Good post. I do much the same with epoxy resin. Heat a bolt and coat it with wax. Fill a hole with epoxy resin. Press in the (waxy) bolt. Back the bolt out a few hours later when the epoxy is cured. You can always heat the bolt slightly, if needed, with a soldering iron. Now you have super good threads that can be remolded if they accidentally get cross threaded. Mine is a boat builder's technique.
Naturally, It is useful for light items such as clothes hangers and toilet paper hangers because its strength is weak compared to anchor nuts. Thank you 😄 당연히 앙카나 너트에 비해 힘이 약하기 때문에 휴지걸이, 옷걸이 등에 응용하면 좋습니다. 감사합니다. 😄
It's a decent idea for light duty but in reality you can thread into wood without glue or anything just think drywall is hung with screws lol now in light work on other materials it's not a bad idea
Exactly what I was thinking. I actually took a screw eye with threads like this (didn't have a screw lag) and put it in a ceiling joist, directly in the wood, and it was able to hold a surprising amount of weight on it (over 200lbs)
@@JonathanHolt1988 yes bro I've pulled car engines with the same as your talking about lol carpenters and etc ..use lag bolts to hold beams and logs and etc ...the glue in wood isn't a good representation of the idea but if it's some different material then maybe yes

I liked it! I've done similar things. I love hot glue. It's very versatile when making prototypes. And it also comes in handy for problem-solving. This video could use a part 2 showing strength testing.
They use a similar process when placing roof bolts in coal mines. The tube placed into the hole drilled into the coal has two separate compartments containing a resin mastic and a catalyst paste. Once the bolt is inserted it busts the container causing the two to mix seating the bolt in place.
Great concept. There's much harder melting glues out there that could make it very tough and durable. Bohning Ferr-L-Tite Hot Melt Adhesive Stick is what we use to mount arrow shafts to the arrow heads. And I just tried it, and it's like a really hard plastic once cooled.
I've done this with stripped bolts on cars, just pack it with jb weld and thread your bolt in 3/4 of the way, wait til almost dry but not quite, thread all the way in, then when it dries, it's tight! When you wanna loosen it, comes right out and back in. All your doing is basically creating an anchor into the material you are bolting/screwing into. Nice video! You are a "thinker" and not too many of us left these days lol.
I like the idea of hot snot but I've used toothpicks in many a stripped hole. Just jam a couple in, run your screw and it's solid enough for a door frame.
I wonder if you could do the same thing with a stronger glue. Maybe mixed epoxy or JB weld would be stronger. Would be interesting to test how much force it takes to rip out with the threads in the wood vs hot glue vs other things. Possibly some wood glues, superglue etc.
