I’m glad you included Red Alert’s Paranoia in your Siege rewrite. I was absolutely baffled that they completely ignored that part of his character.
Yeah they ignored so much of every one of the characters, I wanted to try and put as much as I could back in. Like the Fact that Mirage was just generic jerkass, was weird too.
At the end of the Scavengers episode two of the reflectors should die and have it be treated really seriously, with everyone mourning the loss of the other two reflectors only for the remaining one to find out he can duplicate himself at will, creating like 10 of him annoying Spinister and Skytread even more.
That's actually an idea I've had for a while, but up to that point they would be more individual. They would all just be friends, and when the other two died, the mentally fragile one would be the one who was left, and he couldn't take it, so he started making duplicates to pretend to him self he wasn't alone any more.

Thank you, but, that wouldn't turn out well. I've never animated that way before, and I have no set up for it, and no way to have a set up. I lack the space to make something to fit a stop motion set.
Also Stop Motion takes TONS of time, and I'm always busy.

Well, if you wanted to make Impactor join the autobots, here is how I would do it
He is left barley alive after mirage is done, and mirage has to make a choice, take the energon back now and risk Hound’s life, or take Hound to ratchet and risk the decepticons sending backup to guard it, Mirage chooses Hound and so Impactor radios Soundwave (as head of communications) about the situation after seeing this, so the decepticons bomb the place knowing he is still there, Impactor barley survives and joins them because they care about each other more
Well personally I don't want him to join the autobots I want him to die, and a character Arch for him kind of goes against my thesis for this video which is jettison as much of the Extraneous material as possible.
That would be a good way to do it though. I feel like that calls for Trail Breaker as well though.

Decepticon Mirage was my second, favorite figure from this line (Spinny's first). I was so disappointed he didn't actually switch sides within the show, that it was just a holographic disguise. We're always getting heroic Con turncoats (Catilla, Dinobot, Knock Out, Drift) so much that it's been done to death, and thus, it would've been interesting to have a character who does the opposite. Closest we've come are the TFA Constructicons (only partially counts, since, while the were buddy buddy with Bulkhead they weren't, officially Autobots) and ex-Wrecker leader Valve (one MTMTE flashback panel). NOTE: I would've included Grimlock, but, everytime he's gone purple badge was incredibly brief, so, it didn't seem to fit the above, who all permanently joined the Deceps.
I would have figured he'd have started out as a Deception and switched to Autobot.
And yeah, it was Lazy, but I can't think of too many good ideas the show actually had.

One of the major ones before they started making the conflict more morally grey was Armada Wheeljack, (who was clearly supposed to be Red Alert or Sideswipe) who defected to the decepticons after being accidentally left for dead on a mission

Someone should make a stopmotion of this! It’s so good! Also loved the goldbug joke considering it was a funny reference, I loved the format and it’s way better than siege. Personally siege was really boring to me.
Siege was so dull it made me start a UA-cam Channel.
Perhaps instead of having galaxy upgrade Optimus as a separate character, he could be like the wingblade armor that animated Prime had, just built by Magnus and Wheeljack.
It could play out like;
Magnus explains to Prime, that since the Deceptions are surly going to find the ark soon they might as well improve their current weapon systems. Given their current lack of enough able bodied troops, the Decepticons have more than enough firepower to overpower them in a full on battle.
As he explains this they are headed towards wheeljack’s workshop. (Wheeljack is busy checking to make sure the engines work perfectly.)
He then explains that him and Wheeljack designed the current armor system. As well as it’s advantages and disadvantages. Such as the obviously increased firepower and flight capabilities. While also stressing that the current prototype has the drawbacks of guzzling energon, the more restrictive movement and added weight, and faulty targeting systems.
Optimus would respond that while he understands the gesture he doesn’t believe that it is currently necessary and obviously given the current scarcity of energon.
Burning through it by using weapon upgrades such as it would only mean they would have to collect even more energon for longer than necessary. But ending with how the idea is good it just needs refinement.
That way you can advertise the (very bad) toy and keep the suit for later if necessary. I am sure there is a better way to write this, and perhaps the idea may get some Cybertron fans upset that their prime was relegated to nothing more than a power up;
But (A) the toy it is advertising is far worse at representing the character, what with how flimsy his vehicle mode trailer is, his G1 Optimus head in normal robot mode, and how he even looks terrible in his super mode due to the hollowness, everywhere, and all the unpainted details.
And (B), I do not see any continuity where two Optimus Primes are fighting one Megaton and don’t immediately flatten him.
I mean that's the way I assumed it already was.
Your whole story would be a good way to incorporate it though.

