Thanks for the excellent work, airailimages! Could you please specify what camera you're using that blurs so nicely the propellers? It's a BIG improvement on the standard cameras that freeze the props. Cheers from Canada.
At the 75th anniversary of Naval Aviation Airshow in Pensacola in May of ‘86 a group of Grumman’s called the Kalamazoo Cats flew. F4F, F6F, F7F and an F8F. An F14 joined them demonstrating old vs. new Grumman designs. They flew the missing man formation in honor of the Challenger Shuttle Astronauts. They flew directly toward the crowd and as they passed over the review stand the F14 stood on its tail with its wings swept and climbed straight up. Looking to see the older planes go over with a hole in the formation was the most moving tribute I have ever witnessed.
Great work! I was there for the Friday show, and I think you captured the highlights. Loved the display of the Grumman Cats in the Warbird area, as well as the flight. I was hoping to see the silver Tigercat fly, though. The E-2C flight demo was an unusual treat, and much appreciated. Thanks to the warbird owners who shared their wonderful birds with us!
Thanks for another Oshkosh post! Love the old warbirds! Great to see em flying. As always Mr Johnsen God bless you and yours and thanks again for everything you do! God bless the USA!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Warning...Aircraft Overload! You had a great spot to video the day! So many great looking planes, Grummans, Mustangs, Hawkeyes and a perfect looking F4U, don't forget the C-47s. If this ain't perfection...I don't know what is? Thanks for your dedication and "hard" work!
Thank thank you and dare I say Thank you!!! Most beautiful parade I’ve seen in a while.. as long as these birds keep getting into the air the longer it’s possible to remember and never forget their place in history.
Thank you Fred for getting more of the Cat Flight! Also, the E-2 Section Demo was really good, along with the Warbirds, as well as the Osprey two ship.
Oh, and on other thing Fred; that C-45 in Tri-Color is a very cool surprise, because I never knew the C-45/JRB ever wore that color scheme, ever. I've seen them in bare metal, in the Orange/White Trainer Aircraft scheme, and I know of one finished in Glossy Sea Blue, however.
Incredible video ! Thanks for sharing these beautiful aircraft. Had no idea the AWACS type plane was so agile. I would have thought the radar disk would have ruined any good flight characteristics it might have had. Apparently not and your video clearly showed that.
Brilliant footage, Fred, and amazing sound, colour and weather also. We struggle in the UK nowadays to see prop job airshows such as this. Was everything seen here filmed on the Sony RX10 Mk4?
Thank you! I had to check the video files, since I used several cameras during the course of Oshkosh. This video was made with the Sony FDR-AX53, with a Takstar shotgun mic.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Whenever the ambient audio is usable, we go with it. If you ever hear music in any of our videos, please know it is only because the ambient in unusable for one of several reasons.
That crate in the thumbnail is the self same crate that was hanging around the Ukraine recently, up and down like a yo yo, watching, tracking, hoping...
Take a look at Oshkosh Saturday 2022, including the flight of a civilian-owned MiG-29: ua-cam.com/video/OAp7V509EQ0/v-deo.html

When Grumman ruled the sky.
Thank you for this magnificent lineup of warbirds. The "Ironworks" quartet is still the ultimate show-stopper.
You are very welcome. Yes -- the Cat Flight was impressive to see.

That's a great bit of history to relate. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Watched Blacksheep as a kid, always liked the Corsair!
Yup!
Bad old Pappy Boington!
I really like that Mitchell in Navy colors as a PBJ. But that low and fast flyby by the Tigercat was hair-standing-up-on-back-of-neck stuff
Great video!! Amazing group of Grumman cats, but that Tigercat is gorgeous.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, there's just no place like Oshkosh to see such scenes.

Thanks Very Much For This! Great Video! No Jibber Jabber Or Music Except The Short Segment On The Cats Which Was Perfectly Produced! Thank You.
I saw the "Grumman Cats" , including the F-14, a t an air show in Michigan in the late 80's. The F-7 and F-8 are still my faves.

It was great seeing all the CATS at play! Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Once again, the best warbird content on U Toob with the best editing (none of the stuff I don't need to see). 2 big thumbs up!
Thank you very much!
More amazing footage!!
Thanks for watching!
Gotta love the E-2s!!
That was quite a show they put on!

The weather helped this year; things just looked good! Thanks, as always.
That F7F Tigercat just sounds so damn good. Goosebumps ☺️
That Navy blue Mitchell was gorgeous.
Meet the Grummans!!! Fantastic❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

You are very welcome. Thanks for watching.
The video of the CATS was awesome. Great video almost like I was there.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was a terrific video! Thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate your gracious comments.
Portions of the vid remind me of my days at Nakhon Phanom…C-47’s, A1E’s…along with a few Air America mutts thrown in the mix😜
Thanks
You are welcome!

Anyone know what type of smaller twin airplane is @ 2:13 ? Really cool plane. It looks exactly like many toys back n the 40's and early 50's.
The silver taildragger twin is a Cessna UC-78.
@12:45 It still amazes me that the Hawkeye can be yanked around like that.
Its funny because he wasn’t supposed to make that pass. Air boss got hecka mad at him haha
No music! ,(I love it!).

The thumbnail Look like E-42
Why were there no P-38s at the show? Are they just that rare?
That crate in the thumbnail is the self same crate that was hanging around the Ukraine recently, up and down like a yo yo, watching, tracking, hoping...
how did you get your elevated position?
Special rooftop platforms available to registered media reps.
gotta love the phony bombs!lol
Piro guy is a little early
