The best you can afford, but Live Lite is plenty to get started with, and that comes with the Launchpad/Launchkey from Novation, as well as the Scarletts from Focusrite.
idk why but nothing works for me when using stuff like this. im forced to just pick bass notes and make a bass line that way. it wont let me use my keyboard to play things
Yep! Go in to controls and use the transpose dial. If the sample is in F for example, you need to go down 5 semitones to make that a C (count from F down to C on a piano keyboard, one note = one semitone) and the sample will then play back as whatever note you press on your keyboard, or draw in to the piano roll
@@TheAudioJourney Thanks so much. I managed to do it using Simpler and the Tuner (Ableton's Tuner plugin is great). I pitched it directly in Simpler to align with C and it worked great. I created a great sounding 808 bass for basslines using that technique and some additional fiddling.
