With an older vehicle, when you go travelling/mileage, it tends to pull out any problems, wether mechanical or wiring, that's just one of the drawbacks.
At least once you disembark in Italy, it's not too far to get home.
I swam in the sea near Glyfada, Greece in November, water was still beautifully warm and clear, just like those beaches you visited.

I had the same problem with my minivan. Could be a dodgy relay switch, I replaced mine and it was fine. Very annoying at the time, though, so completely understand your frustration! Hope you get it fixed.

Awww Sithonia, beautiful nature, nice beaches, crystal clear sea..... I spent there (Metamorphosis, Toroni, Vourvouru, Sarti....) many holidays, but sadly, too many strays and municipalities do nothing to solve the prob!

Oh Marina I have a similar light issue with my van but mine actually even drains the main battery if we don't remove fuse while parked for long time. I hope your mechanic in Italy will be able to figure it out. I had one mechanic - like an electrician for cars - tell me that finding the weak spot is like searching for a needle in the hey stack... every "end" connector he tested showed enough current so it might be somewhere a lose link at a connecting point in the walls etc. I'm sending my van to " a doctor" that a friend of mine suggested and hoping he will be able to find the problem and that it will cost less than my poor old van. It's still all original wiring from 98. Please do share once your mechanic finds a solution. Thanks, paw shake from Cape Breton, Canada.

Hi, time flies indeed. Bit scary driving in the dark to a save place and ending up in a beautiful spot. Seems people are still in the winter mood, hope the van gets back all right. Buy a lot of pita's, very very many dogs everywhere in Greece :-). Enjoy the journey, see you next time.
Fuse is a dead short soo check for loose connection and any wires rubbing

That must have been so scary! Good that you managed to make it to an overnight stop. What a lovely dog, presumably he had a home somewhere, he looked healthy. Hope you got the electrics sorted and it didn’t cost an arm and leg!

Same happened to me. Two weeks ago kitty and I drove home after a visit to the vet and on a country road both lights went off at the same time. It was very confusing. With me it was both bulbs dying at the same time.

You have a great camper van, but not one that can easily go from regular roads to bumpy rural,full of pot holes dirt roads…so YES you will have wiring issues because they do not like to dance around your engine and will either unplug themselves or burnout, so keep on getting small issues dealt with and save the bigger ones for when you come home. Don’t get rid of it,it’s a great little van.
Yes and no, it's supposed to go on bumpy roads that's what it's used for mainly butt you're right, he foutent like it. At all. 🤣

Teething problems eh? Driveshaft & coolant, lights could be a switch. Relay , bad connection, dampness, luckily that van should have a simple enough electric system to diagnose, maybe you just have a thing about mechanics lol 😜, nice video 👍
i wonder how you do it to not feel scared . . the problems with the van in the countryside at night, the dogs with no owner, the walks alone . . i would love to know how you get to be so peaceful. . i would be so afraid all the time !!!
I'm definitely not always calm, quite the opposite! I don't often feel scared but I'm always very alert, perhaps sometimes too much. I think the more you do the stuff you're afraid of the more you get confident.

All alone with "Iffy" electrics ..... we know all too well about problems like that, out in remote areas at the wrong time of the day and week. You'll just have to learn some basinc 12v electrics with a test meter and a good LED torch which isalways well charged + JumpLeads for getting started if all fails - guess you were lucky that it was only the lights. I do have a jumpstarter for the battery but forgot my multimeter home 😅. Unfortunately it's not an issue I feel confident figuring out myself! Things seems to be ok now, let's see how long it lasts. Luckily Greece is a low risk rabies country with no cases being detected in animal since 2014.

are you in a country that just lets dogs run around as strays? Over here we take them in and try to find the owner or give to either shelter or local council dog warden. I felt so sad that the dog was just left on his own to defend for himself :-(
Hi! there is a big stray population in Greece. From what I've understood the advice in: if the dog seems fine someone is probably feeding them. If the dog seems hungry, give food. If the dog is injured or you witness animal cruelty contact either animal association or council/police. No point in taking a healthy dog to a kennel where it's going to live behind bars for all its life. Most of the stray dogs live in packs and are free to roam and do what they like, they find ways to get food. I have witnessed many locals giving dogs and cats food. They are better off than some "owned" dogs that live in chains. Yes it's not what we are used to but if we were to find a home to every dog you see in greece you'd honestly only do that all day every day. If you'd like to help you can do so by donating to local associations I left links in the description bar 🤗
Dogs can live very happily without being owned. Nature does not need us. It's human beings usually who create problems. And more when they try to solve them.

Which is not an obligation. If we disappeared things will go on without us. You could study wild children cases for instance. I repeat, taming is a process we have done to ourselves and not just pets. There is no wild spaces anymore. Which is fine, whatever, that's not the point. My point is there is no rule that says that pets or humans cannot die or survive. The taming is not a causation for us to exist. It's not that if the sun were to implode in a decade instead of in billion of years that would be a shame.there is no consciousness looking from outside. For your reasoning the dinosaurs should not have died because there was an ecosystem of animal and plants and fungi and microbes living with them as they were like us now the head of the food pyramid. Do you understand the ridiculousness? Also, as there are dogs that live like that, in a more loose situation than house pet is a fact against your point. If they all died if we died is not my point. You are assuming that human beings are masters, but we are masters of the world we want. There is a logical difference.

They are not tamed as you claim they are bread for their softer, friendlier attributes rather than nature evolving them for atributes that allow them to survive in the wild. most Dogs are NOT wolves or even close.
