I have a similar doubt. How to differentiate between mayamalavagowla and saveri? both use same swaras. the only way i have been able to differentiate is by listening to the mood of the song, but it's not accurate. please help
Check the prayogas/phases. Saveri can only have S R M P and D in the arohanam phrases. Also every raga has specific phrases that define it. It's important to know those.
