1st fish you missed right out of Cresent Was a koaknee, hard to keep those jumpers connected, luckily now that are all 200 ft deep in the middle by the dam, by the time we reel them to the surface they are ready for the net, some nice 4.5 and 5.45 fish yesterday me and my wife, took 2 guys out at 6:30 am when coming back in they were shore fishing, fished till 10am to fill thier limits included 8 bows biggest 6 lbs

Those Kokanee are as big as some kasilof river Alaska sockeye. And they haven’t even went to salt. Kenai river they average larger though. Catch some in the mid to high teens on some years.

Great video! Do you ever troll backwards on your kayak? I've been doing that on my Hobie and it seems like it is much easier to see the strikes and fight the fish this way. I've even used a bike mirror on my glasses to watch what is happening behind me and avoid getting in anyone's way.

Sometimes especially when fly fishing but in combat fisheries such as Lake Roosevelt or the Columbia forward is the only real option.

No leaded line. Just flat lined 100' behind the kayak

Question, what cooler do you use?

Kayak cooler/fish bags that I really enjoy have always been elusive. For Kokanee I use a Performance Fishing Gear cooler bag from Columbia but they no longer make it so I am still in the lurch on what's next.
