Not only did you just help me find new vegetarian recipes I want to try, but THANK YOU for the content you’ve been putting out recently, its been making me feel less alone/insane in quarantine, and its inspired me to try a few different hobbies like puzzles and coloring again.
Does Ryan eat vegetarian as well? I really loved how realistic this was. I can’t stand the aesthetically pleasing cooking videos. No one cooks like that!!
When I first went vegan I found a lot of recipes really intimidating because they had so many ingredients that were unusual to me and not available in your average supermarket/grocery store, so it's really nice to see recipes like this that are simple and accessible and easily adjustable to vegan from veggie.
I'm so used to seeing people either not know how to cook or be pro chefs, it's so nice to see someone that likes cooking but is still like average, you know? It's nice to relate to a cooking video for once lol, will definitely try that chickpea pasta!
All looks so good! Quick suggestion: for the chiles rellenos, try and coat them in some flour before putting them in the egg mixture. Helps the egg stick to the chile better 😊😊
Tip on the beans when you’re boiling them add half of an onion and add more water my mom does between 3-5 inches of water above the beans, so the beans can stay whole instead of coming out squished (unless of course you like the beans like that)
The amount of people I’ve told that havarti is my favorite cheese and they have no idea what havarti is is shameful lol, so I’m glad to see someone else that even knows what it is! let alone it’s their favorite! 🧀
My family always gets different cheeses from the deli, and my bf at the time said he like coming over cuz we always had "exotic" cheeses XD And it was just stuff like havarti or munster or swiss. I'm like, you've never had it?
For the tray: make a paste of baking soda by adding a little water. Let it sit for a minimal of half an hour (you could do overnight if necessary) and clean with water. Also, you could use reusable parchment paper, so you don't have to clean your baking tray all the time
My boyfriend and I started making the chickpea pasta after you posted it on your insta story! We add the water when we add the sauce/chickpeas, and cook it until it boils and THEN add the pasta. It doesn’t get too thick, but it strengthens the flavor of the sauce so much! Thank you for making videos like this, it’s so helpful to find new dinner ideas!!
I'm not much of a chef but I love learning new recipes, especially when they're vegan/vegetarian. I'm not vegan, but every time there's a vegan option I'm here for it! Also Sarah makes so much easier bc of the way she explains! Love you Sarah 🧡
I love Mrs dash salt free on basic food. I make shrimp stir fry and just add that. We saw a chef on tv make grilled cabbage ''steaks'' and we've been cooking them often. They're so filling and taste great with just steak seasoning and butter or oil to cook it in and some water. You slice a head into 4 wedges and butter the pan add the steak seasoning, grill both sides of each wedge til almost black then flip on its back and throw some water in til the cabbage is soft as you like.
thank god I’ve found this video!! I’ve just subscribed to your channel and I’ve been vegetarian for nearly 4 years now and I literally can’t find anything. saved my life!!
here's an alternative way to make beans that can be stored for a month: pressure cook then with nothing but water until done, then store then in the freezer (you can divide it in daily sized portions), when you feel like eating it, put the frozen beans in a pot with some water, oil, salt, garlic and pepper and wait until its all warm and nice. You can eat it like this or blend and rereat it with meat or meat substitutes, then top it with green onion, and serve it with a side of toast and cheese. It's one of my favorite recepies and its very filling.
*Tip before dipping the chile relleno in the egg..coat the chile in some flour it'll help the egg stick to it evenly.. also add more water to those beans girl & you can add half an onion & some crushed garlic to the broth along with your salt & bay leaves. The bean broth is amazing💣
Whenever I’m roasting veggies in the oven, I usually just put it on a piece of parchment. It keeps my pans from getting that burnt colour and it saves me a LOT of work when cleanup comes! Everything looks yummy and I’m inspired :D
I always find myself coming back to this video Idk why. But I Wanted to say thank you for the Adobo pasta recipe, My family and I were obsessed. We aren't Vegetarian but it was still soooo freaking good!!!
I think I've fallen in love with this channel. Nice. I will need to try some of these recipes. I do like the care you take with your meals. The fact that you make your own chili rellenos is very impressive.
loved all of these! def gonna make the chipotle pasta later this week & roasted veggies tonight! the stock paste is cheap and great yet an even cheaper option is using all those good veggie scraps you have to make your own stock - fill a bag in the freezer. once filled, put in big pot. just cover with veggies with water. season as you like. bring to boil, and then simmer 45 minutes. strain and can keep in fridge for like a week or freeze it! i love anything to save some money!
for your chickpea pasta i have a tip, if you don't want your pasta to be too soft: prepare the broth with the chickpea as you did but cook the pasta seperately 1-2 minutes less than the suggested cooking time. add some of the pasta water to the broth, that will thicken it because of the starch in the pasta. then you add the pasta to the broth and just let it simmer for one minute. that way the pasta will stay "al dente" and it's not that much work because you just need another little pot for the pasta. You can also add some beans, in italy there is a pasta dish called "pasta fagioli", translated to pasta with beans, and it's delicious! one of my favourite recipes, especially because it's so easy!