Over all, I have to say, this was a solid work..... But also I have view more sujestions .
the idea with Red and Sideswipe wasn t bad, but I would probadly put Hounde or some eals .( as for reasoning why, I have to say if anything I kind of licked the idea of Red been a Medic , or at least the only guy who can help ,but probadly thats just me and my memoris with Armada/Cybertron version of Red, so in short my preference)
The episode with grunts and you short was fun, but as much as I like SCAVENGERS, at least in case of promoting things SIEGE related, it would been better ( in my opinion) to use other unsed decepticons in the line, like RAINMAKERS, Barricade,Scrapface,Apeface, you get the idea....
And if anthing at least one good/interesting idea from a Netflix show was Mercenarys faction ( the idea was good, besides the name like SYRIESLY HAZBRO?, You coudn t use something eals , that was the best you could do?) and an idea of Soundblaster ( with strong emphasis on " idea" considoring it was hard to take " a clone going wrong" when the whole backrounde are nothing more them cheap clone recolors , or to put it simple " Transformers SIEGE The clone wars" but sh#tier )
So those are my thought, but over all the video was very fun to watch, and since you did a good job with rewriting view ideas with this, how about making something similar with live action movie hmmm?
Well my advice for the movies would be throw out everything start over.
Anyways the reason I teamed up Red Alert with Sidewsipe was because Sideswipe is a gun ho action oriented guy, who likes to fight and takes it seriously. So he'd be chafe at being teamed up with a timid, bundle of nerves.
Characters like the Rainmakers would be used in my serries during all the deception episodes they'd be around in the background, but I didn't really think they had the personality to drive an episode. Of course if I could successfully argue for more than 6 episodes I'd be glad to give them bigger roles, but with just 6 I was limited.
I think Mercenary's doesn't quite make sense as a FACTION but as a group, yeah. Like they can have a faction badge and everything so they are distinguished on the battlefield and people know they can hire them for jobs, but it doesn't make sense for them to all be working together.

Talking about Goldbug, it kinda sucks that Goldbug seems to be so hated in the TF community, all because it doesn't look like Bumblebee, even that the original intention was Goldbug to be grown up and matured Bumblebee. I would like to see Goldbug used in some future TF series some day without Goldbug being a separate character from Bumblebee, tho Bee's name is cuter and it's Bee. And off track note, I think they missed a good opportunity to use the name Goldbug back in Armada when Powerlinx Oppy was released with Corona Sparkblug. They should have used the name Goldbug instead if you ask from me.
And I do love what you did with Starscream and Jetfire. I would wait an eternity to get more SS and Jetfire interactions, that does not involve sticking rods into one's exhaust pipes, if you know what I mean.

And I think the reason for all the dislike might be threefold, One it's a bad name, it just doesn't sound great. It's got no pop, no sizzle. Two the way he got the name is stupid. Bumblebee:"Hey look I'm a Gold Bug." Optimus "THAT'S YOUR NAME NOW, NO TAKE BACKSES!". Lastly I think people were just angry at such a radical redesign of a well liked character.

This scene is peak comedy! This scene is hilarious!! Also like how they point out Reflector’s only remembered for his / their cloning ability. (The monotone voice you gave him makes him really funny playing off the others!)

I've heard that, it's an extraordinary slow down for a reason like that. Still Does that mean that they've been working on the Animation for season 2 the whole time, if so why does it look so rough in the trailers.
@@PerspectiveEnd good question, I think that it took so long because they wanted to dub all the languages before it was released, and I think COVID did play a role, no clue why the ER animation is so choppy though, maybe they tried to speed it up to not repeat the mistake?

