This is the first time watching this show and it was cathartic. I have spent most of my life being heavy for my height (4' 11") and hating clothes shopping. I had never heard of a wedding boutique for large people when I got married and, after 2 miserable attempts at bridal boutiques, ended up with an off the rack lacey ivory dress. I wish I could have had that bridal WOW moment.
Without any details to go by, if you're married now you could renew your vows and get that dresss

Same. I got married in the only dress that would fit. Everyone else thought it was beautiful but I settled. Hopefully your day was still wonderful!

I watch this show for the genuine love shown to these curvy brides. It’s so uplifting and such a lovely change from the bridezillas on SYTTD.

Friendly hint for friends who are also big women like me: go to your appointments -- and for general clothes shopping -- with your hair and makeup done exactly the way you like them. It helps you see yourself put together so you know that you *really DO* look nice in that dress or fab in the wedding gown. You know what I mean? It's so helpful!
Yes i am not overweight but i would feel very odd in a dress all of the sudden. I would need a few tries to see myself out of my jogging pants. 😂
The one with Bethany had me in tears because she's absolutely gorgeous and if your reading this I just want to tell you I'm so so sorry for the mean things mean people have said and done to you because they are so very wrong and people who are hurt , hurt people .... Just please know that your amazing and so pure and have so much to give and it's a disservice for you to not share your beautiful light because of people who aren't important

This was actually sad to watch. These women are tormented by their weight, by their past growing up being bullied or just by life. They are all so sweet and you can tell they're just absolutely amazing people. They deserve to feel beautiful because THEY ARE beautiful! Be nice to yourself, treat yourself how you would treat someone you love. You deserve nothing less.
The entourage of the brides here are so much better than most of the other _dress_ shows. The support their bride and don't carry on like they've had no home training, hating on everything and throwing hissy fits.

I adore this shop, Al and Jo , and the beautiful work they do…I pray every day that they can return to their lovely little bridal salon where they work miracles for women who have all but given up hope to ever thinking they deserve to feel beautiful. 2-1/2 hours and i couldn't tear myself away. So emotional for these women. So happy for them that they could see the beauty in themselves that those who Love and care about them see.

Love this show Jo and Al do amazing work
Jo and Al are the most amazing, supportive, caring and empathetic women. It’s never about making a sale, it’s always about making the bride feel and look wonderful. The issue I have is with the supposed “support” people that some brides bring with them. They seem to think that theirs is the only opinion that matters and sometimes make snide little comments, or mothers paying for the dress use that as having control over what dress her daughter can have. I just do not understand this sort of behaviour. It is the brides day, NOT yours. My only daughter was stillborn in 1997, I will never go wedding dress shopping with her, and wish so much that she was here. So,you over opinionated and sometimes rude family members, be grateful for what you have, and be there to support and not criticize.
So sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you've gone through.
I have two sons so won't be dress shopping with them either. They live in Colorado and we're in Texas so wasn't invited to join their wive's shopping for their dresses. I wore my Mom's dress so didn't go dress shopping with her.
Mandy looked beautiful in her champagne dress and it saddens me that she worried she’d would be a laughingstock at her own wedding. Shame on anyone who sees anything but the beauty she is.

In addition to understanding all of the styles and sizes they need to order and stock, these women are amazing at finding a person's deep down fears and hang ups and help them back to beautiful.
As a nurse of 35 years just recently retired, I do think that extra weight is unhealthy, but extra weight in no way makes it ok to berate a person.
Absolutely. I mean chicken pox isn't healthy either but there are reasons behind someone getting unhealthy whether its overweight or depression or bad teeth or a broken leg once you have the problem you cant berate somone over it you can only help them and I'd say a lot of people the minute somon berates them ends up eating for comfort.
No one is slim and trim by nature . Women have curves that develop with age and child birth and just being a woman . Embrace yourselves ladies ! ❤❤
It's a show about wedding dresses. The women on this program read the comments. How about a non judgmental comment about how lovely they are. These women live with people like you day in and day out. You don't need to add to their feeling that they can't go a day without judgement.
I need Jo and AL to come give me a pep talk every morning. What joy they bring.

I absolutely love this version of SYTTD better than all the others and it’s all because of Jo n Al and their total embrace of their brides! Every single big girl with body acceptance issues that walks in, leaves feeling like the beautiful bride she is! I have only ONE problem. Every time they put a veil on, they pick a short veil that is soooo 1980’s or even ‘70’s. Long veils will elongated the bodies of the brides n help them even more.

I love these two ladies so much. They put these ladies at ease and would never let a them walk out looking ridiculous. I am 60 years old have 10 children, 1 foster child, 25 and a half grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. There is 5 generations of women alive and three foster grand granchildren that I almost forgot. I would love to see myself in a wedding dress. My grandma was my very most favourite woman ever.
What a great video. I have only known I'm AUDHD for six months. Watching this video has made me realise I already had great Autistic survival instincts.
My home has always been known as my fortress. Everything in it is about my wellbeing and safety. Since I first had a car I would spend endless hours of contentment sitting outside my parents house listening to music, so technically she was my first fort.
My garden is also very much my little bit of paradise. It centers me in a way no where else can. If you get invited into my garden you're very special to me. The down side to that is when relationships break down there is a feeling that the special person you have shared it with has tainted it. It can take me months to go back there. Then I have to take time to rebuild and clear it of all negativity making it safe again.
I now understand why I feel that way and I am very protective over who I allow into that space.
Please keep making these videos and live streams they are just wonderful and I am very jealous I have always wanted to adopt a peacock, but I think Stitch would be a fan 😂
