What a little champ. I could not imagine how it feels to be trapped in a body that stopped working. She deserves the most pampered life possible.
Unfortunately I’m one who can imagine. I’ve been chronically ill since birth, but many of my conditions weren’t diagnosed - much less acknowledged - until I was in my mid-20’s (I’m 31 now.) It was bad enough that it took two years ago for me to get my drivers license. It sucks having to deal with judgmental looks from strangers because I don’t “look” disabled.
I once had a woman try to take my cane from me because she said I was “faking it for attention.” No ma’am, I have a connective tissue disorder that cause me to dislocate my joints randomly, and be in widespread pain 24/7. I told her “I can’t walk without the cane but I can hit you with it if you don’t leave me alone.”

@@JanieGal16 i used be close friends with someone who has that. She had to take a lot of meds everyday just to be able to move about but still was in pain.

Raccoon doesn't seem to be depressed or tortured after paralysis and the rehabilitators did not discard her but instead willingly dedicate their life to love and giving her the best of life possible. I wonder what raccoon will say if an animal communicator asks if life is fine for her despite severe paralysis.

When I was only 5 years old, my dad brought 3 orphaned baby raccoons home when we lived on a acreage. I loved them so much (think of cats with hands). They would hiss and purr, and get into all of our cupboards. Eventually, the wildlife parks took them away from us, and we were assured they would live safely in a Federally protected park. I hope that was true. As a result, I"m a lifelong lover of raccoons. I love this fur baby and her parents!
How did the wildlife parks find out about your raccoons? Did a neighbour turn you in?
Did they just turn up at your door with 3 cages?
I saw something today in Italy, something so savage and brutal. Hordes of police turned up at sanctuary for pigs. I won't go into details. Probably someone found out that some pigs were being saved from being turned into prosciutto. No doubt a felonious crime here.

Really? You think it’s a wonderful life for an animal to be in that state? Any animal? It’s disgusting and utter selfishness on the humans’ part. They may think they’re being loving but if they truly loved that animal they would set her free and euthanize her. She can’t even be a raccoon when all her instincts are telling her to be one. It’s tortuous.

Saving, rescuing and then deciding to adopt a raccoon (especially a special needs raccoon) is not only heroic but angelic as well. This world needs more of you and yours. Thank you from the bottom of this animal advocate's heart. This calling is def a labor of love, we stay tired, broke and worried or stressed but, honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Its the most rewarding thing I've ever done w my life and I can see that it makes y'all just as happy.

I'm disabled and I can see why other disabled people can relate to her. Abled people sometimes say things like, "I'd rather be dead than be disabled like you." Can you imagine? Right to our faces! What you're doing is showing that a disabled life is still a life very much worth living, especially if we get the accommodations we need to give us freedom and access to the world, which is what you're providing for her.
She’s not a human though. There is a huge difference. She can’t be a raccoon b/c she can’t do raccoon things. You are still a human b/c you still have your thoughts and your soul. She only has instinct which she cannot fulfill. It’s just plain mean to make her live like that.

I had a raccoon when my son was little ... was his best friend was also our pitties best bud as well coony got over 40lbs was vetted regular .... his favorite food was roast carrots an potatoes he lived a very long a healthy life!! Was sad day when he passed
