@@harvardvillegas4470 It depends how good the Slidel county jail is at keeping drugs out of the low-security blocks. If the blocks are clean as they can get them, then new meat like her isn't likely to have the connections to get her a fix when there are more senior inmates at the front of the queue. The trick is staying off of the stuff after she's done her couple of weeks for petty larceny.
My sister lost everything she had: her gorgeous apartment, 2 cars, her job, and custody of her son because she had a $5,000/day heroin habit. Addiction is certainly no joke.

@@GuessWho-uc5uq I'm sure it wasn't all hers. She lived with her addict boyfriend as well, and had other people coming-and-going throughout the day, probably doing sales. But to be honest, I haven't asked her in detail about it.

Officer, here's a nurse's tip: Don't ever recap needles. Do the 'scoop' technique, where you put the cap on a surface and simply scoop the syringe into it. It's much safer.
I don't think they had any tables lying around in the parking lot. But maybe she should have used the slick uneven carhood to try that unnecessary method.

As someone who recovered from opioid addiction, I hope she gets the help she needs. Withdrawal is the only thing that ever made me contemplate suicide, it’s absolutely horrific. People who’ve never been there can’t even begin to imagine how bad it is. It makes you do things that you never imagined you could be capable of.
Having to kick in a jail cell though is a whole different level of awful.

I never stole, but I know exactly how she’s feeling and what she’s going through and I really feel bad for her I really hope she gets the help she needs. People who have not dealt with addiction will never understand the torture of the mind games it plays with you and the lengths it will take you not to be sick the next day. It’s a horrible horrible disease I would not wish upon my worst enemy.....

Hate to say it but I never would've broke free from heroin and meth addiction without probation, 3 rehabs, almost 1.5 years of jail narrowly avoiding prison. Luckily I never caught extra charges other than my inital theft, dealing & possession case or I'd have definitely gone to prison. It's so hard to get out of the system, even if you're a model citizen. Money trap set up to fail and it's hit or miss depending on where you go as to whether or not the people actually wanna help you or not.

10% of employees come to work TO STEAL
80% walk that line and it's managements job to help them stay on the right side of that line.

At least she is still earning an honest living and employed? There must be a better way of dealing with this petty theft crime. By firing and pressing charges against her would just send her to a downward spiral. I know that she is in the wrong and should be punished for her wrongdoings, but I think rehabilitation or community service would be a better alternative.

I work at a fast food joint. The general manager noticed a lot of refunds and checked tue system and cameras. Turned out a lady was pocketing money for months. She actually bought a new car lol.
I am surprised at how sad I am to watch that one. All the things we are dealing with today and my heart goes out to addicts. She was trying and working a job but after seeing that needle and drugs the crime of stealing the money seems more desperate than stupid. I hate seeing hooked addicts destroy a good opportunity. So many cannot even work

A good boss would talk with their employee, and try and figure out if they were in need, using, or in a tough spot. Maybe this lady will get some help in prison if she goes, but you can't guarantee that.

As someone who has worked in Loss Prevention background checks don't tell you what someone's integrity is like. I have know people who seemed like really great people but have caught them stealing money, merchandise and etc. Just because someone doesn't have a criminal history doesn't mean that they are honest.

I managed Retail for over 40 years, From manger to CEO and my policy was to call the cops at 2:30, that why they'd get there at shift change and we'd have a "PERP WALK" in front of 2 shifts ... This may seem cruel to some, but In my mind I was doing the other employee's a favor reminding them what can happen.

Frosteddoughnuts yes but in a bathroom in use or expected to be in use. In this case they were aware no one was using it because they knew she was cleaning it and they kept the camera from pointing at the stalls just in case. The law is actually that it’s illegal to film people where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy and I believe it’s got some exceptions as well such as police needing to film for evidence so long as the bathroom has been cleared and everyone is decent

I had an employee do something similar. Obviously I had to terminate her, but I didn't call the police. I had her sign a statement that she stole the money. I then kept $50 out her final paycheck, and gave her 30 days to pay the other $50 or I would file charges. 2 weeks later she brought the other $50 and went to rehab. 6 months later she came in to thank me. She was clean and focused on staying that way. That was 2 years ago, she now works for me as a manager. Sometimes it's worth giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Throwing this chick in jail is not going fix her drug problem.
