Junaid Bhai, I actually work on London train network. People pay for their tickets because they know they will face a fine and a criminal record. According to Malcolm Gladwell's book "Outliers", 80-85% of the people in a civilized society are honest working people who choose to live by the rules. However, this percentage dramatically falls in nations that have a marginalized education system or infrastructure. Education really counts.
@@Erbazak47 first of all, they never had a big economy, secondly, a higher literacy doesn't mean that they were honest with their country, although they now have turned over a new leaf....so yeah, it takes time for a completely civilized govt and civilized people to live in a country...

I am going Germany quite frequent since last many years, been to Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Koln and couple of more places, similar experience with few addition and a bit different perception due to experience.
In sub-continent you will find the most trust worthy people from remote rural areas. For example, in Indian North East there are small fruit & veggie shops that do not have a grocer so customers can pick and pay without monitoring. I think the more people are around us, the corrupt we tend to get.
When i came to Australia in 2009, i was stunned to see their metro ticketing system, not a single person was there to check anything apart from the random checkers even their frequency of checks used to be very low, but as the time passed by and the Desi migrants started populating Australia, not only the number of checkers increased but also the barriers and restrictions increased too, this tells jahan bhi hum jatay hain ghalat he kartay hain, so it is not just the government who is supposed to be held accountable for every atrocity that is happening in our country it is also the public themselves, let me give you a tiny example that following a queue in any place requires moral value not a law enforcement to do so.
I traveled many European countries and in my Experience I never saw any Gora( EU Citizen) travelled on a public transport without a ticket and this shows loyalty and sincerity to their Nation. Unfortunately I saw many Desi People usually travel in public transport without a ticket.😢
Abdul Nasir Sahib, please do not blindly give honesty licence to gora people. Based in London, I have widely travelled in the western Europe and have witnessed many goras travelling without a valid ticket at various random checks.

True and lots of respect and love for you brother. And, agr heqqeqat main dekha jae toh they follow religion indirectly though they dont know. for instance, in trade, law, business, seeking knowledge and education, civic sense, respect. etc
@@braveheart816 In Islam, there are certain ettiquetes of doing business and trade such as Islam stresses on doing trade with honesty which is prevalent in most of the western countries and absent in Muslim countries. Mixing, hoarding and making copies of products is order of the day. Moreover, Islam strongly encourages, both men and women, to attain education. There is hadith on education where Prophet Muhammad pbuh said, seek knowledge even if you have to go to China." (china was far most place at that time) . So, the level of education and scientific advancements in west talk volumes about it and see how Muslim countries deal with science and education. Besides, cleanliness is the most important aspect of religion. The conditions of cities in west is far much better than that of countries which were founded on the basis of religion. Finally, absence of rule of law in Muslim countries is rampant,. Consequently there is wide spread corruption, nepotism, trafic violations and many other social ills of society are prevalent in our countries. Therefore, if there is promotion of knowledge, scientific education, implementation of rule of law, development of civic sense, and trade with honesty and integrity, you will see condition of our country.

