- I guess am doing a breakfast vlog including dishes prepared for a guest, for the first time. I find happiness in serving home cooked meals to our guests and make them feel at home. This time it was my husband’s very dear friend Vishnu, who ain’t able to come for our housewarming. He had some official meeting in our home town and we happily invited him for a stay over. I planned the menu quickly with whatever available in my pantry.
We have been using Purvina brand from quite sometime and I must say, the aroma of turmeric and coconut oil is something that we find very rare. They sent me few other products for a review. It’s a small, women-run business. Feel so happy to support them through my video and I hope you all would extend your support as well.

Hing - 1/2 tsp
Dried red chillies - 1
Water - 2 cups
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Shallots - 7 - 8
Curry leaves - a handful
Tomato - 2 small chopped
Vegetables - 1 drumsticks, 1 carrot, 1 raw plantain, 4 - 5 okra
Salt
Tamarind extract - 1/2 cup depending on the sourness
Sambar powder - 3 - 4 tbsp
Coriander leaves - a handful chopped ( I had added it at the end, but forgot to take a video )

Vermicelli - 3 cups
Eggs - 5 mixed with salt and pepper
Ghee - for eggs & Pulao
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Onion - 2 large chopped
Green chillies - 5 sliced
Carrot - 1 large
Beans - 1 cup chopped
Red chilli sauce - 2 tbsp
Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Chicken stock - 1 cup

White rice - 1.5 cup
Split moong dal - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Hing/Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - 2 tbsp chopped

Black peppercorns - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp

I have seen our moms making these tasks do only by the girl child and boys comfortable on their couch. I dont complain for the gender inequality moms used to do😀., but what i found later when we grew ip was, we girls found tasks easy, whereas our brothers found it hard when they were away from home being in hostel.
So that my boys doesnt struggle that way, making them do what they will have to do themseleves later in life. 😀😀😀

If its cooked late night, and if tou want to serve for breakfast, you dont have to place in the refrigerator. It wont get spoilt and it even depends on the climate too. During summers, its better to place in refrigerator ☺️☺️

I guess thats learnt bu experience…. Even i used to prepare in very large quantity in my ealry days that food remains for next two days …. And gradually i understood the quanity needed for how much even guest come ….. it comes by default ☺️☺️☺️……
I may not be able to tell abt the rest, usually for biriyanys, 1 cup of rice is good enough for average two people …☺️☺️
