I don't know why people think Stonehenge is unbelievable in it's majesty , Avebury is far more impressive with even bigger stones and a lot more of them and you can actually walk up to them and touch them unlike Stonehenge where you have to pay a criminal amount of money and held back from the stones by ropes. I just hope Avebury stones are always as it should be with our ancient historic sites , free.
Ive passed both and found Avebury to be a much more magical place. I was with a workmate and as we entered the village, never been before we just found ourselves there by accident after working in a nearby village, you could feel the energy from the place, hard to describe but never felt like that anywhere since.
Had a fantastic cream tea & scone at Avebury..Visited St. James church & also ate at the Red Lion Inn...The whole place was mystical to me..I am very sensitive to the other worldly..(also Glastonbury Tor, all the places, even Hastings etc.)Definitely in that place there is a presence.. I feel my ancestors everytime I visit England(I do genealogy & love history). When I'm home, some part of me is still in England...Thank you once again for your videos!!!! p.s. LOVE the fish & chips...Visited The Mary Rose exhibit in 2016, it was FANTASTIC!! Got my DNA back, yep, British, Welsh, Ireland, Scandinavia, Scottish:father's side/all Italian on mother's side...Wow, I'm babbling, just excited to make contact with someone that understands lol
My Dad and where here this time last year. I was amazed. and like you I felt spirits there. I had no knowledge of the Barber Stone, but felt a presence there. then to learn there was a person found there, sent a shiver up my spine. look forward to more videos. Thanks Chris
Just found your videos :) Thank you so much!!!! I'm in the usa & have been to England several times & visited Avebury & many more places...Wiltshire is the land of my ancestors..Pewsey, All Cannings etc. A worldwide reunion was celebrated 2000 at Swanborough Tump, down the road of the White Chalk horse..It's where King Alfred & his brother signed their will in 878 ad..I LOVE England..It is in my heart & soul..I have 10,000 ancestor names, and cousins (we have a common ancestor back 1700 & then loops to common ancestor to 1500. I will write another comment of my experience in Avebury..
Lovely stuff Chris. One of my favourite villages. You missed out that it was the location for the excellent Children's TV series from 1976, ''The Children of the Stones'' ... :)
I loved it when I was there Chris. Such a special location and all the energy I felt there! Thanks for sharing, I will go back there one day and have a feel again.
A wonderful historical documentary and a great presentation once again. Avebury is such a powerful area with energies not just from the stones themselves but also from the fact that both the St Mary's (re your next location) and the St Michael Ley lines converge at that site. I would love to visit the area...better still I'd love to go back in time and see it in all it's former glory ;0)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Very pleased you enjoyed the show. The microphone is a top end of the range one made by Sennheiser. A similar thing happened in Walberswick Church and that was in full view of the camera. I have previously checked with Sennheiser. Their microphones cannot be responsible in the manner shown on video. But an area that has to be checked, so I appreciate you raising this :)
I've realized that I may never be able to travel and see this part of the World. So thank you for making the experience real for me. And for others too. Your posts bring me there. I can't thank you enough
Wonderful as usual. So interesting to learn about Avebury. Would love to visit one day. I could almost smell the English countryside. As usual makes me quite homesick. Thanks for great video :)
I just watched this video and, as usual, was very interested and impressed with the way you present this subject matter. I hope someday to be able to visit Avebury myself.
I remember “Children of The Stones” from my youth and for some reason I didn’t watch all of it, probably because there was something else on the other side. Recently I rewatched it and found it very enjoyable even though I am somewhat older. At the time it was considered a little too frightening for children and I think it still is.
A very heartwarming and educational video! As a fan I should be concerned for the lack of paranormal content but I actually completely am not. I like this documentary. As for the clicks I think we should take microphone's technology into consideration. I doubt that they are of paranormal origin and I also doubt that they are being struck although the sound results are similar. In a quick-analysis conclusion I'd say that it's simply the mic being not a very high-end one.
Reminds me of Saint George with a twist, you give up that pagan serpent of stones and we'll make a church out of it. I think it symbolized the Comet around the Sun as is also seen in Egyptian art. Got me laughing with the ravens of death before entering the church.
What do you know about Stonehenge Chris? Just done number 24 on my slideshow so I have achieved it summer winter autumn spring Didn't have time to do Avebury as was camping up SH so last ones from there was 8/9 but will put some old material up soon and let you know Allbest Mate
ok..The reunion was a dream come true..We all went to visit Avebury..At the time I didn't know much about it or abt ley-lines..We were walking along, hugging stones, lol, all of a sudden I felt a surge at the bottom of my feet thru to top of my head..It happened in a second, yet it seemed everything was in slow motion..I could see the cousins talking & didn't notice me..When it was done I said, "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT!!!" The English cousins laughed & said, "Oh, you learned something abt the leylines, did ya?
Thank you Red. I like to create different atmospheres with the music and locations, and hope that the mixture works well. The only restrictions are a small budget to shoot, but it`s these challenges that makes the exercise worthwhile when you first see the final edit.:)
Hi Chris I'm new too your shows , I found them by accident while looking at some other haunted video,s . . I've thoroughly enjoyed each and everyone of your videos. Can I ask why you visit so many Churches, all are very beautiful. Thank you for bringing the history of the Churches to life . Keep doing what you do, looking forward to many more from you. . Maggs.
