Have always been intrigued by this place, as we used to holiday at Queenscliff and look across to the Quarantine station, when I was a kid. Can remember when Harold Holt died near there pretty vividly too. Never been to the Quarantine Station, but the Mornington Peninsula is gorgeous. Some great wineries and also The wonderful gardens of Diggers Club and pier in Dromana. Thanks for taking me on this fascinating journey!

@@kingdeanoadventures Should be fantastic. Not sure if I will ever do a lap, or just keep doing sections in stints. My fly in and fly out strategy with my parred back gear for camping and cooking has worked pretty well for me, to cover a lot of this country over the years. I still have the Pilbarra to go, along with Cape York and QLD between Noosa and Townsville. Then maybe a trip into western NSW and QLD. So much still to see in SA and Vic too!

Been down there many times, living in mount Martha most of my life. To bad you didn’t do the walk all the way down they have the gun that shot The first shots of World War I were fired in Melbourne, Australia, on August 5, 1914. They were fired by a coastal artillery battery at Port Phillip Heads when the German merchant vessel SS Pfalz attempted to slip out of port before the declaration of war was made known. We often walk there to the end then catch the bus back. Lots of history.
