  • NOT EVERYONE WILL EXPERIENCE SIDE EFFECTS OF MEDICATIONS. NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE THE SAME SIDE EFFECTS THAT I SHARE IN THIS VIDEO. THIS VIDEO IS NOT MEANT TO SCARE PEOPLE AND MAKE PEOPLE STOP TAKING MEDCIATIONS. YOU SHOULD NEVER JUST STOP TAKING YOUR MEDS WITHOUT TALKING TO A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL. FINALLY, I AM MERELY SHARING MY OWN EXAMPLES OF SOME OF THE SIDE EFFECTS THAT I’VE EXPERIENCED OVER THE YEARS. I WANT TO HELP OTHERS TO FEEL LESS ALONE.
We often need medications to help us to manage our mental illness or physical illness. However, they can often come with side effects that can then mean we need to take more medications to manage the side effects. In this video I share my own experience of side effects from the many medications I’ve tried over the years. I hope this helps people to feel less alone with theirs.
I want to stress that everyone is different and will experience different side effects and some people may not experience them at all. Also, I talk about specific brand names that have given me side effects, but this doesn’t mean you will experience them if you take the same medications - we are all different.
Don’t forget to tell me how your week has been.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this - I hope to see you next time.
Please subscribe to my channel for more videos about mental illness and leave any questions or comments you may have in the space below.
Take care and I hope you have a safe, peaceful week.

Welcome to my UA-cam channel where I’m hoping to educate people on the different types of mental disorders to provide an understanding and learn ways to cope. I also vlog about my own experience of living with mental illness, as well as sharing other aspects of my life. I want to raise awareness of mental health problems and mental illness, so I hope my channel helps you and others.
I am not a qualified mental health expert, but I am an expert in living with mental illness. All my videos are based on lots of research and I do my best to explain everything as clearly as possible and provide examples from my life to help you understand. I might not get it right every time, but I do the best I can. I hope the findings from my research are of benefit to you.
This Vlog is from my perspective, but I do appreciate that not everyone will have had the same experience as myself - we are all different after all. I have also tried, where applicable, to reference everything correctly, but we are all human and make mistakes - please stick with me.

My mom put me on pills when I was 5 and I'm still on them my life is ruined they ruined everything about me
I'm never gonna be normal until the day I die you can thank my mom (sarcasm) I had a grandma who cared about me a lot
She tried too get me off of them my mom did not listen even know she's used to be a nurse but she says she was on depressionts
That has nothing to do with what's right for me she died a couple years later I was devastated my hope to getting off them was gone
Thanks mom (sarcasm) ever since I had sleep paralysis deep messed up twisted nightmares voices in my head depression
Feeling like somebody's watching me in my room anxiety constipation sinister thoughts smiling at important things like funerals
Cause of the pills I was put on them cause my mom says I would watch the lightning mc queen movie over and over again and rocking a car
Back and forth keep in mind my mom was in her 20s when she had me
parents please dont make the same mistake to your children I'm 17 now and I still have the same side effect's as I did when I was 5
Give your child a chance to shine cause me I was normal for a change you need to listen to your child first
Thanks for reading and I bid you good night

Mirtazipine was my favourite medication but I couldn’t cope with the constant hunger and weight gain so now I don’t take anything.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry that you had weight gain and hunger, I totally get what you mean. Sometimes the side effects make you feel worse then the depression. Take care and thanks for commenting. Hugs x

Hi Anthony, I'm sorry you have experienced so many side effects. The suicidal thoughts is the most worrying, I am shocked when meds that are supposed to help us make us feel worse and even make us feel suicidal or manic. I hope you find that the meds do help with your symptoms, best of luck managing the side effects and thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Take care and have a good week. Hugs x

Hi Matthew, good to hear from you. It can be challenging changing or reducing meds, but it sounds like you are coping well. I agree with the concentration, I have the same issue. Take care my friend. Hugs x

Hi Gem, I take 100mg of sertraline, olazapine 10mg and pregablin 75mg, the side effects iv had are sexual disfunction at times, tiredness having days of not having a lot of energy to do things but this isn’t all of time, some days I need to push myself to do things