If I was the showrunner I’d make sure there would be 24 episodes. Also I’d make the voice actors try harder. In the first episode it would be Optimus talking about the war and stuff But the change is it’s more like a movie prequel. Optimus shot the allspark up into space. And the main plot is a race to space.
It would start out with hot shot and bumblebee and hot shot scouting for an energon stash bumblebee found, hot shot is really overconfident, and bumblebee is a pessimist who is struggling for energon. He is unhappy to give it up to the autobots. However a team of seekers are scouting the area, Jetfire, Starscream, Purple man number 1, Pink boi number 1, the first 5-10 minutes is them hiding, however unfortunately the seekers catch them and show off these characters personalities, Starscream and Jetfire act like an old married couple, Purple man and Pink boi act like generic seekers who joke and push eachother around. The bots try to run with 2 large energon cubes in there hand but get caught and sent off to a prison camp.
The second episode is Optimus and Elita trying to free the two, while hotshot and. bumblebee use teamwork to escape. The camp is ran by Shockwave. The third episode is them discussing what happened, the decepticon’s have prisoners which are other decepticon’s while Shockwave and Soundwave are just chillin, nothing to climatic maybe 1 fight, it just tries to flesh out the characters.
The next 6 episode’s are just both sides try to get energon and fights, and in the 5th episode you get to meet Megatron, who was off watching another prison camp. And, you get to learn Starscream and Megatron really don’t like eachother. However meanwhile with the autobot’s Elita questions Optimus, and Magnus is getting kind of fed up, so he leaves the autobots.
anyways the next 12 episodes are, is just Optimus, taking more extreme measures to get energon, first asking ratchet for help, then a disastrous battle which results in the Death of Hotshot, who is literally Optimuses best friend, and then him trying to get help from the Omega Sentinels, but they are like no. Meanwhile the decepticon’s capture Magnus. Magnus seems to want to make an alliance with Megatron, but Megatron just wants the location of the Ark, but anyway’s Magnus befriends Jetfire, who after befriending Magnus, begins to become a better bot, and begins to show some remorse towards the autobots. But the decepticon’s are also taking extreme measures as well, like in episode 16, Megatron reveals how he is going to get his energon, his prisoners, not just bots, also the cons. And in episode 18, Magnus gets killed, which ultimately changes Jetfire’s spark and goes in search for the bots, he meets up with the wreckers who are led by springer, they beat Jetfire up first but then realizes he wants to change. So over time Jetfire gets some wrecker friends. Also did I forget to mention Bumblebee is just chillin? And grows closer to prime after the death of hotshot?
The final 3 are Starscream getting promoted to Air commander, causing chaos, Impactor and Mirage guarding a space bridge which I forgot to mention lol, and the almost last episode is bumblebee showing his fellow bots where a HUGE supply of energon is, the mercenaries shop base, ran by Soundblaster. And that space bridge team gets help from those wreckers and the final episode is kinda the same, but with wreckers and no allspark, also tons of micro masters die, and weaponizers. That is my rewrite of siege, also the characters will look more like actual robots instead of toys.
Please break stuff like this up into paragraphs. This is very hard to read.
Apparently Netflix was completely unwilling to fund more than 6 Episodes.
So the Alspark would already be in space by the start of the serries?
A lot of what you are describing sounds expensive to make, I mean it all sound interesting but what I was trying to do was work within the limitations the show had.
Why does Jetfire have Wrecker Friends.
Yeah I do think they should have made the show models look a little less like the toys.
That was all interesting, well done, I just think because they wanted to be cheap they wouldn't try something that actually ambitious.
@@PerspectiveEnd My explanation for some of the things, is that while Optimus is speaking in the beggining of the first episode he states he sent the allspark up into space, and now the decepticon's and the autobots are now in a race to space to find it.
The reason Jetfire has wrecker friends in because, after he left the decepticon's, he seeked out for autobot's and met up with the wreckers who he slowly became friends with, and then later they catch up to the other bots.
Also I forgot to mention, the main antagonist of each episode can be different, one can be, Shockwave, Megatron, Starscream, and the occasional Jetfire, in the earlier episodes.
And yeah Netflix probably was working on something that had ACTUAL effort put in to it.
First things first...Produce a TOTALL KICK ASS INTRO SONG! I knew Seige was gonna be shit when there was no catchy intro!

The ratchet covered in rust joke was one I only caught this time round, and the genius of how open ended your plot is means that it ties in better with earthrise and Kingdom more than the original show does

Hype-hype-hype just gets tiresome after a while,. especially when I'm watching reviews to see which figures are worth extending my limited budget and even smaller shelf space to.