hi Sarah, try using the green scouring pads (scotch bright makes some) with regular dish soap on the baking sheets. The patina would clear off with a little bit of elbow grease, and without any harsh chemical cleaners. Hope it helps!
By the way, love the children of bodom shirt! (I'm also from Finland, as they are) 😍 I'm vegan and really like the fact that you eat vegetarian meals, always looking for new ideas, I'm kind of lazy tho 😁
I was going to say the same thing! We make them on a weekly basis. I just had a few tips so hopefully she sees it under this comment! After searing them put them in a bag to sweat out for half an hour to an hour. It softens the Chile keeps the Smokey flavor and the skin literally falls off, no water needed! and before you coat them in the egg mixture coat them In a light layer of flower so the egg completely sticks you won’t have any patches ☺️
I made my own veggie stock this year, so much better than cubes or concentrate. Using veggie scraps I’d be composting anyway. 10/10 recommend doing if you can
I love BA and I was immediately like “omg I bet she’s making the chickpea pasta”! If you haven’t made it before and you like garlic, pasta aglio e olio is a satisfying veg meal and really cheap. Their sheet pan pizza is also delicious and easy, and works with vegan cheese alternatives ❤️
Omg I love your cats meowing in the background, they remind me so much of mine, he cannot see me go into the kitchen, because he will be right next to me screaming for food
Pink Himalayan salt is actually good for you and had no side effects / cons. You should try it out! ♡ also try olive oil instead of canola oil! Much better for you. I love your cooking videos! Definitely going to try all of them.
I made the brothy pasta with chickpeas right away and it was absolutely delicious when following the recipe almost to a T, but then I added some of the Trader Joe's chili onion crunch and oh my god. So, so good and such a perfect pantry meal.
Cleaning sheet pan tip!!! Baking soda, vinegar, and steel wool! Soak about ten minutes in the soda and vinegar then a little elbow grease with the steel wool, and your an will look like new!!
If you ever wanna thicken up a pasta or soup I always use nutritional yeast 🤙🏼 tastes really good and works w p much any savory dish, unless it’s supposed to be like an actual brothy soup like miso or onion soup. But I use it in cream of broccoli, reg veg soups, and like literally every pasta i make lol.
So relaxing and yummy! U def made me crave every single thing in this video lol. And the mexican isnt the most authentic but i always put my own spin on my moms recipes to make them more my taste. Love these types of videos from you sarah! Hope you have a great week lady
I loved these pasta recipes! I will definitely try them out :) Thank you for this content, I must say I love your cooking videos, they're so relaxing to watch and just cozy to me. Don't stop
oh my gosh the mexican dinner y’all made looks divine!!!!! definitely feeling inspired to actually make a meal now instead of just eating vegetarian chicken nugs
thank you ! for some reason I always find it so hard to think of easy go-to vegan meals that aren't pasta haha, I rely on it way too much (especially when I don't feel like cooking) ! not saying pasta is unhealthy or anything but you know, just maybe not 3 times a week every week xD also really love the realistic/vlog style, such a breath of fresh air !
You should get a garlic crusher! They have them on amazon and they’re pretty cheap. I got a stainless steel one for like $8. It’s the best thing ever and makes it so much easier to use garlic lol.
Due to COVID I am currently sort of a vegetarian. I had covid back in June and lost my sense of smell it took me a while to get my sense of smell back, but now that it is meat taste terrible to me. I have been living on eating bean burritos and mac and cheese. or forcing myself to eat meat and deal with the rotten taste. It has been a bit of a struggle for me your recipes may help me I am coming to terms with this life style change even though I kinda don't want too. thanks for sharing your recipes.
I’m at work but can’t wait to watch this later!!! Definitely plan to try one of these out asap. I couldn’t get over your sandwich you made with the pickled carrots in that vlog 😛😛
I've literally never seen anyone else put mayo on before toasting. My partner thinks I'm weird as hell for doing it but it hits different than cold mayo.
I hope this is ok to ask. I know in the past you struggled with disordered eating. How were you able to move past it? These meals all look amazing, balanced, and satisfying!! I just love seeing someone on here having a healthy relationship with food. ❤️
I don’t really have good advice but I recognized my behavior wasn’t healthy (obsessively counting calories) so I deleted the app I used and just started eating what and when I felt like! but getting into cooking helps so much because I get to make super tasty foods that nourish my body :)
I love this video! I've been getting more into cooking during quarantine and this made me feel even more inspired. Also I super relate to the kitty screaming for scraps while you cook! 😂 I won't lie, my lady is quite old so I spoil her with (safe!) scraps sometimes...
Sarah please... never apologize for Pepe's serenading he's perfect
Not only did you just help me find new vegetarian recipes I want to try, but THANK YOU for the content you’ve been putting out recently, its been making me feel less alone/insane in quarantine, and its inspired me to try a few different hobbies like puzzles and coloring again.
aw I love this I’m so glad! 🖤
I'll second this!
Does Ryan eat vegetarian as well? I really loved how realistic this was. I can’t stand the aesthetically pleasing cooking videos. No one cooks like that!!
no he’s not vegetarian but he eats mostly veggie because of me! sometimes he’ll cook his own meat to have with our meals :)
When I first went vegan I found a lot of recipes really intimidating because they had so many ingredients that were unusual to me and not available in your average supermarket/grocery store, so it's really nice to see recipes like this that are simple and accessible and easily adjustable to vegan from veggie.