@@Anonymous_110 .. This is exactly what I said ... if religion was such an integral part in character building and in socio-economic dynamics of a nation or a country ... then all those qualities that you have mention would have been in us, which is clearly not the case. On the other hand, the west has nothing to do with religion... they have rejected religion as a society ... they are termed as Godless societies and look at their progress .... they don't follow Islam or any religion as a matter of fact ... so, how does it matter what religion teaches you or not ? .... when others can achieve the same thing without a religion then why do we need a religion ? Now, a common argument is and you tried to give the same argument that .... religion is teaching you good things but the followers are not following it properly and that's why we are in this situation ... ok .... the counter argument is that others are not following the religiuos teachings either ... they don't even know if religion teaches all these things ... still they are not in the same situation, they are doing good. So, the "followers not following" narrative has failed here.
@@braveheart816 But the problem is all this honesty of west is just for themselves These western countries loot other small nations, exploit their resources, fund the terrorist organisations, involve in regime changes, killing thousands of innocents, debt traps, are save havens for Corrupt ruling elite of poor nations etc. And the western public pay huge amount of taxes to their governments which are destroying other nations But Islam teaches us to be honest and fair with everyone otherwise you will face consequences in afterlife, fear Allah before oppressing others even animals thats why it is important and has significance And the true followers of islam, true Momins follow all these teachings Problem is mainstream Muslims are far away from Islam and are just by name Muslims with no actions And they will definitely face consequences in afterlife
Even when they fine you 60€ for riding without ticket, they do it very politely ,without any insults, regardless from where you are. Even wish you a nice day ahead. The morality is on an entirely different level.
Junaid bhai i am living in Germany from last 9 years the only thing I learned is Patience this is the basics we have to learn that and everything will be alright. I appreciate your work please keep it up and i wish we learn the way of living like normal people. Thank you
Usually if you don't have any ticket and you are traveling through metro or tramp and they got you they will charge you 60€ but this creates more problems in future as police cases
Great message Junaid Akram. The most important thing is that these are not the priority of people nor they consider it bad, parents are not teaching their kids to be honest with country. Even religious teacher/preacher are fighting on Rabi ul Awal, shab baraat or all type of these stuff that we should celebrate it nor not, but they are not guiding people that Allah will also ask about the responsibilities which your not fulfilling. They don't say people that it is also a sin that you are not following rules.
Good video. Living in Germany, I can really say that that the German society is exemplary when it comes to obeying the law. And this is not only because law enforcement is strict but there is also a natural "expectation" from one another that everyone obeys the law. You can ride buses and trains without a ticket and no one will ask, but there are random checks and if they catch you then you have to 60 euros. What really is amazing that you may never know when the check may happen. It can happen even on a Sunday at 3 am or Wednesday during official timings. Moreover, this expectation that everyone obeys the law is a powerful factor that impels people to obey even the small act like not crossing the road when it is red light even if it is 1 am and there is no sign of an incoming car. Lastly, Germany is not really an athiest society. The country is secular but there is still a strong Protestant ethics influence.
As a Pakistani agnostic-atheist living in Australia. Germany is a 'non-religious society' I wouldn't say Atheist by very irreligious. Protestantism and Catholicism play as culture; people get their culture, holidays and morals from it just like me with Islam but they rarely are religious; they may identify with it but once you get to know them you'll realise they are atheist. Same with many developed countries like Australia. Even people in developed muslim countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan are heavily non-religious and atheist.
In India travelling without ticket is impossible in metro and buses. In trains maybe possible but ticket checkers are well trained and they also get commission when they cut fines
A similar thing happens in Centaurus, Islamabad. Guards are well trained and don't let anyone without a family through without paying for the ticket... Boht kaminay hain kasme.
There might be few cases of ticketless travel in city buses, mostly in student areas, but in metros the ticketless people are negligible. Now because of free student bus services by most municipal corporations, even that is reducing.
Excellent point of view sir, and a comprehensive analysis of "Inhon ne hum se sikha hai". The only way forward is to enhance your knowledge and understanding of your surroundings, universe, and where we have come from. Unfortunately, we are still stuck in the mindset of "Kurti gilli gilli, lacha wi gilla gilla" or "Gujjra wey Gujjra wey". The only nations which have really progressed or picked themselves as nations, have either ignored the religion completely (such as Switzerland, Germany, etc.) OR established a very hard line between the Religion, Humanism and Work ethics. Pakistan will never be able to progress with their closed mindset and due to a lack of understanding of their surroundings, challenges, and critical issues. When the society is judging everything from the point of view of of 7th century religion, it is not plausible to excel in any domain.
During my entire visit in Germany, the ticket checker came only once and in another time the train stopped in the platform for extra time so that I (who was running towards the station) can get on the train.
Also, for the months of June. July, and August, everbody in Germany could purchase a 9 euro unlimited ticket for the whole month and travel freely all around Germany. This monthly ticket normally costs 82 euros but it has been heavily subsidised by the government to encourage people to travel by public transport instead of cars so that the country can save millions from importing expensive fuel, and less cars on the road means less CO2 emissions. This is how developed nations think and plan!
We are living in Germany once I saw a 60 euro fine for eating food n drink in the city bus. Otherwise people are really nice n helping but generally people are truly honest.

