It should be noted that the front of the super Pershing is pretty much invulnerable to HEAT since it’s spaced; so a lot of field and low velocity guns won’t have effect on it.
Ooo good spot dude
@@SirJellyBeandid you also forget to switch around what rounds can penatration what?
edit spoke before you swapped the shell on the Jagdtiger.
though you really should have shown more spots we could have shot. the T-26E4 has like 3 different AP shells.
Which shouldn't be the case because spaced armor isn't magic, especially back in WW2 when HEAT munitions weren't optimized and detonation a couple of centimeters away from the armor actually improved their penetration capability. Spaced armor is good against conventional ammunition, not against shaped charges. Unless there's 1m+ space between the plating and the main armor, HEAT will simply zip right through unless it is a very tiny shaped charge (
@@SirJellyBean yo make another video on the feild mod sherman. for some god damn reason it bounces KING TIGER SHELLS!!
and the regular tiger stands no chance!
The US Army only experimented with heavy tanks during the war because of belief-later proven unfounded-that the Siegfried Line was going to be a formidable obstacle. All of the designs the Americans toyed with proved to have serious engine and drivetrain problems (overheating was a ubiquitous problem) and were cancelled when it became obvious before the Invasion that the Westwall was not going to materialize as a serious obstacle to a penetration of Germany and the Rhineland.
Encounters with the Tiger Tank in North Africa briefly renewed interest in heavy armor Of the American designs to match only the Pershing showed any promise as a battle tank (the British Churchill was designed with a completely different purpose in mind despite also being a "Heavy" tank) but it too was plagued by an unhappy engine/hull combination with serious fires and breakdowns being normal for it. The Pershing did not long last in US Army inventories for this reason and never fully replaced the Sherman which outlasted it until the M47 Patton came along to replace them both.
Thanks for the great info dude I appreciate it
Sir Jelly Bean love your channel watch it for hours every day as I play the game.
Thankyou dude your very kind
Would love to see maybe like a field gun or artillery gun guide for the new USA units! They tend to be my favorite units to use just super satisfying when they do hit🤩
It shall come soon brother
The super Pershing will do better against the short 75mm panzer 3/panzer 4 as the low velocity gun simply cannot hurt the spaced armour with HEAT rounds.
Fun fact: the spaced armour used on the super pershings were made from the armour plates of panther series tanks. They basically took the functional plates from captured panthers and bolted them to the front of the pershing. The pershings suffered from lack of combat to properly test them, only a few ever seeing combat, I like the German and Russian heavy tanks that had been upgraded endlessly since they first joined the battlefield.
Thats a great fact very ingenious of the USA tank crews
For information it is Armor Piercing Capped Ballistic Capped - High Explosive. Quite a mouthful.
Ahh thankyou dude bloody too many words lol
I think some of the late shermans are for all intent and purposes heavy tanks
Like the Jumbo?
@@BunnyBun11yes
True but they still lack the power and strenth of the big boys from Germany and Russia
Good review and thanks Sir!
Thankyou Sir Hound
Is a new us conquest video coming today aswell?
Tomorrow dude
@@SirJellyBean thanks mate, already hyped for that
This is one of my biggest gripes with the US tanks. Im always scared to see any heavy or super heavy german tanks because i know US tanks are just no match usually. : / M3Lee my beloved can only do so much
Yeah got to use superior tactics to win my friend
sheeeeeesh
???
very interesting good sir
Thankyou Sir Tea
Anyone know why the artillery works sometimes and others I get waxed because it won't fire makes the game frustrating.
Yesterday in a co-op conquest match our artillery friendly fire killed more of our allies than killing the enemy!
Not seen this yet ill try to investigate
Pershing vs Tiger?
Tiger for me
Here is where i put my heavy tanks, IF I HAVE ONE
- US Tanker circa 1944-45
I mean i think the Sherman armed with the 76 can compete with the majority of heavy armor that the Wehrmacht fielded and not to mention allies air power
fair point lol
@@ch-53esuperstallion76 expecially if it is M4A3E2 (Jumbo) with 76mm. Although mechanics did not like it because tank's suspension and transmission was not made for added weight.
Not trying to be rude i just thought i would let you know that the jagdtiger is pronounced yagdtiger
Ahh thanks dude my German is not good hehe
@@SirJellyBean no problem