I’ve been trying so hard to be healthy during quarantine but honestly junk food is one of the only things that brings me comfort right now 😭
I FEEL you. I eat junk most of the days. microwave quesadillas are my weakness.
All looks so good! Quick suggestion: for the chiles rellenos, try and coat them in some flour before putting them in the egg mixture. Helps the egg stick to the chile better 😊😊
Teresita Nieto I came here to comment the same thing♥️
Yesss, that's the method my mom uses
Tip on the beans when you’re boiling them add half of an onion and add more water my mom does between 3-5 inches of water above the beans, so the beans can stay whole instead of coming out squished (unless of course you like the beans like that)
The amount of people I’ve told that havarti is my favorite cheese and they have no idea what havarti is is shameful lol, so I’m glad to see someone else that even knows what it is! let alone it’s their favorite! 🧀

We need more cooking videos with Ryan!
thank god I’ve found this video!! I’ve just subscribed to your channel and I’ve been vegetarian for nearly 4 years now and I literally can’t find anything. saved my life!!
I have to say: i lovee this video! If you would do these “Weekly meals” videos more often it would be sooo cool. I really really loved it!
I'm vegan so this really helps!

The video I've been waiting for! I'm vegetarian and so sick of all my go-tos. Thank youuuu - love your cooking content.
I always find myself coming back to this video Idk why. But I Wanted to say thank you for the Adobo pasta recipe, My family and I were obsessed. We aren't Vegetarian but it was still soooo freaking good!!!

