- Corian Ramp Sink - This is a quick overview of a Corian Ramp sink. I'll show you the top details as well as how the drain is attached to the underside of the sink.
A drain must be removable to access any glogs. It also needs to attach to a regular drain pipe. Without access to the top side of the drain assembly, a specially designed drain attachment is required.

Nice video very Helpful 👍 Thank you (From India)
Much appreciated
Your videos are really helping a lots , thank you so much.
Thank you, and thanks for watching.
Thank you for the videos! Super helpful and informative. How do you do the skirting for the countertop? Any chance you could make a video on that?
I used a v-groover to do the apron edge. I have some videos on how to v-groove.
Good work sir I m Korean corpentar and Qatar working
Thank you
Can you explain the fastening of the screws? I've heard helicoil's are one way to fasten screws to solid surface
They're is a link in the description for the brass inserts.
Hi Andy ! Thanks for all your videos ! how would you make an almost flat circular slope on a panel that brings water into a centered hole? a slope machined in the thickness of the top to make an almost flat washbasin? This would make a very clean washbasin for a minimalist seamless design ! Hope you understand what I mean. Bye !
You're welcome, glad they help. I would thermoform it to that shape. Machining it would make it pretty thin at the drain.
@@AndyGraves yeah, I know it requires an oven and a vacuum press... sadly ! Thanks for your answer !
Good
Thank you
Can you share the brass insets used to attach the pan. Don’t see the link in the comments.
I'll try to find them and post the link.
How do you install to the wall with out a bottom cabinet?
Use a cleat around the wall and a brace in the front that is attached to the cleat.
Does the water drain slowly since there is no overflow hole?
No. Why would it drain slow without an overflow?
@@AndyGraves …because an overflow hole makes the water drain faster. Kind of like 2.5 gallon drinking water. You have to puncture the top for the water to flow/dispense faster. . I used to have a vessel sink without an overflow hole and it drained so slowly. To fix this issue, I had to do something similar like this video. ua-cam.com/video/EpH4fX32ams/v-deo.htmlsi=1oGWcVpvhkxY7upn
Got it. This doesn't happen but it also has a large trough under the sink when the water gathers and then drains.
Thank you for answering the question!
How would you make a kitchen countertop which is supposed to be 20mm thick in the front out of 12mm corian? Would you make 45degrees joint in the front of it or glue two 12mm pieces together and use router to plan it to 20mm?
I have videos on edge fabrication. It would depend on the color and pattern. Brined material would be best to miter the edge. Solid colors could use a drop edge. Particulate colors could use stacked edge.
Andy, how wide is the slot at the bottom of the sink?
The slot is a little less than 1/8"
hi, Do you epoxy all the flat parts together, right? So it is not, strictly speaking 'seamless', is it? :)
That's correct.
How do you figure out the slope of the ramp?😮
I designed it on a cad program until I looked the way it looked. Start with 2" drop in the front and 8" in the back.
@@AndyGraves Thank you for the info.
Stay blessed 🙌
Roughly what dimensions did you use for the sink bowl depth in the front and back walls?
I actually don't remember but I would guess 4" in back and 2" in the front.
@@AndyGraves Wow thank you for the quick reply! Love your video. Wishing you all the best.
I ended up "modeling" mine with 3 inches in the back and 2 inches in the front. The slope might be too shallow though, so I might switch to 1.5 in the front.
@@HannahLau7 Now that you mention it, I think it was 1.5" because the strip in the front is about an inch.
@@AndyGraves awesome!! I’m going to go with 1.5” then. I like your sink cuz it has that front edge. All other ramp sinks have no edge and immediately start sloping but I’m not a fan of that look. I’ve been using pictures of your sink as reference to show everyone haha.
How to clean the gap if there’s hair or anything gets stuck in there
The drain can be unscrewed from the bottom.
As far as cleaning it, your guess is as good as mine. Seems like it would be difficult.
Thank u! I might just stick to the corian premade sinks. 8254 has a similar ramp look. Not as sleek but with a drain hole.
Hi! Would it possible for make and ship it to
New Jersey?
Hello, we don't ship anymore because the item always breaks during transit. There should be local companies that can make these for you.
Well maybe given where you are I'd like to consider a road trip pickup. I'm looking for a 36 inch or possible 38 inch single sink with 14 inches both sides for counter space.
How does one fill such a sink? IE plug it?
Hello, these are typically used in commercial applications. Commercial vanity sinks don't have stoppers so that you can fill up the sink. However, we have used these things in residential applications and you just don't have the ability to stop the drain.
Hi colleague! is there a project for this sink in solidworks
Hello, no this is my own design.
would you share your cnc program
No, it doesn't work without a usb key.
where to buy ir?
A local fabricator can make one for you.
Can you make this with quartz?
And do you sell these?
We sell them only in solid surface material like Corian.
@@AndyGraves price?
@@jermainepeart9498 If you would like a price you can call or text Valerie with your sink dimensions to 714-528-3789
Andy what product number is that? I like the color
I'm not sure the exact color, I will have to check and get back with you.
Its actually HI-MACS Ice Queen
rubber gasket is the answer no pressure bur gravity
Hi, for what do you use the rubber gasket?
When you designed this sink… did you have it specially made at a homedepot or how did you fabricate the solid piece of corona? Like how did you create the 2 inch drop into the seamless drain slit? This is really cool
We made the entire sink and then glued it to the bottom of the Corian material.
I have another video on the ramp sink that shows the bottom drain section.
it seems as though everyone has a different name for this? style
I know we get the same thing from architects.
