I honestly love that the writers kept Penelope and Derek’s relationship platonic and the writers didn’t even entertain them being more. It kinda was edging, you kinda expect them to be more through out the series but they never do. That’s why it’s so good.
They really wrote it perfectly. It would have been just as awesome and believable if they'd have gotten together, as well.I like how they danced around the edges of crossing that line, but not quite, enough were we'd have cheered if they'd have put them together, but enough were we adored their friendship if they didn't

I mean it's consensual between them, but there is definitely a reason they try to remind Garcia when she's on speaker phone. I get being uncomfortable when your coworkers flirt in front of you. Especially when you work for the FBI and deal with serious crimes. I probably wouldn't complain though. It's also a TV show, though.
