- The footage in this video isn't meant to be anything special, just some old footage of Morristown & Erie ALCO C424s 18 & 19 in action. This is actually the only video we have of 19 in service. Anyway, enjoy this Throwback footage from the M&E.
We will miss those two beasts.
They served M&E well…
The days when the M&E actually had customers, good times.
Those traction motors spooling up at 2:26 . Yeah, that's nice.
Ah the C424's Alco I never see them but i hear about them and also on video. Good video.
They sold them, unfortunately.
@@MattsTrainArchive 19 to Booton 18 to IRM. I know via other youtubers.
Cool video
Nice vid, did this line shut down or something?
There are many changes since when this footage was taken. ALCOs retired, the M&E is now only the Whippany Line.
Wait what do you mean of only footage or 19 on service? Is it rarely used?
This is OUR only footage of the engine in service.
Both engines have since been retired. 18 is out at the IRM to be restorized as TP&W 800, and 19 is in Boonton, NJ owned by Tri State HS.
@@PennRailVideos ah I see thank you
are these just on the Morristown and Erie rail? Just learning about this. Did they shut down any rails or they just retired the trains
