Welcome to my first attempt at recreating a missing episode of Doctor Who using AI technology! This video features Episode 2 of "The Crusade," an iconic but lost episode from the classic series. I've used a combination of surviving photographs and original audio to bring this episode back to life, showcasing the improvements in AI reconstruction as the episode progresses.

This is my first attempt from about a year ago put together. Some of my more recent ones are better. Some people like Ian Levine have done some amazing work with AI. The tech just keeps getting better and better.

Why doesn't the BBC do this for all the lost episodes?
Thank you! So many people have said this. It’s quicker, cheaper and more authentic. I’m one guy with a full time and a 5 year old laptop, imagine what the BBC could do. 🙏
not too bad an effort. I think the VHS style quality is to not make it look so bad because it would look worse in high grade. I have seen a fake american sitcom AI that looks almost real but have no idea what AI program they are using for that, maybe these dr who AI might benefit. it most likely is the most expensive AI program. anyway at least some full dr who episodes are good to view, so hopefully more get posted
I agree. This is my first attempt and if you check my recent efforts you’ll see I’ve improved. The problem I had was I was still learning and was concentrating on getting the scenes done. Now I tidy up the photos and sharpen the images so the end results are better. Also, the technology’s moved on so that’s improved things too. I mainly uploaded this because so many people asked for it to be uploaded as a whole file. Check out my other work and subscribe to get regular updates. Thank you. 😊
@@kaptainuke the fake american sitcom AI is on the rabbi from another planet channel where he talks about the dr who AI and ian levine. I have no idea what AI that is but if you see the sitcom clip it does look like a real show-so let's hope the dr who AI will one day be as good as that

No offence, but I sure hope one day we can watch the actual footage rather than relying on AI
Totally agree. I just do these AI recons as a way of seeing the episodes in a better way. This one is difficult to watch from the Loose Canon efforts (although I am eternally grateful for them doing them). After completing this I genuinely had a new appreciation for the story and the acting. Please check out some of my other recons. :-)

So you remove the music for copyright but you are not worried about copyright when creating a whole episode! I know you have put for educational purposes but come on isn't the music also educational considering it was created by unconventional means and part of tv history. A very interesting take on copyright laws from what is acceptable and what isn't. Nice effort in any case.
It’s restricted because the BBC won’t allow the theme tune on this video. It’s still their copyright. My Doctor Who videos get flagged up for it but they’re OK with me using them. If there are any adverts I make no money from them even if I was monotized. I assume the BBC get a proportion of the advert money.
Still hurky jurky not too bad it is watchable.

Thing is this is missing it was found years ago and released on VHS video cassette I know because I had it on VHS and DVD so why didn’t you try episode 1 and 3 instead what a waste of time doing an episode that already exists