Sarah! for the baking trays baking soda and vinager makes miracles! just let it soak and then go with a little sponge and you will see the changes!
for your chickpea pasta i have a tip, if you don't want your pasta to be too soft: prepare the broth with the chickpea as you did but cook the pasta seperately 1-2 minutes less than the suggested cooking time. add some of the pasta water to the broth, that will thicken it because of the starch in the pasta. then you add the pasta to the broth and just let it simmer for one minute. that way the pasta will stay "al dente" and it's not that much work because you just need another little pot for the pasta. Highly recommend steaming your tempeh before marinating and cooking it! It gets any bitterness out and really elevates it 😍
I LOVE your cooking videos! Thank you xx
The beans & rice with the chili’s looks so good! Not too difficult either!
Having Ryan in the video was really nice he seems like such a natural talking to the camera (:
Honestly that was pretty close to authentic! I don’t see many people use the batter for their Chile rellenos so this was great to see!
Hey sarah a tip for next time for your beans is to let them cook with the onion and garlic like they did the bay leaves and salt (:
I made the brothy chickpea pasta. It was delicious. But the leftovers once it had thickened...? *chefs kiss*.
My mom is vegetarian and we sometimes have trouble coming up with what to make for dinner so these are some really good ideas!
I’m glad I hope you enjoy!
I actually enjoy your cooking videos Sarah and it's cool that Ryan sometimes participates in your videos.
YES thank you! I move out in a month and i've been NEEDING some new veg recipes to learn! I can't survive off of just rice and beans 😭😂
I'm mexican and I'm definitely not good at cooking chiles rellenos lol so don't worry, Sarah! Yours looked totally fine!
ahhh thank you! haha
I was gonna comment the same. Also good for you cuz they're a lot of work!
I was going to say the same thing! We make them on a weekly basis. I just had a few tips so hopefully she sees it under this comment!

@@zulyterrazas6791 my mom uses the plastic bag method too!
I made my own veggie stock this year, so much better than cubes or concentrate. Using veggie scraps I’d be composting anyway. 10/10 recommend doing if you can

Those chiles rellenos look so good!! That was one of my moms favorite food.
Everything here looks so yummy. I am a terrible cook but all of this looks so manageable I can’t wait to try them !!
I loved the veggie bowl. I'll probably do that with chicken sometime. So tasty looking! Thanks for the ideas
Pink Himalayan salt is actually good for you and had no side effects / cons. You should try it out! ♡ also try olive oil instead of canola oil! Much better for you. I love your cooking videos! Definitely going to try all of them.

Cleaning sheet pan tip!!! Baking soda, vinegar, and steel wool! Soak about ten minutes in the soda and vinegar then a little elbow grease with the steel wool, and your an will look like new!!
Also bonus tip, get some silicone mat. They can be used up to 500 degrees farenheit, so they are perfect for roasting veggies, without the cleanup!
A vegetarian QUEEN! Thank you for this!
If you ever wanna thicken up a pasta or soup I always use nutritional yeast 🤙🏼 tastes really good and works w p much any savory dish, unless it’s supposed to be like an actual brothy soup like miso or onion soup. omg the adobo noodle recipe looks BOMB! also if you use parchment paper or foil on baking sheets that definitely helps keep them clean!
Thank you for this! I’ve been vegetarian for 4 years and I get in a rut with the stuff I make. Needed this!
so many recipes I want to try. your veggie bowl and rice looked really good!

omg I make that chipotle pepper pasta vegan style with almond or cashew cream and it’s amazing!

Easy off oven cleaner on the pans, let it sit for a day and then scrub off with steel wool works like a charm🖤
You should get a garlic crusher! They have them on amazon and they’re pretty cheap. I got a stainless steel one for like $8. It’s the best thing ever and makes it so much easier to use garlic lol.
Loved this! I have run out of ideas . Everything was so simple but looked so delicious

Love this! Wonderful ideas for vegetarian meals, I still eat meat but I have been eating less and less for the past year.
Oven cleaner, I use it to clean my pots too. Just keep it on there for like an hour and it gets everything off for me
I’m glad I’m not the only one to put mayo on first before toasting bread. It just makes it better haha
THANK YOU I wasn’t sure if I should hide that I do that or not because I didn’t know if it was weird 🤣
That Chile relleno meal looked sooo good!!!
Pleeeeease do more of these! Amazing.
Easy Mexican pinto beans: pinto beans, water and salt in a pressure cooker! They cook so fast and taste amazing!
If you use parchment paper, your baking sheets are going to be mostly clean after you use them.

I hope this is ok to ask. I know in the past you struggled with disordered eating. How were you able to move past it? These meals all look amazing, balanced, and satisfying!! I just love seeing someone on here having a healthy relationship with food. ❤️