Sorry if I make you homesick Joanna .... But on the other hand, it does give you something to look forward to seeing when you return home. Glad you enjoyed :)
Hi Lisette! Thank you for commenting, and thank you for subscribing! :) The site is indeed wonderful :) And I very much appreciate your comments about my work. An investigation from a haunted hotel is next - A week or so.
I was looking at your Avebury film. Loved it! Especially the visit to West Kennet Long Barrow.I never had the time to visit there to shoot. It certainly looks a grand place to film at night as well as day. So isolated, and very beautiful:)
These monuments are amazing, and particularly so when you consider their great age and past importance. And yet we know so little of these Neolithic builders. I`ve seen the `Menhir` in photographs. You wonder whether their was any connections between these many sites across Europe. Sadly, many disappeared eons ago..
There are also some in Bretagne, France. We call them 'menhir'. They are also set up in a certain pattern, but it's not as clear as the one in stone henge.
You can learn more about the people who placed these stones here from Maria who lives nearby. hiddenincatours.com/exploration-of-the-megaliths-of-avebury-in-england-12000-years-old/ And Maria Wheatley's website is here. theaveburyexperience.co.uk/
Thanks Dave, I again very much appreciate your observations and comments of the place. Interesting about the Ley lines, and stranger still that my next port of call was St Mary`s in Wales. The church site above the village of Tintern was very active indeed:) If only time travel was possible ..... (I dream;) For an amazing view was being able to look down on Tintern Abbey, all bathed in a glow of spotlight beams! :)
If churches are abandoned, and presumably deconsecrated, do you find there is any difference in the level of activity compared with an actively used building?
My pleasure. It is incredible around the stones, and indeed the whole village. I wish I had more time to spare there. Perhaps I may return to visit the West Kennet Long Barrow. Never had the opportunity the first time around :)
I have just found my new addiction…this channel! A few years ago I visited Avebury and the stones; I remember it felt very spiritual there. On touching the stones a wholesome energy emanated from them. Good all round video, fabulous place, interesting history and an excellent presenter ;) Look forward to future uploads. When you have time would love you to visit my channel, thank you. A fan, subscribed! Lisette
It certainly has that atmosphere. I wonder though, how it would feel there with less tourists. I`m sure the earth surrounding that site comes alive again in the dead of winter, when all around there is relatively still. A really fascinating, and magical site. And we all need magic in our lives :).
It's interesting that no one ever really picks up on residuals of the people who actually placed the stones there in the first place so long ago. I've never had the opportunity to touch these stones myself but have never heard anyone even mention this. Who were all these ancient stone movers and builders?
You can learn more about the people who placed these stones here from Maria who lives nearby. hiddenincatours.com/exploration-of-the-megaliths-of-avebury-in-england-12000-years-old/ And Maria Wheatley's website is here. theaveburyexperience.co.uk/
It`s interesting you picked up on the hat. A difficult decision in a church - whether or not to wear a hat. But as I mean no disrespect, and spirit can `read` you, I`m sure they wouldn`t mind :) But on the other hand it could be argued that the church disrespects the Stone Circle by being there. Pleased you picked up on my point. Thanks for commenting :)
It's a shame pub wouldn't let you film..it was Florrie that went down the well. I stayed in the red lion years ago when it was an Inn but I don't remember anything spooky
Avebury was built between 1929/31 AD,, that’s all the stones where bought there on backs off lorry’s and the Ditch was dug in 1930 , surprised you never mentioned that “Fact”
Well I run kentghoststories on facebook and currently looking for people to contribute as we expand from just kent. If you wanted you could regularly post on there with any tales, also promoting your site/sites!
Hi Chris Havent heard from you for a while my latest upload called ENTITIES has just been published on my channel with the Ghosts n Creatures I caught at Avebury and Stonehenge Let me know your thoughts Cheers
But Stonehenge has all those magnificent trilithons. Architecturally superb!
Agree Aveburys far more interesting
Ive passed both and found Avebury to be a much more magical place. I was with a workmate and as we entered the village, never been before we just found ourselves there by accident after working in a nearby village, you could feel the energy from the place, hard to describe but never felt like that anywhere since.
Yep. Avebury is better all round. It's always Stonehenge that has endless TV programmes made about it, and never Avebury.
Yes mate. It is a great TV show. One of best kids shows from the 70's. It was all shot on location at Avebury. Lovely piece my friend.
Barbara Fisher You’d love Wales just as much by the sound of it! 😉
Love your work! Rich commentary on this one. Thank you!
Lovely stuff Chris. One of my favourite villages. You missed out that it was the location for the excellent Children's TV series from 1976, ''The Children of the Stones'' ... :)
I bought the dvd of that very good
I really enjoy the history that you teach about the places. I love watching you. Thank you.
I loved this secenes and sound. Thank you, from Brazil.
I loved it when I was there Chris. Such a special location and all the energy I felt there! Thanks for sharing, I will go back there one day and have a feel again.
Children of the stones TV show brought me here :) magical looking place, and no doubt bloody expensive to live there.
A wonderful historical documentary and a great presentation once again. Good job, Chris. I love your vids.
I have always wanted to visit the stones , and surrounding areas, they look beautiful.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Very pleased you enjoyed the show. The microphone is a top end of the range one made by Sennheiser. Wonderful. Thank you for sharing this!

