Fun fact: it was the original idea to let it work on gravity, just like almost all other (scale model) coasters. This resulted in too many problems, however, so I switched to this technique. As far as I know, this is the only design where this can be applied since all curves are bent inwards! (and so the cable stays where it belongs to be)
That's probably because it's not actually a roller coaster. It's closer to a cable car with a twisty layout, you can see the cable loop inside. If it *were* actually a roller coaster it'd have that problem, because scaling is kinda weird.
@@keiyakins Well, it’s arguable, there certainly exists “powered coasters” which are not gravity powered, but classified as roller coasters as well. Besides that, I would call this scale model a roller coaster for sure, because it’s based on a real one which certainly relies on gravity 😉 The technique I’ve implemented is only a tool to make it more realistic
Holy smokes! Such attention to detail! Even down to accurate station gates and the valley platforms to recover riders due to frequent valley issues will all coasters of this type. Operates just like the GIB coasters, too!
@@dustinhenderson7507 Good question; I just really liked the color combination, the compactness of the coaster, the complexity in technique and just...because this ride is absolutely epic! 😎
You should totally make more of these sets and sell them! Like do popular coasters like steel Vengeance or Top Thrill Dragster and things that as any coaster Enthusiast including me with love to buy these sets. Do they basically plug and play and snap together?
Thank you! It took me very long to model this replica, 3D print it, and assemble it (almost 3 years). Therefore, it would never be viable to produce these models as sets ☹️
This is very cool, and worth the technique to slow it down, so much more realistic, this is one of the most polished 3D printed coasters I've seen! Well done 👏
loving the thread idea, really gives throws the small scale off. i thought the footage had been slowed down as i know model coasters have a crazy scale speed.
You're right to a certain extent concerning the technique I've implemented now. Because all tracks bend inwards, the cable is "pulled" into the track. If I would have any track parts bending in the other direction, the cable would come out of the track, resulting in all kinds of issues.
This is insane. Such progress in model making tech. Now all we have to do is find a way shrink it size prefect to proportion, mass produce it, and create sets for kids. Man I would have killed for this as a kid. Incredible.
@@MRCoasters yeah it’s the same exact thing . Really cool build though . Feels so much smoother than a knex coaster . If you made sets for these and sold them , I would definitely buy it .
WOW, AMAZING. New follow, you are a crack, Im from Spain and I tryed this roller coaster in real life, its very good. Can you make future creations of spanish parks roller coasters please?
this is aftershock as well in athol idaho at silverwood i would love to some how buy the stls from you so i could build one for the theampark to have on display. this is really cool man. if i can ill buy the stls for non com work, i will not make any money off your stls, it would be a gift to gary norton the owner of the park.
I rode this when it was at Six Flags in Atlanta. We happened to catch it between 'its broken down' on a corporate night and all I can say is one ride was enough. Front row outside seat. Terrifying, but fun.
That's a neat way to get around the "unrealistic" look of model coasters. Then again, that's how models and scale work. Nonetheless, a lot of cool work. I assume a lot of SLA printing to get the curves as accurate as possible?
I love this video, I have known the attraction for many years. I would love to print it in 3D, could you share the files with me, it would be very nice of you. Thanks for sharing it to the community.
This is incredible! Perhaps your next project could be a full course one? Maybe something like a rmc raptor or an SLC (SLC since you already got the vekoman track)
I've this thing in real life and it is even more impressive. I was at the Maker Faire in Delft where it was showcased. I love the use of ptfe tubes as the tracks btw ;-)
Thank you for your feedback, greatly appreciated! Except for one shot, everything is filmed in real time. The view from 1:13 onwards gives you a good representation how it runs in real life 🙂
How did you get it to roll at a realistic speed? Extra friction, or is it motorized? Or just slowed the video down? Either way, mind blowing. Amazing job
Thank you! 😄 If you look closely, you can see tubing in the middle of the rail. A cable is running through this tube which is attached to the train. A controlled DC actuator propels this wire, and so, the train
Onride video: ua-cam.com/video/n9tvGuCmewE/v-deo.html 🙌🏼 + some extra offride footage! 😎
Man! I love how the speed isnt ridiculous too like most Knex roller coasters. It actually has a realistic speed

@@keiyakins Exactly! But I rather still call it a roller coaster ;-)
@@MRCoasters I mean, isn't a roller coaster by definition gravity powered?
@@keiyakins Well, it’s arguable, there certainly exists “powered coasters” which are not gravity powered, but classified as roller coasters as well. Just coming across this now, what an awesome quality printed assembly and the killer video/audio edits made this such a good watch
By far the most realistic and coolest model roller coaster I have ever seen!
Thank you! 😄
Wow so cool.

The attention to detail!
i'm obsessed with this. 10/10 i can't stop watching it
Oh my God this is sick! Absolutely love the color scheme and the build quality is insane. Amazing!
I like the color scheme as well! That’s one of the reasons I chose for Stunt Fall (before it was repaint)
Incredibly beautiful!
Amazing! Best Roller coaster running model I've ever seen! The speed is so realistic!
Thank you! Great to hear! 😄
WOW WOW WOW! This is absolutely amazing, looks and even feels like a Vekoma Inverted Boomerang, Greatest of jobs!
Incredible job! It runs just like a GIB!

This is one Awesomest Roller Coaster build
Always thought of having powered trains on a model track, but thought it would be impossible. Great execution!

WOW!!!!!!! Fantastic WORK!!!!

This is sooooo cool!!!!😮😮😮
Parque warner madrid would be proud for this one
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Beautiful. Amazing.
Coolest thing ever built, second only to a real rollercoaster
Haha thank you! 😄
That was awesome!! Roller coaster and 3D Print the best of both worlds!
This video is awesome! Some of your shots look flawless especially with the scenery added
100,000 out of 10 this is just incredible! I like this roller coaster!

Haha, but have you ever done a GIB? Those are relatively smooth!
That’s really impressive.
AMAZING! I would actually ride this if it was real
It is real 😉 You can find it at four different places across the globe!
Every little detail holy cow😮
I’m blown away this is so good it so realistic

Good job!
are you thinking of remaking something like mako or diamond back at swo or ks?
Dude, great choice for a rollercoaster! Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerangs are the best!
Yeah right! 😃

This is really cool! One of the coolest models I've seen! One suggestion, could you do less jump cuts in the future, it can get kinda disorienting.