You described the situation very well. I thought you would not talk about exceptions among Germans who would not punch their tickets, but you pleasantly surprised me by covering that as well. Unfortunately in Pakistan the criminal-violent mindset has permeated to every segment of our society due to fearlessness of law. Disputes are now settled based on the capacity to wage violence at a given time of either side rather than based on law. I have never seen in Pakistan that a weak side won a court case against a stronger side. Everyday I see fights between shopkeepers and customers over wrong change being given. I feel like I should carry a body cam to record everything my eyes see so I can later prove things. But then there are so many such "proofs" online which rarely get due resolution.

With all due respect, your analysis is off. A few governments in developed countries have adopted this system based on faith and trust like you mentioned. However, the fact that governments not trusting their citizens or the citizens being dishonest is NOT a Pakistan problem, this is a HUMAN BEHAVIOR trait which is linked to ECONOMIC development. Have you seen such a trust based system in other developing countries that are economically more stable than us? (India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc). This has to do with how economic growth impacts human behavior, it has nothing to do with the region you belong to. Germany and other developed countries weren't always like this. When there is economic progress, standards of living subsequently also rise and thus a level of trust in CERTAIN, not all, cases is established. Therefore, it would be foolish and pretty much unfair to expect such a trust based system in ANY poorer nation that is not economically stable because people in those nations have completely different circumstances compared to countries like Germany. Of course I am not validating dishonest behavior, but it needs to be understood that crime is mostly committed due to desperation and not because people innately enjoy being dishonest.

In sub-continent you will find the most trust worthy people from remote rural areas. For example, in Indian North East there are small fruit & veggie shops that do not have a grocer so customers can pick and pay without monitoring. I think the more people are around us, the corrupt we tend to get.
North East India is a gem

And, agr heqqeqat main dekha jae toh they follow religion indirectly though they dont know. for instance, in trade, law, business, seeking knowledge and education, civic sense, respect. etc
Religion has nothing to do with all the things you mentioned.
@@braveheart816 and I have mentioned only a few aspects of religion of Islam. In reality, there is nothing that has not been addressed in religion. It has answer to every question of life. But, we are the one who lack its understanding and its implementation in true letter and spirit.
@@braveheart816
But the problem is all this honesty of west is just for themselves
These western countries loot other small nations, exploit their resources, fund the terrorist organisations, involve in regime changes, killing thousands of innocents, debt traps, are save havens for Corrupt ruling elite of poor nations etc. And the western public pay huge amount of taxes to their governments which are destroying other nations
But Islam teaches us to be honest and fair with everyone otherwise you will face consequences in afterlife, fear Allah before oppressing others even animals thats why it is important and has significance
And the true followers of islam, true Momins follow all these teachings
Problem is mainstream Muslims are far away from Islam and are just by name Muslims with no actions
And they will definitely face consequences in afterlife

It's simple, be the change that you want to see!!

The economic situation in Pakistan is also to be blamed on Pakistanis. First you must accept your wrong doings instead of Just giving excuses.

The points you have mentioned come under civic sense, keeping the streets clean, not littering, etc. This video was specifying governments trusting their people with MONEY and having faith that they will pay their fares. This system cannot take place in a country that is still considered "third world" and it has nothing to do with the nationality of the people, rather the economic condition of the country. THAT was my point. I hope this clarifies my point

Evolution Junaid bhai!! We are going through evolution as a nation...

Germany always went through evolution and got here today.
As you said in the end, everyone has to do their part consistently and Inshallah we will get there little by little 😊
