Our customer was able to get the damage to his vehicle fixed free of charge thanks to the dash cam footage. It's unfortunate that he had to report it to the Vancouver Police Department but we've heard of cases like this before. Witnesses may be able to pressure the driver into leaving a note, but whether the note is of any value is really up to that driver.

My Blackvue once recorded a Cadillac broadsiding a school bus. After the fact, I read in the local paper that the bus driver was at fault and was suspended or fired. So I pulled my memory card and viewed it in my home on the computer, and clear as day, the bus driver was not at fault. The fault looked like a miscommunication error between the traffic light and the crossing guards remote wand. My video showed the bus driver had a green light. Provided my camera's micro-sd memory card anonymously.
The next day a road crew replaced the junction box that controls that intersection. The good news is nobody got hurt and the bus driver was vindicated.

Agreed, we were shocked how long it took him just to park in that spot across from our customer. We had to speed up the video 400%!

That man should not be driving a car. Clearly too unaware of his surroundings to be behind the wheel of a 3,000lb+ vehicle. Glad they were able to track him down!
He's elderly- I just saw a video of an old man (70+) backing straight into a laundrymat and dragging the poor guy drying his clothes underneath his SUV.

R C Could be a factor, but I've seen many drivers his age who were much more competent than that. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to drive ever...

Always own a dashcam , its the best solution ever , even if u got a shitty car it doesnt matter it can save u one time

I'd be sending that video to ICBC (BC Insurance company) and recommending he re-do his test because clearly he cannot drive safely.
Had a similar incident happen to me last month and the guy left a bogus phone number. I was a victim of not having a dash cam. #lessonlearned

Based upon his parking skills that's someone who should NOT be driving.
What does the law say about this in Canada? Here in Florida the driver-at-fault has to report the accident to the police (leaving the note is not enough). They'd get him for hit and run for pulling a stunt like that.
I believe you're required here as well, it would be good just to cover yourself as it's easy for a note to 'disappear' and the other driver could say that you hit and ran.
Not the police but ICBC, the gov't run auto insurance corp.
Here in Delaware, the police won't even come out if your in a in parking lot. They say that's private property and they won't come. It's ridiculous!
That's why I am scared to be driving around old people...
look at the accident statistics ! It is young people you should be worried about. Especially the alcohol and drug users.

Good job 👍 you should go further though and get the cellink neo battery and expansion packs put in they are easy to put in however it does cost around $600 I did it because I’m sick of local vandals and this from things that happen over 24 hour period when I’m not around !! I found the power majic pro even though it has setting it draws too much from the battery it draws and leaves just enough to start the car which is not that practical I bought the power majic pro realised it was a waste of money took it out installed the battery packs
Agreed. The Cellink NEO and Cellink NEO Extended batteries are great additions for extending the amount of time you are able to record for in parking mode. This will also prolong the life of your vehicle battery as well!

Hi Francisco, your dash cam will alert you every time you return to the car to let you know the number of incidents that occurred while you were gone. And then if you wanted to view these incidents, then you'll have to connect through the phone application. Hope that clarifies things!
Does this only records when there is motion? I'm searching for a cam that films when someone is touching my car because my wipers got destroyed 2 times (it's not allowed to film public placed where I live so. Parking mode with motion detection that films passengers passing by is a NOPE)
The Thinkware F800 Pro and Q800 Pro have an Energy Saving mode where recording is only triggered when an impact is detected and otherwise does not record when there is only motion.

to be honest that cam does not clearly captures license plate when u paused the video I still cannot read that number. looks like the other guy who took photos helped to grab the culprit and not the dash cam
It's pretty clear at 1:50 and that's with the UA-cam compression, the original file will be even clearer.

The plate was legible and the police were able to track down the driver using the footage. UA-cam compression makes it a bit tough to read
If I was an idiot and I hit somebody's car and you're not in it I would break the glass and steal your dash cam so there is no evidence think about that
You are an idiot then, because chances are you'll be caught on a surveillance camera or maybe another dash cam, or somebody's cell phone. There are cameras everywhere nowadays, think about that!
Plus some of these cams, like Blackvue, are uploading the video to the cloud. Now you're recorded breaking in.
You should think about this cloud on my dash cam will record you doing that and with the battery packs and expansion packs I have my car is recording up to around 30 hours continuously !! It’s dumb people like you who go and do crimes who think you are untouchable and we haven’t got tech to catch you douchebags

Mr COYY's Plus those Gs are extremely hard to steer. You need Popeye's grips to turn the steering wheel; And the throttle response is really lackluster. You are blasting off like a rocket, or the car does not move until the gas pedal is depressed a lot. But at the end of the day, he is the operator of the vehicle, and is himself solely responsible for operating it in a safe and lawful way. This predictament he got himself into makes me miss those old cars a lot. The K cars, Shadows, Cutlass, among others were so easy to maneuver.

It wasn't a hit and run, he left a note. Why would he take his time to write a note and leave a false number, to me it was an honest mistake due to his age (he's not as used to give his number as younger people).