I love Avebury magical place
Glad you love those stones- they took me forever to place there! lol
They are beautiful :)
Wow. You still have two more to hump to make a decimal clock. Can think why you stopped at 98. May be a nice cup of tea.
I remember “Children of The Stones” from my youth and for some reason I didn’t watch all of it, probably because there was something else on the other side. Recently I rewatched it and found it very enjoyable even though I am somewhat older. At the time it was considered a little too frightening for children and I think it still is.
Loved this
Thank you! :)
Oh yes we do need this in our lives. I always go there off season and as late as possible.
Great video thanks for sharing. Have found Avebury to be an amazing place. will definitely be returning. :-)
I didnt realise there were stones in other places too. I just thought they were at Stonehenge...Thanks Chris, it was very enjoyable as usual.
There's stone circles all over the word. Think Aveburys only one with a village built in it
A very heartwarming and educational video! As a fan I should be concerned for the lack of paranormal content but I actually completely am not. I like this documentary.

Hi Chris, you're videos are always superb. @ 9:11 ~ 9:12 Something grey moves at terrific speed just behind you on the path.
Yeah I saw that
Reminds me of Saint George with a twist, you give up that pagan serpent of stones and we'll make a church out of it. I think it symbolized the Comet around the Sun as is also seen in Egyptian art. Got me laughing with the ravens of death before entering the church.
Another interesting investigation Chris!!i always liked the standing stones of Britain and was enthralled by their mystery!!
Is this built in lay lines by any chance?
A lot of these structure's are.
Would that energy have any effect when trying to make contact?
Amazing place! Was there yesterday.
It sure is!
Not been on in ages. very interesting video.. as always :)
I'm still impressed that Avebury was the setting for "Children of the Stones," and that the UK went through a "pagan revival" in the '70s and '80s.
Thank you for commenting!

Thank you. Just walking without much talking works for me. 🙏🏻
Thanks Jason :) I wasn`t aware regarding the Tv series. But I`m pleased you enjoyed the show :)
"Murderous megalith". Love it
ok..The reunion was a dream come true..We all went to visit Avebury..At the time I didn't know much about it or abt ley-lines..We were walking along, hugging stones, lol, all of a sudden I felt a surge at the bottom of my feet thru to top of my head..It happened in a second, yet it seemed everything was in slow motion..I could see the cousins talking & didn't notice me..When it was done I said, "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT!!!" The English cousins laughed & said, "Oh, you learned something abt the leylines, did ya?
If I had the required money I would buy the entire village and destroy it all including the road. And restore the circle in its entirety
Wonderful
Thank you!
Chris halton the duke of ghost hunting👌👍
I started going in the late 80's ..the cafe was a rustic old veggie hippy place then before NT took over. It was great.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video ..
Thank you Red. I like to create different atmospheres with the music and locations, and hope that the mixture works well. The only restrictions are a small budget to shoot, but it`s these challenges that makes the exercise worthwhile when you first see the final edit.:)

The Hubster and I bought our wedding rings in a shop inside the stone circles. One ring fitted inside the other perfectly
Sounds very romantic Patricia. :)
a very interesting place chris, shame about the pub,,,great video,
Sorry if I make you homesick Joanna .... But on the other hand, it does give you something to look forward to seeing when you return home. Glad you enjoyed :)

Good show you are right what you say at the end History is important for the future
Thank you very much Chris, I am honoured ;)
A Haunted Hotel you say, I can’t wait! :)

brilliant chris well done
I adore the music that plays at the start. Do you know the title of the track?
There are also some in Bretagne, France. We call them 'menhir'. They are also set up in a certain pattern, but it's not as clear as the one in stone henge.

The part of the church behind the rood screen make me feel so sick something bad is there

Thank you Jason :)
Did you perchance, get the opportunity to pop into see the M.R James church in Suffolk? :)
Very pleased you enjoyed, Rebecca :)
it's amazing how some people seem to think that improving things means knocking down really old buildings instead of fixing them up.
Such as the Christians?
Pleased you enjoyed :)

Do people in houses who live beside Avebury ever see feel any thing in houses
How would that work? I`m always interested in sharing my work :)
Pleased you have liked it Paul :)
Chris Halton - Haunted Earth tv The mound looks like a pyramid like the Mayans built
That`s people for you, Kris :)
Children of The Stones brought me here.
When Dave angel came to Wiltshire.
