I miss this game so much :( Why can't they make a new version of this game so I can play it in Win 10 or higher :(. Thank you so much for putting this up!
From intro lol it always felt like Empire didnt have any tech at all. And overall we see ton of rebel tanks rolling in and then BAM they all gone somewhere. So we never knew how the hell they lost.
My god this game had potential... I still cant get over the fact the game it self wasnt that great. In fact it was far worse than most RTS games released at its premiere.
It was a great game. However I didnt like 3 things about it: - No X-Wing in the game, - No jedi knigh, - No harvesting recourses, only bunkers and points after fighting instead. And yes, this game makes the Galactic Empire way stronger then the Rebel Alliance.
Considering the era, no Jedi knight makes sense (although you can in some missions controlling Vader or Luke). No harvesting resources is not a problem, bunkers and battles are enough, you stay focused on the strategy and fight. And probably they didn't want to make the same gameplay than AoE II. X-Wings were a big miss though. Air forces are quite poor actually, only one fighter and one bomber. Why not having X-Wings and even A-Wings (as we have them in the story), and TIE Interceptors? I still love this game, no matter its flaws. It was released during the hard era of 3D birth. Such a shame the game is unable to have mods, it would be a very nice improvement (gameplay-wise, graphics and all).
@@Huge887 I had bought the game. Back then it was on two CDs. The interface on the small screen in the console was cool. Also at certain times the bunkers weren giving any command points so you had to rely on attacks whether from air whether that be from ground forces. The lack of X-Wing made me often to choose the Galactic Empire as they had more and better units in the game. By the way there was Star Wars game that was basically a copy of AoE. It was called "Galactic Battlegrounds".
@@oliverpetroski4205I still have both games, and FoCom in original two CDs. And I know about Battlegrounds; I didn't mention it because we were talking about FoCom, and I think Ronin Entertainment didn't want to make a similar game than AoE. Ensemble Studio bought the rights of the franchise and made their "Galactic AoE", but this is another thing. Bunkers don't give points when you have too much expensive units, which penalizes you by removing points (thus, you can't have 20 AT-AT or 10 shield generators for example). So, bunkers still give you points (10 per bunker and circa all 3-5 seconds), but you loose them immediately if you have large amount of expensive units. Rebels and Empire have two different gameplays: Empire can be ruthless with great firepower, and Rebels are more defensive with their shields and more mobile. I enjoy both equally, and nevermind if there are no XW.
Tell me I like it, I play hard command from the beginning, I finished the campaign I don’t know how many times, the skirmish became too boring I managed to get a patch for new pc, but I never play by force command in multiplayer against real players, there are communities? or form a squadron also on the old "x-wing alliance" games so I’m from 1989 so it’s games of my generation
If this story were released now, it would be lambasted like Battlefront 2 2017's sanitized "Imperial" campaign. And even then, the gameplay has not aged well compared to Rebellion, Galactic Battlegrounds, and Empire at War. Still, it's probably worth playing or watching once for the important Legends lore surrounding it.
This was the first star wars game I bought with my own money when I was just a kid. Played it for hours on end!
great game indeed
same here!
This is when absolute heart, soul, sweat, tears, and most importantly FUN was incorporated into Star Wars entertainment. I miss these days.

I've always wonder if the crew of that AT-ST are just shitting their pants.
This game was SO DOPE. And the infinite troops cheat was so much fun.
It's funny how cinematic video games have become. This really feels like watching an animated Star Wars movie instead of cutscenes from a game.
Long live the Empire
I remember this game for the life of me I couldn't remember the name until I scrolling through ebay and found someone selling it
The intro is so damn good!
Kyle Katarn, Carth Onasi, and Jon Irenicus :3
incredible guy
Yeah that voice sounds so familiar lol
@@Nmax wait wait wait Jon Irenicus?
Carth is voiced by different actor.
@@Zhuravliov Raphael Sbarge gave voice for both Carth and Dellis Tantor.
This is such a classic
rebel attack tanks were so fukin cool, sad to not have seen more of them in other games

I think I hear Carth Onasi and Kyle Katarn. > _ > Never made the connection back then.

Overwhelming firepower ? Those tanks got nothing on the AT-ATs.
My goodness. All I can hear is Kyle Katarn.

Gosh I loved this LucasArts intro!
I’m starting to wonder if the rts game being developed is a remake of this. The story here has a potential, just update the gameplay.
Lol is that the voice of Kyle Katarn?
Great Game!
Really distracting that Tantor is voiced by Kyle Katarn's VA.
Which VA? The guy has literally three or four of them over the course of the Dark Forces Saga.

Damn, but why my cutscenes are with those weird scanlines on them?
Check your performance settings in the force command application and uncheck low-res textures.
The game of movie or TV-Show i want to see from Star wars. Mandolorian and Clone wars is good.
Yeh, this is what Disneys Star Wars should have been.
This is Finns story...
But noooo. They had to push a feminist narrative and f'ck up everything.
Damn that game was a buggy mess i waitet for New CD mags with Patches to fix it up. But the soundtrack was cool
