes
Could've sworn he reviewed this already...
I didn't
You're correct. 11 feet tall. Sik
Nice
I dont like the scale of marvel select. So the only marvel select figures I have are oversized characters like this guy Titanium Man
He looks so sad... am I the only one on this?
I have a marvel collection with Legends, select and Mafex. I only use select for the large characters, they look amazing and blend ok with the other figures.
Same it’s a cherry picking situation
Cherry pick
