This is great. I ordered a Japanese saw, and I was delighted that you had a video on it. I learn a lot from your videos.

Leah, thanks for all your DIY videos. My son is a cabinet maker and uses a Japanese saw to cut straight cutss and degree cuts instead of using a miter saw. He taught me to look at the reflection in the blade to determine straightness and angle. I watched him make a picture frame that fit perfectly, simply using the reflection from the blade. Course he spends a lot of time polishing the blade, so he can see a clear reflection of the board. Didn't know if you knew that trick.

I have a few Japanese tools - what is it with those guys...they seem to do it right, don't they? However, I do not have a saw, as yet...bet that's gonna be the next tool I add...thanks again for one more clear and helpful video. You are definitely making this easier for us! m

I got a Japanese saw for Xmas this year, and it is so much nicer to use than our saws. The cut is also so clean as well.Like your video Jane, I have just subscribed. :-) Greetings from the UK

Thanks, I've lived in Japan for over 20 years, those are the only saws readily available, and I could never make a straight cut with one to save my life. Now maybe I can.
