Pro tip :) All the cloak and dagger in the world does not help when you do not turn off artificial shutter noises made by the camera, even an out of place beep can spook wildlife. Great video

Yes, every time it's mainly about patience. You can do everything right but if you are too quick it will be harder to get the photo right.

Hi Adam, Why are you wearing a bright orange visor?

Hi, it's for the local hunters so that they can recognize me faster. They once mistook me as a poacher.

what size lens do you recommend?

Depends on what you want to shoot, if you are interested in bird photography then longer focal lenght(500-600mm), if you want to take photos of larger animals than 400mm can be enough(some people even use 300mm but then you need to get a lot closer to the subject and that might be tricky). And also depends if you want cheaper option because zoom lenses like 150-600 or 200-500 are cheaper and lighter and can be bought for less then a thousand euro. Larger prime lenses are a lot more expensive but they offer better sharpness and larger aperture opening. I personally use tamron 150-600 G1 which is a really old lense, it has smaller aperture opening and gives less sharp photos but as you can see with enough practice even a cheap lense can deliver decent photos .

@@AdamSadlonPhotography Thank you I'm mostly thinking of filming deer which are usually 100meters+ away. Is 300mm lens enough or do I need a 600?

@@Jecerey 100 meters is quiet a long distance for 300mm, you should try a cheaper zoom lense a then you can continue it's really better to try it yourself. When I take photos I try to have my subject as close as 20meters or less and even then I set my focal lenght to around 400mm.

@@Jecerey It's an art of getting close - understanding animals , knowing the environment , light, wind, time of the day, camouflage, silence and patience. It takes practice and years of time. If you see an animal 100m away and you are wondering what focal length you need - it's a wrong thought process. Wonder instead about how to get much closer than that. In general however, 500-600mm at the long end is where you want to be at.