You've inspired me good sir to make a Siege rewrite of my own, but with the War for Cybertron game in mind cuz I love that game and is my personal favorite interpretation of the Cybertron war. (My headcanon is Megatron Origin -> Cybertron Games -> Rest of IDW G1 -> Beast Wars -> Whatever rewrite I can think of for Beast Machines. If IDW has things that contradicts BW though then..crap. I already know characters like Rattrap and Waspinator are there so that already complicates stuff) The idea is the campaigns are switched, "Siege" having an Autobot focused story happening during the Decepticon campaign and vice versa.
Oh yeah, there is NO wrangling IDW into line with G1 in any sense. The Beastformers are not from the future, most of them are from Eurcharis, Rattrap is from a different world where the only thing he had to scan was a rat, and yeah there are not Enough Rewrites in the universe to set them in the same world.

@@PerspectiveEnd Dang. Also I'm starting it as a fanfic and maybe do a comic, if I ever plan on posting it at all. A couple of my friends are great artists so if I wanted to make it as a "comic dub" or somethin maybe I'd ask em about it. So far I got it being six chapters cuz that sweet episode limit, and each 3 are a reverse of the WFC campaign. That starts the first half with the Decepticons, this first half is the Autobots with Wheeljack and Bee as usual. It goes a bit into Jetfire and Starscreams past, and ends with Bee goin to alert Optimus about Zeta. The other halfs a bit trickier because all the Cons are a bit preoccupied so I'm thinkin maybe it can be Shockwave testing around with weaponizer tech for his upgrade armor and then mutating three normal bots into Skrapnel Bombshell and Kickback cuz of the whole Insecticon thing in the second game.
Your ideas are far better than Netflix, alright. Personally, the Scavengers idea is genius. But why keep it there? Have Springer show up with Mirage instead of Hound, and make it a Wreckers origin to have Impactor join the Autobots.
Well I wanted to have the two Illusion power guys to be in one episode together.
But Springer being the Antagonist of the Scavengers Episode would be great.

Ok I need to bring this up, I like this video because I thought it was clever and kinda funny, but I showed this to a friend who’s kinda into Transformers and he kinda hated this. Now let me be clear he hates the Netflix show to but this pissed him off for a couple of reasons.
1. How you treated Impactor. My friend is a wrecker fan so I think you can understand why that made him mad.
2. This is kinda a recurring thing you do P that I agree you need to stop doing. You need to stop saying that no one cares about different things like the AllSpark, the 13 Primes, and a few other things. Now I agree they’re done to death concepts but they are still staple parts of the franchise now so they won’t leave. And also, I’m pretty sure that most if not all of your audience are people born in the 2000s and grew up with this stuff so we prefer this over G1 stuff.
I know there are other reasons other than this but I wanna stop here. Again I just thought I needed to bring this stuff up because if one person feels like this than I’m pretty sure others feel like this also. I liked it and want to see more things like this, but I just thought that you should know P.

I will say I have since calmed down on the making definitive statements about the communities reactions to things for the most part, however I said stuff like "No one likes this or that" because in as far as I could tell it was the general consensus. Like Even Thew doesn't care for the 13 and he's the nicest Transformers fan.
And I feel comfortable about the Allspark because it serves a completely superfluous job. Depending on the continuity it steals abilities from other Cybertronian artifacts that existed before it.
How ever your friend being broken up that I made a joke about Impactor doesn't weigh on me much, it's not like he was the butt of the whole episode, he is supposed to be a threatening and intimidating presence in the story I came up with.
I cracked a joke at Impactors expense at the end. I don't think that was stepping over a line.
Also fun Fact, due to my analytics only about 30% or less of my audience was born after 2000. I even have subscribers up into their 60s.

You actually sound like WFC Optimus. Why didn't they hire you? Since you'd be in the cast, you'd probably have influence to change some things about the show, like in this video.
I mean I assume they had all the voice actors literally phone in their lines so I don't know that I'd have really been able to get off any influence, but I'd have tried. I think my other impressions are better.

@@PerspectiveEnd to me personally, it gives your channel some kind of charm. In this, you talked pretty slow, and this video could have easily have shaved off five minutes if you either talked faster or just sped up the audio.
Oh I could probably have shaved 10 minutes off this but I didn't know what I was doing yet, there are too many long pauses and too many slow takes.

