So helpful. I wish I could be a point of help for someone in my lifetime. I don't think anyone should feel so hopeless that they can't find someone who will help them
I have listened to this on YT several times after hearing the original broadcast on the radio. I would like to make one more comment. Speaking from personal experience, I firmly believe that as a Christ follower for many decades, it is not prudent to share personal issues with just anyone who calls themselves a Christian. A certain level of trust would have to be established before sharing one's heart with another. Without that in place, well meaning Christians will spew out scriptures that are taken out of context. When erroneously applied, bible verses can be very harmful and hurtful to someone who is in utter turmoil. I applaud you Sarah Robinson and Focus on the Family👏
I would say “PRESS FORWARD”, you are here right now feeling all these things but what is the Lord going to do for you as you press forward in the future”. I can completely relate as I went through the darkest time of my life and the Lord rescued me from depression and anxiety but I now realized what was happening. When you realize that you have an issue you need to overcome it not let it overcome you. We are to face and endure those negative emotions every time that we are feeling them. We take them to the Lord in prayer while encouraging ourselves. We can find comfort with Bible passages; the book of Psalms is great! I find that we feel so understood in it. (God’s truth, it is alive!). Not immediately but suddenly we will feel better with God’s help. Well I never had therapy. God’s word was my therapy. I clung more than ever to His word even in the midst of Satan attacking me with thoughts of destructive blasphemy against the Lord. I have been counseled by the Almighty Lord Himself!✨ One day we will not have to deal with mental illnesses, etc. , when we are glorified in Heaven. 🕊️
Yesterday and today these broadcasts ministered to me greatly. You said certain things that most Christians won’t say out loud or even dare to admit in private- which is very sad indeed. Thank you so much for being REAL.
We are so encouraged to hear this was helpful to you, Diane. It guides us on future broadcasting decisions as well. Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way! Blessings to you.
The safe person is really important. If you don't choose the right person as your safe person, it can cause a tumble down the hill. I did that twice and wow! It really hurt because the person I chose said cruel things to me and ruined a longtime friendship and deepened the depression. So yes, study your person before you choose them as your safe person. I am looking for a safe person again. Covid turned me back into my old introverted self so it's kind of hard to find that person. I know I will be OK. I can hold on because I have the Lord in my heart. Praying for that someone.

This was a great episode. Thank you. The church needs to talk about these things.
