Very helpful to see this. Looks a lot less intimidating once some of that stuff off. It does not look fun but seems doable. I just never like having to open up an AC system. Did you replace the o-rings on the lines or were they still fine?
It's good practice to replace them, but I did not in this case. It held vacuum just fine before charging it back up.