I had a plan on that a long time ago but man I just can't get around to it.
I feel like idea-wise this isn’t that bad (although I don’t remember any G1 episode having a Text crawl and generally those are not good. Star Wars was an exception. Most of the time it’s just a bad way to get out your exposition in a way that just tells and doesn’t show anything.)
The issue that I’d say is we’d need more of some actual “character arcs” for a Character driven story. I feel like it would have been better to see more of the war though. In fact I can imagine the entire thing of the Ark being seen more like a crazy pipe dream of some of the Scientific/Pacifist characters with others just flat out being against it. Perhaps have the first 3-4 episodes being some other plan with the start of the series having Omega Supreme refusing to help Optimus and warning that Cybertron cannot keep up Energon production at the rate needed to manage this war and may end up becoming desolate for generations for Primus to heal. Optimus attempts a plan that ends in a fight with Megatron and the Decepticons where Megatron manages to win the fight and one of the last Energon refineries on the planet is destroyed. With now even less useful Energon on the planet, Optimus reluctantly must declare the mission to abandon Cybertron as any further war on the planet could harm the planet further. But Megatron insensed that Optimus would abandon the Planet especially after Optimus was “to blame” for destroying the last Energon refinery - he tries to turn the rest of the Planet against the Autobots. The finale has Omega Supreme come online and stop the Decepticons as the Autobots manage to blast off and get away from Cybertron but with Megatron revealing that they can track the Ark… and stop them before they can “spread their evil” to another planet.
I very much get what they wanted Megatron’s character arc to be but you just can’t manage that in 6 episodes. You would need 13 at least with Megatron as the main character. Really if this was like 26-39 episodes you could do a full arc where Megatron falls from his noble ideals to becoming so obsessed with “winning the war” that he compromises his ideals and ends up fighting Optimus, but that was just too ambitious for only 6 episodes
Oh absolutely normally you don't want that, but Considering there are only 6 episodes and a lot of Backstory so it was needed here.
I think you could have achieved any one to two things in six episodes, that's longer than most movies after all, but they had to limit their scope somewhere.
@@PerspectiveEnd yea for sure. Netflix bit off way too much for 6 episodes. And I really don’t think that the fans would mind having to watch a longer series… but screw it we will only do 6 episodes! Seriously though, if they focused on the idea as more of a movie and not more of episodes of a show it would probably of made the series a bit better…
Also side note - I do like just scrapping Red Alert’s character for the Armada Red Alert for the most part. Then again that might be more of just me really REALLY hating G1 Red Alert after coming from Armada and really liking the character. I feel like if he’s gonna be paranoid it should be toned down or just scrap that idea…

I could have come up with this before watching the show. This wasn't made because of hindsight this was made because doing a good story is easy, and don't one like they did requires a distinct lack of talent.

It's easy to say, "oh I would've done a better job" after the fact and criticize someone's work when you're not under pressure to produce something familiar yet new to appease the long time fans and to entice new ones to the IP. While I don't disagree completely with your take on the first chapter, it'd be interesting to see what you'd produce if you were tasked with the same thing.

Also...remove the slow moving dialogue. It'd also be the 1st time Optimus and Ultra Magnus worked together as LEADERS since Scramble City. It baffles me how with as many toys they had, they NEVER thought to include them as background characters.
Well the show was relentlessly cheap which is why there were so few characters who actually showed up.

Yeah. It makes sense that way, not quite the same in the show though, since Starscream was a grunt who got promoted to the leader of the Seekers which isn't any kind of military position.

It's funny you ask because I actually just started Watching it. I'm most of the way though the first season, and man I have to say the Voice Acting for anyone who's not Bumblebee, Windblade, Grimlock or Starscream is terrible.
The tone is also horribly inconsistent, Like everyone on Velocitron dies and then 2 seconds later we see bumblebee bump his head because wacky.
So far it's OK, but it has issues I'm hoping the hammer out as time goes on.

Also, having seen Lawrence of Arabia, what if Impactor had the personality of Sherif Ali when he first met Lawrence at the well? Just this brutally efficient person who would get quite the pleasure of killing off the enemy.
What if the energon supply that Mirage and Hound discovered is, you know, his personal well? He's a hunter, he would keep as many resources to himself as humanly possible.
It further adds the idea that the Decepticons are morally ambiguous. Ratchet's relationship with Refraktor would further support this idea.
I was so worried when I made this that people were going to call me a Cringy idiot. So happy with what the response has been over the last two years. I need to get on that Sequel already.

2) I'm referring to the acting in Jupiter Ascending wherein everyone except Mila Kunis and Eddie Redmayne delivers their line in deadpan, borderline lifeless manner. This what I call the Phantom Menace acting.
