I was planning on buying a 331P. But if a 335P cannot lift these two mid-sized stumps, then I probably need to buy that size machine. Can it really not lift that?
These are not mid-sized, they probably weight around 7,000 or 8,000 pounds guessing. The 331 would probably not even move the stump unless it was down hill. Definitely more power than the 333E we traded.
Please don't destroy that machine 😢 use hydraulic power!! Instead of ramming into it. All you need to do is use forks, bring the forks together get under the roots and and use ground as a leverage, by putting the ends of the forks in the ground and lift the arms, And don't force the drive motors to much, because once you start spinning the tracks you're wasting all your power. Been doing this type of work for the past 24 years 😊
The stump is too big for forks. The forks would have bent or broke trying to pull the stump out of the ground. If the machine cannot take what I did to it then it needs to go back.
Truth be told, a large dozer, (maybe a D8 size) with a single shank ripper with the tooth facing backwards, would have popped that right out and did all your dirt work too. Actually, a 973 with a backwards mounted ripper shank would have been even better. Carried and loaded the stump too.
Bring all the videos of this beast as you can. They’re awesome
We just traded our 333G for one, delivered yesterday, and I can tell we'll be pleased.
Nice machine. I have a 325 g and might upgrade to the 335 p next year. That should have been excavator job all the way.

I was thinking about renting a D11 or something comparable to move it around
