Not really. Yugi and Atem are actually two separate individuals; Atem's soul was sealed inside the Millennium Puzzle for centuries.

Isaac Jones In fact, originally Yami was just a facet of Yugi's personality, split off by the knowledge and power he absorbed from the millenium puzzle, Jekyll-and-Hyde style.
Kazuki Takahasi dropped the idea as the series developed, and made Yami his own character.

I mean, that's not what it's suppose to be, I myself ship a small chunk fictional characters (often straight couples) that have some romantic interest hinted but I don't really make fan art of it, I just do it in my mind.
