I have the same saw. Unfortunately the gear carrier (plastic) is broken. I do not know if the gear is pressed on or threaded. Do you know? Regards Robert

Be aware the parts house will use the Hitachi parts listing. Although identical saws, it is fifferent from the Metabo parts listing and you will get a wrong part.

I am going to trya gear puller today. It does not make sense that it would be threaded on.
Got it. Apparently it normally simply detaches. Mine was stuck against the keying split pin. Probably happened by impact from shipping damage.
