High pay is not the answer for the problem. It is the heart that holds dear to the love of the motherland. China's current standard of living is not all that high compare to Western nations. So even a lower salary will not affect their standard of living. I think the Chinese govt would have by now a standard procedure to welcome such talents and that they are well taken care off not only in the semi conductors industry but any others as well. Those who wants to return but haven't are probably afraid of threats made against them as in the case of some scientists who are now being or pending prosecutions. These are how they play but then the whole world seems to be oblivious to it except for some countries that have awaken to their highhanded, dirty and unscrupulous tactics. And Chinese included. Ukraine crisis is one good example. China set an exemplary standard of taking no sides and avoiding war if can. There is no clear winner in a war in these days of modern warfare. Who suffers? The people suffer. Who get away and enjoy life in the deep underground bunkers. The politicians, the elite warlords and the military arms suppliers and their families and gosh you poor donkeys have to fend for yourself.

@@davidhoang6360 Hmm...that statement applies to both Americans and the Chinese, though it's far easier to find out what is really happening in the US.
It's quite humorous to watch Chinese tech propaganda though, as a few days ago I watched a similar video regarding how China was already making Graphene chips which were 10,000 times faster than TSMC's 7nm.
Oh, apparently China is also somehow making 2nm chips, and were the first to do so. IBM would obviously beg to differ, and so would I, but just like this video, the CCP floats the info and it gets pumped out to ppl.
Though I am sure China has ppl on both photo chips and are doing heavy research into graphene, the fact is they aren't leading the world in development. If they were, Taiwan wouldn't mean shit to them bc TSMC would no longer be close to the bleeding edge.
Realistically telling their ppl _"We stole what we could and made up a decade of progress in 2 years, but we are at least another decade behind in design and possibly more in manufacturing/fabrication tech. Huawei is having a chip crisis and is already generations behind not just Apple and Qualcomm, but the smaller manufacturers too. We can't import what we need atm and no one will let us near their tech so stealing it is a lot harder than usual right now. If we fall much further behind we will either have to take Taiwan, or make a deal with the West that would help the majority of Chinese citizens but hurt the CCP in regards to screwing poorer nations (and well to do ones) out of their ports, precious mineral mines etc etc.. We may also have to leave Taiwan be."_ So fall way, way behind to the point where catching up is nigh impossible. Tell the world they are willing to cooperate as equal partners and actually live up to their agreements instead of this shadier than the CIA bullshit they pull now, or start WW3. Hmm...
Coming to a compromise is the best for everyone, but Xi would lose some power, so I could 100% see him either choosing to lock citizens down even more as China falls further and further behind, or helping to facilitate blowing up 25% of the world's population in a giant War no one wins just to *_attempt_* to save face since he can literally *NEVER* say he is/was wrong. He's one of those ppl who would rather rule over rubble than be an incredibly wealthy former CCP leader. World history will be brutal to this man, and unless China takes over the world, he will be earmarked among the most evil leaders in World history. And that's without knowing the majority of the crap he has put into motion. When the sunlight of time eventually illuminates everything, who knows how appalling it will truly end up being.
Of course they are the world leader in photonic computing... _cough_ nonsense _cough_

To overcome chip problems you need your own IP. Engineers just can't use what they're used to if it utilizes unauthorized IP. @@dexterminador Chill. It was a genuine question. Free web is by definition the access to the internet with no censorship whatsoever. I don't think anyone in the world would disagree that the internet in most of the world is uncensored. However in china as you can agree, it's heavily censored, therefore blocking access to information and leading to manipulation of the truth. Just like North Korea.

@@varadillath4508 in the US and Europe the internet is heavily censored with the outright banning of Russian, Iranian and other “enemy country” news and cultural channels. The west also uses the internet to proliferate their views and brainwash other people. The west even goes further to ban the literature and art of Russian cultural icons like Tchaikovsky.
China rightfully bans western mediums of brainwashing and has thus avoided the export of violent western culture and media disinformation which the west is so good at. Of course research, literature, and other cultural websites are still allowed for access in China which promotes greater enlightenment. Unfortunately, western news channels are not banned in China. I would suggest they ban them too as these are some of the worst purveyors of outright harmful lies. Asian, African, and Latin American news channels should only be permitted. The western media is too treacherous to be tolerated.

@@platosbeard4449 damn my guy is so brainwashed. In the west you can criticize their government openly and criticize policies. If something bad happens people can openly report it. China has one of the worlds worst freedom of press. That has nothing to do with western ideology. Also the west will provide you with platforms (such as UA-cam) where you can criticize the west. Will china let you do that? NO. Seriously have no idea how you can even compare the two. Plus it's not just the west. The whole world has issues with the Chinese government because of their tiger diplomacy. Using your logic, you shouldn't wouldn't people in western countries ban all pro Chinese media? Why haven't they? It's because the west and the rest of the world is tolerant and respects freedom of speech. Something you don't respect clearly. Also live how the only example countries you gave were tyrannical oppressive regimes. Iran is on the brink of collapse because the people have had enough. Russian conscripts are running away and the people of Russia are starting to hate Putin for starting a war. Are you really happy classing china with those countries?

Another of China’s story with violins on how they not only compete but prevail in the microchip industry. Stories like this is how they vent out their frustrations, but as can be seen from the fast, reality is another elusive thing. We don’t see any reason for former Chinese citizens to even go back to China to live their with their families when everything in their homeland is falling apart from the economy, real estate, education, the buildings and infrastructure, currency, foods, pandemic etc., etc. one has to be totally insane to do that.
The Axiom they use that “chickens always come home,” are good only for those with pea brains like chickens. Human being use their intellect and reason. It’s time to say goodbye once again to China!
