I was watching CSI the other night. They were in New Orleans. It was night time and a female FBI agent was being killed in her car. The background music was Yes Ma'am.
This is based on the tune "Trouble in Mind" by Fred Ward and the Grayson County Railsplitters, 1929, but with Matt Bracken's original lyrics, which is why it's so drop dead funny. His first few lines are identical to the Railsplitters version, then it gets hilarious. Perfect tune and tempo for his drop dead funny lyrics.
I've been listening to yes ma'am for so many years but I never got able to wrap my head about one simple lyrics line (from the D song, that Matt is also singing here) "I like my butter and I like my bread but........What???"
@@woody6791 "I like my butter and I like my bread, and I like me a girl that gives great hugs" is what's sung, *hugs meant to be an act that rhymes with "bread"
did you have a few other videos posted of this band? There was a video posted of Yes Ma'am that my wife and i are in. im trying to find it. it looks like your angle. i would love to find the clip.
Absolutely outstanding. Even better live.

"I like my whiskey and I like my gin, but the way I like my sister is a goddamn sin" 😄😄😄
He stole the idea from Cocaine Habit Blues, but it's a good steal!
