We looked at the medela symphony obviously too expensive, (for feeding while the baby is in the NICU) this video saved us, thank you.
I am happy you found it helpful! Many places/hospitals do rent the Symphony which is a true hospital grade pump (stronger) and is best for establishing a supply when baby is in the NICU. Most insurance companies will reimburse the cost of the rental for a baby who starts out in the NICU. If this isn't an option in your area, the Spectra is definitely a great pump! Congrats on your baby and I hope baby get to be home with you soon :)
Thank you for your review. I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. My 7 year old daughter was mostly breastfed and formula supplement. Now pregnant with baby girl I will be pumping. I didn’t know which spectra to go for but you helped out. Thanks I have purchased the Elvie pump as well which I’m super excited about ☺️

Sabina Beltran it’s a really great pump. More buttons than the medela but for good reason. It is really straight forward, I’ll break it down for you in the video
Love your videos!! This one is under my insurance but out of pocket $80… not too bad! I have the options for EVENFLO ADVANCED 1 and Medela Pump in Style with MaxFlow that are zero dollars out of pocket.. would you pick one over the other if given the choice?

I wish my insurance covered the S1!!! But I’ll take the S2 because it is fully covered. I do have the option to also get the Spectra Synergy gold. But insurance covers a portion I’d still need to pay out of pocket. Which would you choose if you have that option?? The gold is not portable but has a lot more customization features for each individual pump, it’s dual motor.
Same. My insurance doesn’t cover the S1 but it covers the S2.
So I can’t use S2 with power bank ?

I like the S1, but my insurance covers the S2. To upgrade, I’d have to pay $135 more for the S1.

I have the spectra S2 and I hated the suction with my first baby... I'm 22 weeks and not excited to use it
Oh man! Sorry you this didn’t work for you the first time. I am sure you played around with the settings. If you are in the US, insurance should give you a new pump for each baby, so maybe you can try a different pump
For the S1, since it has a battery in it, would it be safe to bring on an airplane? Or would I need to check it in?
What a great question! Since a breast pump is considered a medical device, it should not count against you for your carry on luggage. Spectra recommends pulling it out of the designated bag you have it in, to avoid delays when going through security. If you have a specific concern about the battery, I would check with TSA regulations, but I think you should be good to go.

Limit per TSA guidelines: about 27,000mAh
